Good facilities but should be for price!! Wardens less than welcoming :(

Considering we clearly stated our arrival time (slot) and arrived much earlier than we thought we would - we were not impressed with the welcome. The wardens made it quite clear that we were disturbing their dinner arrangements - in fact despite finding the first pitch we could - they had already closed up the office when I returned for the key! We were not the last to arrive so can only imagine what reception those after us received? Yes the facilities are up to date but at the price the CC charge for this site they should be! The wifi was slow and rubbish - this shouldn't be the case in an area like this.

Shop- tastic !!

A great site in a good location easily accessed from the motorway. Located within a 10 min walk of Cheshire oaks shopping outlet which can easily keep you entertained for a full day, there is also cinema and restaurants there. It is also possible to get the bus to both Chester and Liverpool from the retail park for the very reasonable sum of less than £4 return, you couldn't even park a car for that!! The site is very pleasant clean and tidy all site facilities were maintained to a very good standard, good shower facilities. All in all one of the best cc sites that I have visited so far, will return here.

Quick stay

I only stayed at the sitem for one night so I can't give a huge review.  The site was easy to find and in a lovely quiet position even though very close to the motorway and Cheshire Oaks retail park.  The facilities on site were lovely and clean and the staff helpful and yes I will be going again.

A welcome break

What a friendly site. From the moment we arrived until the day we left we were delighted with this site and its facilities. Despite its proximity to the M53 motorway the site was remarkably quiet in our caravan with the benefit of double glazing. Sitting out was slighly noiser and may be an issue for tent campers especially if you are light sleepers. The dog walk area is an essential necessity as the site access road (Rake Lane) is un-paved and quite busy meaning that dog walking along this needs Hi-Vis clothing to alert road users. We signed up to the site Wi-Fi but found this quite slow possibly due to the site being full and the Euro Soccer tournament and Wimbledon being staged. Would we visit again? Without hesitation! This is a great location especially for its proximity to a wide range of activities for all the family. This was our first visit to the area and we hardly scratched the surface of things that we would like to do. We did have some rain whilst on site and the flat location did give some hardstanding pitches issues with flooding and the grass pitches suffered as well. This needs to be addressed by the Club for the future. Well done to the team who manage and run the site for making our stay such a welcome break.

May break - Perfect location

Loved this site for many reasons...clean, well maintained, large level pitches, great layout, friendly helpful staff but mostly the location. Far enough away from main roads and town to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to a pub, the bus stop and Cheshire Oaks so to explore by walking or bus is easy. Booked again already.

Chester 5 star

A well-designed and beautifully kept site, easy to access and well placed for access to many local attractions. Understandably, it is always popular!

Flooding

Site was very clean with great showers and spotless toilets . The public transport and shopping very close by . Weather was mixed when we arrived on 25th June for 7days we could see the site had quite a lot of retain prior to our arrival .We pitched up on number 57 and all was well untill the heavens opened up and we were completely flooded out we were prisoners in the van as we did not have wellies with us . As we had two dogs with us they had to get out so we had to take our socks of and go ut in our flip flops the dogs thought this was a pond to swim in . What l was disappointed in was the fact the weather forecast was for heavy rain that week and l would have thought that the wardens would have told about this pitch flooding as it has been reported before about flooding . No one from the office even came to see we were alright and when l went down to ask a warden for a brush to try and clear the water he sad yes if it's still there tomorrow l could get one . A couple across from our pitch let us dry out our ground sheet and mat at the side of their van. So beware stay away from 57 the wades said a lot were flooded and it was not just me but l walked round the site and saw 3 pitches flooded.

motorhome problems

Stayed on this site for seven days in June 16. Beautifully clean, toilet block immaculate. Wardens really very nice. Only problem? Motorhomes. We were near to the motorhome service point, and the general water and waste point near to the exit. Why do motorhome owners have to leave their engines running, some very smoky and noisy, whilst they empty and refill their tanks, sometimes taking 10 to 15 minutes. Do they not think of other people who are sitting eating or relaxing? Then they are not satisfied with using just the motorhome waste points, they use all of the water and waste units, often waiting in line, but of course still leaving their engines running. Please motorhome owners, think of others.

A little jewel

a delightful site in a rural setting within walking distance to a shoppers paradise and a stones throw from the motor way and yet it was peaceful, tranquil and so clean, pretty with friendly staff.  I would definitely return, we felt like we had been on holiday.....we only live 8 miles away, but we needed to test the van:  it was an excellent choice.
