Stopover

Only stopped one night seems a nice site wardens lovely we arrived late afternoon and it was no bother. Only off putting thing was tiolets locked with a code and signs saying beware thieves operating in this area! Never experienced that at any other site we have stayed . But read the other reviews it does not seem to worry anyone.

Excellent site

Top marks, no complaints. Great for cycling and walking. Friendly wardens. There is plenty of advance warning that the phone & wifi are next to useless - didn't bother us. I still don't like this "drive around 'til you find a pitch" lark, on Friday evening there was a continuous procession of traffic, some units passing by three times. But a real gem of a site.

Great site

Great site, very clean and warm facilities. The wardens were very welcoming a vast improvement from our last visit a few years ago. Perfect for walking and the fact you can't get mobile signal it means we get to completely relax in the peaceful site! The fish and chip and pizza vans at weekend mean you don't even need to cook if you don't want! Although shop prices are too pricey when there is a Tesco down the road.

Rubber bottles!

Very pleasant week at Clumber Park. Nice and tidy, BUT....... would people who buy wine in rubber bottles please throw them in the bottle recycling bins as hard and noisily as you want to. People who buy wine in glass bottles please put them in the bin quietly before 9.30am as the crashing sound wakes us old fogies, (mainstays of the club during the week) too early. No reception at all on any of our three mobile phones anywhere on site. Yes, old fogies with three phones! We did see BT Openreach laying cables into the site. does this bode well for future phone reception? We will return.

Very Nice Site.

Just had a week at Clumber Park whilst visiting family locally. Very nice site in beautiful setting, particularly if you like to see squirrels! Very quiet in the week but fills up at the week-end with families. Excellent site for families with nice play area and lots of parkland for walks or bike rides. All the children were very well behaved, and it was nice and quiet in the evenings. However, lack of any phone signal and virtually non-existent Wi-Fi is a major downside these days, but maybe that will be addressed eventually.

Clumber Park

Just returned from a couple of nights at Clumber Park Nice site Nice location Just a couple of gripes People walking inches away from our caravan to use as a short cut A very large 5 Wheeler on the next pitch to us switched on a very powerfull and bright light all night long on both nights so it never got dark in our caravan so if your going to clumber look out for it and avoid pltching next to it we would have moved if we were staying longer

Not as advertised

I chose this site because of position, facilities and the fact that it advertises additional cars at £2 each. This was very important as 2 of our party were arriving seperately in their own car containing very expensive musical instruments. On arrival, I was told that no additional vehicles are allowed on site at any cost and the warden was stubbornly resistant even though I explained that “additional vehicles at £2 each” is advertised on the sites web page. He just said that the information provided is incorrect. My friends had to leave their vehicle outside the barriers overnight which put me in a very difficult position as I had promised them otherwise.

Couple of nights whilst passing

2 nights end Sept. This was our 2nd visit to the site, the last one being over 5 years ago !! The site was reasonably empty when we arrived and were quickly checked in. It is clean and well maintained and very peaceful and quiet. The walks around Clumber Park were fantastic as the Autumn sun was shining. The only gripe I have is that there is no phone signal, I appreciate it not the be all and end all but being contactable is a must. I used the on site Wi-Fi but to be honest it would have been quicker sending a carrier pigeon with my messages as the signal was so slow and I was actually pitched next to one of the masts !. All in all though a very enjoyable stay for a couple of nights to break up our journey. So C&MH club please take note and spend a few quid upgrading your technology.
