This site is a great location, so pretty just a shame about the wardens!
I arrived and pulled up not blocking the road, I was in the arrivals area and the caravan in front of me moved as I was walking to check in, I had to go back to my car and move my outfit forward before the warden would even consider checking me in. Yes I am sure the wardens will respond to say it was a busy weekend but no one else was there!!
I visited this site with friends who have children. It was important we were pitched together but despite offering to even pay for my friends pitch we were not able to park together as we didn't arrive together. We came from different areas of the country . The wardens suggestion was I wait 5 hours in the late night arrivals until my friends arrived!!!! I think not!
I wasn't worried where the pitches were, just needed to be together and I really don't consider that much to ask.
I am afraid these wardens totally forget who the customer is.
Toilet cleaning was crazily early when people wanted showers leaving people to que in the other block.
I am in my second year of caravan club membership having visited a lot of lovely sites! This is the first negative review because this place seriously got my back up.
All in all lovely location ruined by unhelpful wardens!
If you want a quiet side away from it all then Clumber is for you. Miles from anywhere and good if you want walking or cycling. However you would be lost if your had a Motorhome and did not wish to move it during your stay. The Wardens are brilliant but this appear to apply to all site of The Caravan & Motorhome Club. (Can we please use letters only as this is such a mouthful, C&MC is a lot easier).
Stayed at this site in July, arrived a day late after a disastrous start to our holiday. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. The site is lovely and our two German Shepherds just loved their woodland walks, dog heaven. We will definately go back. Thank you for a fab stay.
As dog owners, Clumber Park is one of our favourite sites. You can walk out of the site at four or five points on the site boundary into the surrounding woodland and walk for as long as you want to, rarely having to cross roads and those you do have to cross rarely have much if any traffic on them. A great new addition to the site on our latest visit was an outside shower for dogs ( or for bikes or muddy boots ). Great idea which hopefully will be replicated at other club sites.

Really good campsite in the beautiful location of Clumber Park. Great for dog walking/cycling. Clean facilities and TV booster on the electric hook up. No phone signal here but didn't really bother us. Would recommend.
Returned from another great weekend at Clumber with our grand-daughter.
We have been staying on this site for more than 20 years, even before it was expanded, and we stay there several times each year.
This is an excellent site for families as you can let the children play knowing that they are safe - set area limits for them to stop them wandering off though!
The woods are a dogs paradise.
The facilities are looking tired, but are always kept clean.
The Team of wardens is new this year, and they are all very friendly and do a good job. However, our first ever and only complaint would be that they let new arrivals onto the site far too early - as early as 10am on one morning.
We were ready to leave on Sunday, and were hitching up around 11.45am, when a new arrival drove up to us. We moved the car out of the way so that he could pass, but he just waved his arms and shouted out of the window that he wanted "THAT" pitch. He parked very closely to us, made us feel uncomfortable and under pressure to move. We had still to get our grand-daughter into the car, as it was a warm day and we didn't want her to be inside for too long. In the end, we hitched up, and I moved the car and caravan away from the pitch, and parked up near to the toilet block so that we could do our final checks and so that my husband and grand-daughter could get into the car.
We have experienced frustration at times when arriving early at a site and having to wait (or in the case of Chatsworth arriving five minutes early and being told to drive away and come back!), and it is sometimes difficult to arrive at exactly the right time, but the 12 noon arrival is in place for a reason and should be observed.
The "other" caravanning club actually has an hour between the departure and arrival time, which makes moving around the site much safer and less pressurised.
We have several more trips planned during the rest of this year, and we love the site, but this time it seemed chaotic.
just returned from a nice week at clumber park. The staff were very friendly and the shower blocks were spotless as you expect from a club site. we made the mistake of pitching not far off the play area. Come the weekend it was like being beside a school playground. Very noisy. We would not hesitate returning to this site as its in a beautiful location but we are more aware of the quiet areas of the site.
My first stay at clumber park, the site wardens were lovely and very helpful and it was good you could pick your own pitches.
If you want peace and quiet forget going anywhere near the playground area as it was full of screaming children. Just my opinion as I am anti children and like peace and quiet.
Keep well clear of the fish and chip wagon on Friday night £7.00 for fish and chips that were virtually inedible. The dogs wouldn't eat them!!
The walks are plentiful through the forest but if like me you have no sense of direction, you could easily get lost as all the trees and paths look the same.
Showers and toilets a bit dated but clean, plenty of them, never had to wait for a free one and plenty of hot water.
TV reception and phone reception zero, I went for a cable to plug into the main Ariel socket on the hookup post and that was fine then the perfect picture so make sure you take one with you of at least 4M long.
Overall it was a nice site if you have children and bikes, but not if you want some peace and quiet, I for one will not be visiting again I'm afraid.
It must be over 25 years since we were last at Clumber Park. Pleasant welcome from the staff on reception. We found a free hardstanding pitch although our choice was a bit limited as we arrived mid afternoon. The one we chose was near the toilet block but also near the play area. OK a bit noisy at certain times of day but the kids seem to be enjoying themselves and it didn't cause us any inconvenience. As an observation on the play area, I would have thought the kick about area should have some fencing round it, if only to stop the smaller kids being hit by a heavy football playing on the play equipment next door? An Unusual H&S lapse from the Club there? Not much to say about the WiFi as it's pretty poor but I understand this is being attended to. Shame the Club can't work with the Mobile Networks to get a signal near the site. Interesting to see the new bike/dog wash, not seen anything like this before. As a motorhomer I found the service point particularly disappointing for two reasons, firstly it still required heavy drain covers to be removed in order to empty waste water and secondly the position of the drains makes it difficult to align the motorhome. Having said all that it is a very pleasant campsite with lots of opportunities for walks or cycle rides from just outside the site.
