Just had a lovely week at clumber. Hard standing only in winter. Makes for a quiet stay, great walks from the site. Small coffee trailer near lakes. Fish and chips on friday pizza saturday. Wardens always friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to stay. Even had a dog wash/bike wash area with Warm water. A must this time of year
Facilities
Fantastic location, Staff friendly, Facilities what can I say why shut one of the shower and toilet blocks when the site is nearly full we had to walk past a shower block to the other end of the site to shower this is not acceptable talking to others this is common practice at Clumber Park

fantastic scenery
This is our 3rd visit to this site. Friendly welcome from the wardens. this time of year the site's scenery and parks scenery is stunning the change in colour is wonderful. Cycle shed interest idea for safety and keeping bikes dry. Only small critism I would have is time.of cleaning toilets as it's quite a busy time to do them. however they were spotless. Will definitely visit again
Brilliant peaceful stop off
We have stayed here a few times but not really explored the area as we use it for a North South stop off. It's a unique and peaceful site with lovely staff and clean facilities. Next time we plan to stay a little longer to see what we are missing locally.
peace and quiet
Having been coming to this site in the 1st week in november for 5 years we found that very little had changed & the wardens are all very helpful & have time
To help if you need it. We'll be back next year.
Mid Week Break
This was our first visit to the site and it wont be our last, easy to reach from the A1 and set in a lovely area with lots to see and do such as Clumber Park with its many walks bike rides, National Trust Property at Southwell and the Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre to name a few. The wardens are welcoming, friendly and very helpful and a credit to the Caravan Club. Just a note of warning Pitch 42 is at the entrance to the dog walk/wood and is open to miss use by bikes and pedestrians. I was nearly knocked over by an adult on a bike using our pitch as a short cut to the road and on more than one occassion people walked across the front of our caravan onto the pitch and out in the woods. We mentioned this to the wardens and they kindly gave us a cone to try and stop the miss use of the pitch however it does require a permanent solution to this problem and we wont use the pitch again

Great location for visiting Robin Hood country
First time visit for a family of 5 and a dog. Great location if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Sherwood forest and Clumber Park itself.
The site was a typical C&M site but as previous reviewers have noted perhaps the facilities are a little dated albeit nearing the end of the season so they will have been well used.
Even with children with us it was a little disturbing how other parents allow their children to be as noisy so late. I spoke to the Warden who informed me that when he asked a particular child to keep the noise down that he was sworn at. I would not expect that on a C&M site.
Pitches were good, mainly flat with plenty of hardstanding. Surrounding area was picturesque and the trees helped keep Brian out :-).
All in all a nice site with plenty to do around. It is certainly somewhere that we would revisit.
In respect of Clumber Park National Park we decided to walk in rather than pay the entry fee. A fair walk but recommended as a lovely area with plenty to do and see.
Another good weekend here
We come a couple of times a year with grandchildren and the dog and always enjoy the site .There are a couple of bug bears the playground can get very noisy on holidays and weekends until late at night , parents let the children shout until 10 or 11 o'clock at night even on cold dark nights so I don't recommend staying too near the play area, and the showers ate ready for an upgrade but all in all a very good site

Picturesque site but ….
This is a picturesque site surrounded by woodland. It is generally quiet at this time of year with the exception of weekends. The site is well looked after by the wardens. Unlike some other people on site I found the toilet block keypads quite easy to use compared to certain other CC sites.
One of the downsides is that despite the wi-fi rating being bronze we could not access it at all, considering this with the fact that there is no mobile signal either we had to go offsite to use our phones.
Also the toilet/shower block we used, whilst it was always clean, was a little past its sell by date and one cubicle was closed off as the shower unit was coming away from the wall.
Lastly being dog owners we were concerned to see the notices on the toilet block doors stating the following: - “In recent years, during autumn, several dogs walked in woodlands suddenly became ill. In some cases, unfortunately dogs did not recover. Cases of this illness, named Seasonal Canine Illness (SCI) are usually seen from August to November. Please seek immediate advice from your vet if you are concerned about your dog.” Whilst the surrounding woods were ideal for dogs we would not risk our dogs unlike many others who did.
Visitors Centre Off Limits
Having visited Clumber Park on many previous occasions, we were astounded on our last visit to find that the National Trust have started charging 'per person' for access by car to the visitor centre. On previous occasions there has been an agreement that on production of the campsite receipt the entry fee was waived. Now it is prohibitive for us to go on a regular basis for lunch at the café in the visitor centre. So please be aware that there is not the freedom as in previous times. Everything about the actual campsite is as good as it ever was, although the gents showers are still rather more cramped than the ladies.
