Great site, lovely and quiet and felt away from the busy city

This was a great site, not far to travel to but very peaceful and we felt away from everyone. The managers at the site were incredibly friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure everyone was ok. The site was near to Hatfield House and Stanborough Park and also within an hour door to door of central London. The pitch sizes were generous and everyone on the site was very friendly. As our second trip out I am really pleased we chose this site. Our only slight gripe was that my husband felt the showers were not great, weak water pressure and not the best compared to a previous site. I happily used the shower in the caravan so couldn't directly comment. This is definitely a site for some peace and quiet whilst being close enough to city life if you wanted it.

Great site for visiting London

Stayed here over a weekend. This is an ideal site for visiting London. There is a bus stop nearby that takes you to Hatfield Railway Station and from there it is about 30 minutes to Kings Cross. We also found a fabulous pub to have lunch on the Sunday. It was walking distance from the site that meant we could both have a glass of wine with lunch. The site itself is quiet and well laid out, the facilities are very good and the Wardens very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this site.

Easter 2018

Visiting family in Welwyn Garden City so this site is ideal. Site was spotless even though the weather was dreadful and it was nearly full.

Another good stay

We stay here when we are visiting family in London. The wardens are always friendly and welcoming. The shower block is always clean and tidy & the grounds are well maintained by the wardens. There is plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby and a good wooded area just outside the entrance for walking the dog.

Perfect for a peaceful stop off

Nice quiet tidy site. Welcomed by a lovely friendly couple. Nothing seemed too much trouble. A small site but easy reach of a pub & shopping. There were a few planes flying over so possibly in the flight path but didn’t really bother me.

Ideal for Access to London

Not the largest of club sites but a very well maintained one and in a fantastic location. This site allows an easy commute into London. The local taxi firm, business cards available from the info room and wardens, is only 3.50 to WGC railway station, cheaper than a bus journey and the council run taxi services. 25 minutes later and you will be at Kings Cross. no traffic hassle and a regular service. The shopping centre in WGC is adequate, but then again you don't really need a lot when you can jump on the train and go shopping in London if that is your thing. The site itself meets all the expectations of the club, the wardens are friendly, helpful and hard working, regardless of the weather you will find them somewhere around sweeping cleaning and maintaining the pitches and facilities to a very high standard. There is the occasional noise from the adjoining sports field and emergency vehicles on call going into the nearby hospital but this is to be expected when located in such an area. We shall definitely use this site again when planning a trip to London, one of the jewels in the crown that membership affords.

So conveniently located

We use this site quite a lot as it is near to where family live. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the facilities as one would expect from CAMC; good standard and clean. The location is excellent, being near to local shops and less than 10 minutes' drive form Welwyn Garden City with its excellent shopping facilities. It is also near to WGC railway station with frequent services into London; only a short journey. One thing that does bother us is that apart from the main periphery roads through the site, the road and path surfaces need renewing. They se em to be made up of hoggin but whenever it has rained, it becomes quite mucky. To be fair, the wear and tear is probably due to the success of the site as it is always busy but this means perhaps it needs fixing more often.

Great place, brilliant staff

Stayed here for just over a week in mid December, friendly staff upon arrival. Site is clean and tidy, toilet block is clean. We were right at the back next to the trees making a satellite signal difficult, but not impossible. Walks from site nice and easy. Very close to central London. Great for us visiting family in London. We approached the warden couple to ask about possible storage for a few weeks over Christmas, due to family medical matters we really needed to stay for a few weeks. The couple said they didn't think there was any and didn't seem very interested, they told us to speak to the senior warden couple when they returned to work so we did. The senior couple were amazing , they were very friendly very helpful and managed to squeeze us in for a few weeks which was brilliant. Upon return we stayed for a night to get sorted, there were still there and friendly as ever. Staff this helpful are hard to come by and we would like to thank them for all they did for us! Amazing customer service.

no signage

poor directional signage from the main road? also the entrance no illumination at night, if you are arriving after 16.30 in the winter you can not see the signs for the camp site, plus the road to the main barrier was very uneven. every thing else was excellent on site as was the site wardens.
