Lovely overnight stay

First time staying here and certainly will be back, immaculate grounds and facilities. We stayed at the top end away from the kids playground, unlike some reviews we didn't have any problems regarding noise issues, found it peaceful and quiet. Friendly staff, my only niggle would be toilet block near us was closed for cleaning 10am til 11.30am, apart from that wonderful stay with good walking areas for our doggy.

Three Nights at Clumber Park

My third visit to this very pleasant site this year. The site staff are excellent one of whom helped fix my fridge on the first visit. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous reviewer with the high pitched screaming on site. You expect children to enjoy themselves but this was over the top. (I am a parent and Grandparent) Also, children riding bikes in pitch darkness fast around the site - if one had been injured I wonder who would have been blamed! Shower blocks have been in need of an update for years! Otherwise, a lovely site.

Noisiest it has ever been.

Although we knew we were near the playground it was noisier than expected due to girls high pitched screaming for most of our stay. Surely the parents of these girls could have heard them as well. Several people whilst we were using the pot wash also commented about this. In our opinion also, the playground should have a cut off time of maybe 8 o'clock as there was constant banging of footballs against the wooden fence at 10 o'clock in the evenings. Also there were children riding round the toilet blocks although there were notices all around forbidding this. It is the worst stay we have ever had on this site due to extensive noise late at night. We have stayed here many times, and with our grandchildren and we have always corrected them if they have been too noisy. Standards of peoples behaviours at this site have definitely gone down.

Our favourite site for a quick breakaway

This is rapidly becoming our go-to site for a quick localish breakaway. Great location with loads of walks and cycle routes. No phone signal means even more peace and quiet although we usually connect just one device to the site Wifi "just in case". The only reason for rating peace and quiet a 4 on this visit was that someone on the other side of the site thought it would be a good idea to play dance music quite loud on a Saturday night. However, it didnt last too long as I suspect they may have got told!! The wardens are always very friendly and welcoming and work hard to keep the site looking good and the facilities clean. It never ceases to amaze me the state some people leave showers and toilets in after use and I dont envy the wardens that job, I believe mid week is much quieter but until we retire completely we wont have the opportunity to experience that. In summary, a great site if you want peace and quiet with lots of walking or cycling thrown in. PS the pizza van on a Saturday evening is excellent but get in quick as they sell out fast!

A lovely gem in the forest

We have just been on a four night stay here and having visited numerous times before and enjoyed the site. I found that this time I felt that the grass pitches were very close together - not sure if the pegs had been moved to fit more pitches in or I am just used to hardstandings! I have always loved the complete lack of a mobile signal on this site and it was lovely to see people interacting with each other rather than having noses stuck in their devices. The cycle tracks around the area are super for all the family and the fact that some of the surrounding roads are closed made it even safer for pedestrians and cyclists. I was a little disappointed with the facilities they looked tired and grubby, I think a little investment in the toilet and shower blocks wouldn't go amiss - for such a busy site they really could benefit from an update, and I don't just mean a coat of paint , a proper overhaul would be nice. I like this site and would possibly return in the future if a little money was spent on it.

Heart of the National Trust Park

First the good bits and there's lots of them, the site is very clean and well maintained, there is a children's play area with basketball court there is also free parking if you have visitors and for those of you with dogs there is a dog walking area adjacent to the site as well as the usual reception shop and general facilities, with a pizza van twice a week. on the opposite side of the road is the entrance to Clumber Park National Trust, a short walk/cycle and you're at the lake and a snack/ice-cream van further along is the main visitor area, this is a great place for walking, cycling, and birdwatching. The only downside is if you want to go elsewhere without a car, Blythe Rd/A614 has no pavement verge or cycle lane

Would highly recommend

We ended up here by default after cutting short our stay at another (non club) site the morning after an evening of other peoples kids repeatedly running across our pitch screaming at 10pm and kicking their football against my scooter and the barbecue! How refreshing Clumber Park was by comparison. Plenty of room around the site and on the pitches, well kept grounds, good facilities and a beautiful forest setting. Really peaceful and quiet - which is commendable given the size of the site, and number of people that must have been there. Phone signals from O2 and Three were non existant, and I had to try two pitches before my satellite dish or terrestrial aerial would pick up a signal to watch England in the Euros - not a problem if you can use the TV connection points around the site though. Will definitely return for a longer, plannned stay.

One of the best

A big thank you to the fabulous staff at Clumber Park! The site is beautifully kept, and they could not be more helpful. Pitches are spacious and laid out around trees to create some shade during the hot weather. I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, exploring the area and the many walks in the Park. Highly recommended for all ages.

Lovely location in the forest

This was our 3rd visit to the site and we have to say it gets better and better. The pitches are large and well maintained,as is the rest of the site. The facilities are 1st class and the staff are very friendly and helpful .There is so much to do in the area and places to visit that we have already booked another stay in September. If you like walking or riding your bikes them is the site to try.

Lovely site in a convenient location

This is a large and family friendly site, however the edges are quieter if that is what you would prefer. The staff are really friendly and the facilities are clean. The site is well drained and despite a huge rainstorm there were no muddy patches. There is no data or phone signal on site at all so you will need to buy the club wifi if you need it. The setting in the forest makes it very peaceful. We will be back.
