What a well kept site!

Our long weekend was all we could have wished for it to be on this beautifully kept Club site. The team of Wardens take a great deal of pride with their constant maintenance and the help they provide to members. The fact that the site was almost full - with many young families present at this time of year, meant that children needed to let of steam and enjoy themselves. This affected the peace and quiet sought by members but was well understood by the older element. Work being carried out rebuilding parts of the college had no adverse effect on our enjoyment but, one area worthy of note - the top of the driveway could be improved with so many vehicles entering the site and leaving it, and the cricket club - has made a series of fairly deep potholes tricky to negotiate with a caravan in tow! Maybe this is one for the Club's estates department?

Cirencester has something for everybody and is a delight to visit whether on foot, or by car from the site. A typical Cotswold market town with all they have to offer. Further afield, there are many other towns and villages and places of interest that deserve a little of peoples' time.

A good second visit

We first visited some years ago on a stopover en route to the south west, but decided we wanted to see more of Cirencester so booked for two nights. Site was far from busy mid week in May so plenty of choice. Warm welcome and very clear instructions given for the route into town through the park. Cirencester was a delight - despite the rain showers. We found a little cafe in the stable yard (down the side of the butchers) just down the little road on the left past the museum. Allowed us in with the dogs as they were not too busy but they also have a courtyard, which was a sun trap when the sun was out! The full breakfast include a coffee and was excellent. The Museum is well worth a visit (we took it in turns to wait with the dogs in the courtyard with the kind permission of the owner) and has some excellent Roman mosaics. Quite a lot of independent shops  and some impressive old buildings.  Nice field for the dogs on site. Facilities on site very good (including the bench seats rather than my bete noir - the plastic stool). Sensible that one block closes in  the morning and one in the afternoon. However, be aware that they start closing up for cleaning ten minutes before 10.30 and if, given the very necessary one way system, you are emptying your motor home at the top block before  you leave and want to quickly nip to the loo before you go, make sure you are in before 10.20!

Comment from The Club

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review and we are sorry to hear your comments concerning the closing times of the toilet block.  I have checked with the Wardens on site who tell me that this toilet block (TB1) is closed for cleaning each day between 10.15 and 12.00 and signs are clearly displayed on the doors to advise members in advance.  It is always a good idea to check the closing times as they do seem to vary slightly from site to site. The other toilet block (TB2) closes for cleaning in the afternoon from 1400 – 1600 which means that facilities are always available.  There are motorhome service points in each of these areas.   I hope this helps to explain the way things work at Cirencester Park and thank you again for leaving a review.

As good as ever!

This is one of our favourite CC sites and only 40 minutes from home so an ideal first trip out with the new boy Sparky (rescue Irish Setter for those not in the know!) to make sure he settles in the van. And he was absolutely fine so we can now start planning some longer trips away. The site is as good as ever; very busy this weekend, but looking great in the sunshine and as always the facilities etc were kept spotlessly clean by the hard working team of wardens. Nice to be able to walk directly through to the park itself again. For those not wanting to do a lot of cooking, the pizza man is there on Thursdays and the pizzas are fantastic if a little pricey. The fish & chip man is new and for a fiver does a great fish, chips & mushy peas with a wedge of lemon and tartar sauce - classy! It was great to see the site so busy, loads of families with kids, loads of dogs, loads of couples with neither all enjoying the sunshine and having a fab time!

Lovely site

We really enjoyed our weekend visit to Cirencester. Although this is a large site it was peaceful and the trees make it feel very rural. There is plenty to do in the area as other people have said. We visited Cirencester town which has lots of quaint Cotswold stone buildings and some interesting history. We will definitely visit again,

A May birthday Treat

This was our first visit to the site and we were very pleased with the facilities and layout. At last some hot water in the showers and for washing up - not always the case these days with CC. Site was quiet during our stay and we found plenty to do in the area - Chedworth Roman Villa (NT), Westonbirt Arboretum, Slimbridge, walk into Cirencester through the parkland; also the Roman Amphitheatre nearby. Had the most amazing hailstorm one evening leaving the site looking like a winter wonderland, but we survived to tell the tale. We don't usually revisit sites very often but we would be tempted to return. Oh by the way, those potholes in the approach road - hang on to your china ladies!

Great site

We stayed here end of May school half term week, it was busy the first weekend as it was the bank holl but then it was half empty, the site is great as you would expect from a club site we stayed on pitch 135 and it's great as there is an area of grass at the back great for sitting out on, some of the pitches do slope but nothing major, there is a large play field for a kick about with the kids and with the park right next door there is miles of walking if that's your thing, the TV reception in good with the bollards and the wardens are helpful, the shop is a little under stocked with milk and bread not alway available but there is a Tescos 5 min away in the car, over all it's a great site and I can see us coming back,

A very nice site in a great location

We recently stayed over the bank holiday weekend and had a wonderful stay. The site is large but not overcrowded and there is ample washroom facilities which meant we never had to wait irrespective of how many people were there (I believe the site was full over the weekend)!! The dog walk on site is excellent and probably the largest fully enclosed area we have encountered at a caravan club site which was perfect for our springer spaniel who likes to escape into the fields/bushes at every opportunity, so it was a relief to sit if fully enclosed. This area and the site was very clean and the noise was quiet throughout although we did here some music on the Sat night from the local cricket club but this cant be helped and is probably not a common occurrence! We stayed on pitch 88 and needed levelling blocks but the pitch was good, spacious but overlooked by a big tree which covered my awning in sticky sap and crawlies from the tree so worth avoiding these pitches if possible. Overall, we were happy with the site and will stay again to visit the local Cotswold areas!

Lovely site

Lovely site   Space for everyone good areas set aside for children and dogs   Pitches great size. You can walk into Cirencester from the site and lots of national trust properties in the area.   Supermarkets nearby   Good helpful wardens keeping the site perfect.  We had satellite but found you could plug in TV at the post if needed.  Very impressed with the site had no idea of the area when booking but was definitely not disappointed would love to return.

Great Site

We started caravanning last month and have made 3 visits to the site totalling 14 nights we like it so much.  It's a very well kept site, the wardens do a super job and even when the site was very busy this weekend the facilities were exceptionally clean.  The access road is very poor and it needs addressing quite soon.  The building work at the college appears to be running behind but didn't impact on our stays.  There is a fabulous mobile wood fired pizza oven visiting every Thursday, but as previously mentioned the Fish and Chip van should be avoided.  We found the TV reception to be poor even when connected up to the Booster, but the wifi connection is excellent.   For those of you who are into fitness the Cotswold Leisure Centre is less than 10 minutes away by car and offers great facilites including a 25M Pool.

Nice site on a hill

This is a typical caravan club site ! Lovely clean well maintained facilities ! 2 toilet blocks nice kids play area ! And friendly wardens ! The approach road is a bit rough and there didn't seem to be many level pitches (motorhomes need ramps) ! The site is about a 30 minute walk into the lovely Cotswold town of Cirencester (but it's a blooming good climb back up the hill on the return) We stayed over Easter weekend and a chip shop van was on site (not the best - over cooked frozen fish & frozen chips) we would definitely use the site again
