superb site

We always enjoy our stays at Clumber Park. It is easy to get to and located in a beautiful park. There are endless opportunities for walking or cycling on the doorstep. The caravan park has just the right balance of trees and open space and you can always find a good pitch. The wardens are friendly and helpful. If you want to go further afield there are plenty of places to visit. The only drawbacks are no mobile phone reception and tv reception which sometimes, annoyingly, breaks up.

Home sweet home

The Clumber Park site gives us great access to one of our favourite parks. We received the usual warm and friendly welcome and the site was as clean and well maintained as always. We tend to pick quieter periods for our visits to avoid our dog getting over excited. Given the popularity of the site the toilet blocks are now looking a little tired

Lovely site

A lovely site, very clean, big pitches. Facilities were immaculate. If you have dogs, there are miles and miles of walks with huge enclosures 2 minutes walk from the site. The visitor facilities for Clumber Park (national trust) is less then half an hours walk, plenty to do there for kids and adults. Would highly recommend this site.

LOVELY SITE

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my wife and grandson. The site is excellent and the staff very obliging. The facilities are very clean and well maintained including the children's play area. Plenty of space around the pitches so not overcrowded even though the site was full. The site is an base excellent for walks, bike rides and a delight for the little ones too. Will definitely return but there was just one downturn but not with the site itself. We went to the visitors centre and paid around £9:00 to enter in our car, half a mile drive later and a short walk around to see where we would visit first but everything was either closed or closing so we couldn't obtain entrance to any of the facilities there. Why didn't the lady who took our entrance fee inform us of the site facilities being closed and advise us to return the following day. Absolute rip-off and totally disgusted with this and will not return there. Shame because we had a good weekend apart from that.

Fabulous site in a peaceful location with lovely walks through National Trust grounds

We've just returned from a 5 day stay at this lovely site and had 3 beautiful sunny days. The site is spotlessly clean and the pitches, mostly hard standing, are large and level. There was only one toilet block open which was fine during the week. They opened the second toilet block on the Friday in time for the influx of caravanners and motor homers as the site was full. The wardens were so friendly and informative and explained everything in detail. The wi-fi is non-existent and there is no telephone signal, which we found a little difficult as we were expecting visitors and couldn't explain where to meet them. There are some great walks through National Trust grounds and the visitors centre facing the lake is a wonderful place to have a coffee. Thank you. A & J

Return to my old hobby

I have returned to caravanning after 40 years. I am now a widower I thought it would be best to try a shakedown in my new van and I chose a two night stay at Clumber Park. I booked my stay and had a friendly telephone chat with the office staff and explained my situation and concerns and they immediately assured me that there would be help available to me if I needed it. On arrival I was given a warm welcome and directed me to my pitch. With the help of my next door neighbour we set up the services and he then returned home. My new van was completely different to our old Lunar Clubman, no foot pump nor battery wireless. But what it did have was a computer which controlled everything!! Ooh. I am not electronically literate and I quickly realised that the instruction books were written in some secret code, all words which were Chinese to me. I needn't have worried. Two assistant wardens, who had been informed of my ignorance, were gardening near my pitch and called to see if I needed any assistance. They set up my computer panel and I immediately had heating and hot water and a TV booster cable attached to my set. They were good humoured and patiently explained the procedure as they did the work. I cooked a meal and settled down for the evening feeling very settled in my new surroundings. A knock on my door at half past seven from one of the wardens making sure that all was working well really was the icing on the cake. Great service. The site was beautifully maintained and the facilities were all spotlessly clean. Thank you all for making my return to an old hobby such a pleasure. Roll on my first holiday.

Early Spring Break

Had a very enjoyable three day stay arriving on Sunday 12th March. A very warm welcome by the lady warden who promptly booked us in. Facilities very clean although could do with updating at sometime in the future. Pleasant easy walks to the Clumber Park Visitor for coffee and cakes. My only bug bear is the number of members who seem to think that 5mph doesn't apply to them. We saw many elderly members both solo and with a caravan attached, who seemed to think that the site roads are a race track. The worst culprit was an elderly gentleman in a large white Volvo 4x4. Members complain about children on bikes, however a bike will only cause damage but a speeding car will kill. We have been coming to Clumber Park for 30 years and hopefully will do so for another 30 years.

A testing time.

This two day stay at Clumber was part of our time spent picking up and testing our new mobile home. Having spent two previous nights on a nearby Caravan & Camping site where the facilities were naff we eventually found ourselves at Clumber - we were not disappointed and it gave us time to give our new MH a thorough once over and ourselves some time to relax. The nearby National Trust property ( we are members) was a disappoinment, Hardwick Village - seemed out of bounds or should I say 'Private' and the pub was closed. Pity really otherwise the whole estate has a lot to offer but needs a lot of work to get it up to scratch. Would we return to Clumber - yes there is much more to see in the area - all of which was new to us.

2 night break

Booked this for a short break. Directions to the site were explicit and helpful. The wardens gave a friendly greeting and suggested places which would suit our needs. They offered advice and help. All aspects of the site was extremely well looked after and clean. A great site for walking and relaxing.

First outing of the year

Lovely site with really friendly staff, only negative was that there was only one toilet block open. Though the showers and facilities were really good in the one block that was open. Would be good to be able to buy a map showing the Clumber park routes available for walkers though I used my OS map.
