one warden went overboard in helping me when a part on the van failed, another warden jumped in front of my car yelling at me that there are children on site and to slow down, I was outside the site approaching the barrier, which was down so not speeding, another warden physically run after another camper screaming at the top of his voice regarding speed, I have noticed on other sites some wardens appear to be very rude and aggressive,
on the bright side, a great site and a visit it southwell workhouse is a must, this is a national trust property.
despite a couple of the wardens, we will visit again.

** Pick your dates carefully ** No Sleep Alert **
Having just returned early from a bank holiday weekend I am sorry to say this was the worst Caravan Club trip we have ever had. My family consists of myself, my wife and our 6 and 3 year old, so this site looked perfect.
Unfortunately during this bank holiday weekend it was ruled by gangs of rude children and teenagers allowed to roam around the site littering, swearing and causing as much damage as possible to the facilities and trees within the site. Whilst this was disappointing during the day, it had become threatening and intimidating by 11pm.
This site has the potential to be absolutely idyllic, with the surrounding forest and excellent facilities. Unfortunately until the kerfew rules become enforced, I doubt we will stay here or at any Club site during a bank or school holiday.
Surely there has to be more to do at this beautiful location than simply getting drunk and letting your kids run riot all day and night?
Excellent as ever but for one slight issue
I have stayed here many times & have to say this is my favourite place. The site is spotless & the wardens are always on the go & can't be faulted.
I have just returned home from the site & i had taken my mum with me this time who agreed what a lovely place it was but for getting into the toilet block. Since i last went they have fitted keypads to the toilet doors due to the amount of keys that are getting lost. These keypads are a nightmare - i had to go with my mum each time she wanted to visit the toilet block as she struggled with the keypad, people with children were complaining about them, more or less everyone i spoke to were finding them difficult to use.
Personally i am glad mobile phones don't work here & the wifi is poor ( nice to get away from all these things in my opinion ) but access to the toilets needs a rethink.
Super site but ...
Super site but poor wifi and zero mobile phone reception. Great for dog owners several gates take you into the surrounding woodlands. If a quiet stay is required suggest avoiding weekends.
Beautiful site
We spent a wonderful weekend here at the beginning of May. Woke up each morning to the sound of a cuckoo and lots of other birds, surrounded by trees and bluebells. The site was pretty full but we had a relatively peaceful spot, well away from the (excellent) playground. The wardens were very friendly and they keep the site immaculate: toilet blocks were clean, warm and spotless, grass regularly mown and we saw the wardens walking around the site to check on everything several times over the weekend. This site is a paradise for dogs. Several gates (with dog poo bins)lead out into woodland and it is an easy walk to the main facilities of the National Trust Clumber Park - bike hire (with dog trailer!), cafe, shop etc. But we just loved to walk through the beautiful scenery of Clumber Park., ending up for a coffee and a scone in one of the refreshment facilities in the park or back at our caravan.
We will definitely be coming again!
nice location
This site is very easy to find on the main route, with the scenic drive down through the park to the site it makes it far enough away from the main road that there is no disturbance from traffic noise, located nicely in the park with its woodland surroundings it is ideal for Dogs, walkers and cyclist's, the site is clean and tidy with the children's play area near to facilities & in the main area parents can keep an eye on children, if you don't like the noise of happy playing children pick a pitch further away, but I was pitched virtually opposite play area in a beautiful spot, but with not having children the laughter did not bother me, this is a good site for a peaceful week end and nicely located. will be going again.
Great Site But ....
Had a very enjoyable two night stay here with great woodland walks, ideal with dogs, direct from the site. Very clean and well maintained.
The downside is that despite the wifi rating being bronze we could not access it at all, considering this with the fact that there is no mobile signal either contact with the outside world is difficult.
That said we will certainly visit the site again for short duration stays.
Good break
We had an enjoyable 2 day break here. The shower facilities etc. are first class. The surrounding woodland is perfect for dog walking. There was no phone signal or Wi-Fi available, but that isn't always a bad thing.
