Lovely clean site well worth a visit

This is our second stay at this site and still lived up to our expectations. Shower/toilet block was very clean and loved listening to the music whilst using the shower. Would easily recommend this site to anyone as it is very close to the designer outlet and also the Harvester pub across the road is a good place to visit for an evening out. The food is also delicious. Looking forward to the C&MC site opening in December so I can book again for 2018!!!

Still disappointed

A continuation of the previous review, I have never seen so many variations of rear offside to the peg as on this site !!!!! Why give this instruction when so many just please themselves which way they pitch ????

Disappointed

Firstly disappointed to see none of the staff wearing Poppy's for Remembrance Day, but this is a mater of personal choice. The site itself has a lot of flooded pitches which made it difficult to find a decent one without water lying on it, they seem to have a serious drainage problem which needs some attention. The facilities were up to the usual club standard, and although we didn't see much of the wardens, they were very pleasant when spoken too. It was noticed that a lot of the RULES were not abided by, speeding, a caravan with no occupants being left for over a week, and obvious sub letting, which wasn't only noticed by ourselves. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for your review. We are very glad your visit was a pleasant one and hope you return again soon.

The site staff have been in touch as they work hard to ensure everyone has a wonderful time at Chester Fairoaks and want to clear up any misunderstanding.

The site staff that were on duty during your stay did have their poppies, which on the days on and around Remembrance Day were attached to their fleece. On a site as busy as Chester, and with the weather needing coats and fleeces on and off, aprons on for cleaning etc., it was difficult to change their poppies for different activities but please be assured they wore their poppies with pride.

A site like Chester, which has very flat level pitches, can occasionally experience a few problems when heavy rain occurs as has been the case of late. To put your mind at ease, we only have 4 pitches that are known to flood and have standing water for a period of some hours after such conditions. Please note, there remains 85 pitches that are fully operational and do not flood.

Regarding subletting please contact us or the site directly to discuss any concerns as the site staff are not aware of this. They were only aware of one van on site not occupied during your stay, which was due to a medical emergency.

The site staff hope to welcome you back to Chester long into the future, and if you ever have any concerns again, please feel free to discuss with the staff on site who will always be happy to clarify any issues you may be experiencing.

Great weekend with friends

We have just got back from an amazing weekend away with friends. The site was up to the usual high standard, although some pitches were slightly under water due to exceptionally heavy rain overnight on Saturday. The wardens were most helpful and managed to get us sited opposite our friends who had been there four days before we arrived. The toilet blocks were immaculate and warm and cosy having been recently renovated. Lots to do in the area. Excellent for serious shoppers, having Cheshire Oaks and a huge M and S close by. We also enjoyed a trip into Chester to do our regular tour of the walls and river. Went to Stanney woods to walk the dog, where we saw dozens of squirrels running riot, as well as spotting a wide variety of birds, including a woodpecker.... Without a doubt we will be back soon to sample more of the delights this area has to offer.

Nice

Stayed here 10 years ago - Should have revisited much sooner. Friendly, helpful staff keep a well maintained and clean site. Only downside was that we did not realize until our return that Club members receive a 20% reduction on their food bill at the adjacent Raikes hall. Would not have been so bad had we not have eaten a nice meal there.

Excellent Lare Autumn Break

Lovely site, well tended by the two wardens. On arrival the warden took time out to advise us on available pitches as the site was quite busy, it saved us a lot of hassle! The husband and wife team were always very helpful and happy to chat, a pleasant change. The site was kept very tidy and was very well located to visit Chester by Bus from opposite or from the Park and Ride a few minutes drive away. It was easy to get around to tour the area due to it’s proximity to an excellent road network and nearby motorway interchange. The was no noise from the traffic at all, though a couple of plains from Liverpool airport did pass over during the day. Thanks for a great break!

Great site

Great site, easy access, near to Chester and Cheshire oaks. Wardens were extremely friendly, showers were fantastic, really clean. Some pitches quite flooded, so drainage an issue in wet weather but not the sites fault. Pubs nearby for food, but pub chain food. Would go again without a doubt.

WONDERFUL 10 NIGHT STAY

THIS WAS OUR FIRST STAY ON THIS SITE. VERY CLEAN AND TIDY.FRIENDLY WARDENS ON CHECK-IN AND OUT. LOTS OF PLACES TO VISIT IN THE AREA. ENJOYED THE WALK AROUND CHESTER WALLS AND THERE ARE LOTS OF SHOPS TO VISIT IN CHESTER IF THAT'S WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO. DID WITNESS FROM OUR PITCH THAT THERE ARE STILL QUITE A LOT OF PEOPLE NOT STICKING TO THE SPEED LIMIT SAW ONE GUY GOING ALONG LIKE HE WAS IN WACKY RACES, IT'S NOT ON AS ALL MEMBERS KNOW WHAT THE SPEED LIMIT IS SO WHAT IS THE HURRY? BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN COMING IN AND OUT OF SITE ENTRANCE AS THERE IS A BLIND CORNER UP TO THE LEFT AND THERE AGAIN THERE ARE SPEEDERS ON THAT ROAD TOO! REALLY ENJOYED OUR 10 NIGHT STAY AND THE FISH AND CHIPS FROM THE VAN WHICH VISITS ON SITE ON MON AND THURS!

Fifteen minutes walk from Cheshire Oaks and The Coliseum shopping and entertainment complex.A pub practically on the doorstep serving great value food and lovely staff too. There are oodles of other food outlets on the way to Cheshire Oaks. Four pounds all day travel ticket bought on the bus ,get the bus to Chester and Liverpool next to McDonalds at Cheshire Oaks takes twenty five minutes and stops at Chester Zoo.If you have a dog there is a secure mini field by the entrance also very clean. This site was a little piece of heaven for us. Thank you.

Brilliant Site

What a brilliant site - not just the excellent facilities, the convenient location and the peaceful atmosphere, but the special wardens. we arrived later than expected due to a puncture the night before requiring us to have a new tyre fitted the morning of our journey and subsequent traffic hold-ups throughout our journey. We entered reception to be welcomed by a friendly face who made us feel instantly welcome and our stress immediately started to ebb away. She recommended a particular pitch to us (which she could see from reception) and said that if we decided to use that one she would bring the access fob over to us when she saw us pitching up. We looked at the available pitches and found the one recommended was, indeed, the best and started to pitch. Before we had even unhitched the caravan her husband appeared with the fob and more pleasantries. Throughout the week we experienced the same friendly, helpful attitude and it made our holiday complete. Thank you.
