Great winter location

Great location for a winter visit. Shopping on adjacent centres has something for everyone as well as an extensive choice of places to eat. Easy access to Chester, Liverpool, New Brighton, West Kirby and Hoylake. The views across the Mersey and Dee in the setting sun were spectacular.

stop over for xmas shopping

Good position for Chester Oaks shopping centre ,a site with a lot of traffic noise but with enough redeeming features to make it a worthwhile place to visit Chester, Liverpool , shopping centres etc.

Black Friday

We last stayed here 2 years ago and since then the toilets have been refurbished complete with piped music (Radio 2!). The site itself is quiet but within earshot of the busy nearby motorways but this did not concern us or impact upon our break. The site has a few extra hard pitches but as mentioned previously in another review the drainage has not been addressed. CCTV is obvious by the entrance and the toilet block but if this type of security is required why is the site so poorly lit? The wardens worked hard and keep the site immaculate. The site itself is within walking distance of places to eat and the shopping outlet. However I really wish that the Caravan Club would take notice or at least acknowledge our reviews?

Good but dark!!

Excellent showers/toilets. Excellent position with easy access to the site. However the site is extreemly dark and several potholes which could be quite dangerous. Surface water is also a problem - it is a pitty that while the site was recently closed for months to improve the toilets that surface drainage was not sorted. Very good site but needs to improve lighting and surface darinage.

Well Worth a Visit

A really good site which is easily accessed from the motorway network. However be aware it can be extremely busy at weekends due to the Outlet traffic. The site is very handy for the outlet (short 10 min walk) and 3 restaurant/pubs - Old Hall carvery very acceptable! From the outlet you can catch half hourly buses to both Liverpool and Chester. (X8) The site facilities are very good, spotless and warm. The site wardens are very helpful. A great site and 'we will be back'!

Lovely Site

Great location (short distance from the motorway). very clean site and the staff are helpful. Would certainly put it on my list to revisit in the future. Would definitely recommend staying at this site if you are visiting Chester and the designer outlet is only a short distance (approx. 10 minute walk). Was disappointed with The Rake pub near the site (nice surroundings but the food not value for money)but there is a Harvester pub over the road (will probably try that one on a return visit to the site)

Signage

This is an excellent site, the wardens are super and the facilities are immaculate. We do however wish to comment on the signage.  We arrived after dark from the M53 and although driving very carefully we were past the entrance to the site before we saw the sign which is quite small and only visible when you are right at it. There was other traffic on the road behind us so reversing was not an option. We had to continue on to the A41 before being able to turn. We then discovered that there is no site sign when coming back ! There may be planning issues about the size and location of signs at the site, but hopefully our comments may help other members not to make the same mistake as they approach Chester Fairoaks in the dark.

A lovely break

Just returned home from a weeks break at this site. Nice site, excellent facilities (modern spotlessly clean toilet block), a little noise from motorway & John Lennon airport (not really a problem). Good for visiting the walled city of Chester, Port Sunlight (Lever soap brothers village), National Waterways museum, Liverpool & of course the Cheshire Oaks shopping outlet village. Lots of choice for eating close by from large chain pubs to Italian restaurants etc. Note traffic on main road by shopping village can be chaotic at weekends. Will hopefully visit one day again in future.

Lovely birthday weekend

We arrived to this beautiful site to a nice warm welcome from the warden and had a choice of a few spacious  pitches once pitched up on this very peaceful site we had a quick walk (10mins)to Cheshire oaks outlet village which is a great shopping adventure. There is a pub about 5 mins walk from the site to get reasonably priced  meals and drinks. The next day after a peaceful  sleep we had a wander around the very well kept site and used the spotless facilities with lovely hot showers and plenty  of cubicles and toilets for busy periods. There is bus stop in Cheshire oaks that can take you into chester town centre but as a birthday treat we visited Chester zoo which was a brilliant day out. A great choice of site for the location for food, shopping and a great getaway. See you soon

Xmas Shopping Trip

Lovely site well maintained by friendly wardens. Toilet Block first class, very warm and with pleasant music to entertain whilst shaving etc. Some traffic noise but this would only be an inconvenience if sitting out in the sun during the summer. Location brilliant for shopping at Designer Outlets, and also in Chester. Zoo close and Blue Planetarium plus easy to get to Liverpool on X8. Can be an expensive place to stay with all the shops, eating establishments and Cinema. Perfect spot for what we wanted.
