Stately Site

We stayed at Chatsworth for three nights and found the site to be well organised and spotlessly clean. The facilities are first class and well managed. Wardens are friendly and helpful. Having a key to enter the Chatsworth estate via the gate is a nice touch and gives you immediate access to the house and the vast grounds. Location is perfect for visiting the house and gardens, well worth the visit, and of course you get a reasonable discount to these for staying on site, not to mention the voucher for the shops. They are very strict on entry time due to the narrow approach, but if you read the CC book it does make this abundantly clear. Lovely site, would definitely return.

The best site we have been too

This is an excellent site, well laid out offering privacy to many pitches due to the hedges inbetween. There is quite alot of pitches that suffer from shade due to the large trees. The only problem I have with the cc is a lack of consistency across sites. We stayed at Troutbeck Head in July, caravans were arriving as early as 10:30 and people were parking their caravans anyway they wanted. At Chatsworth if you get there before 1pm, you will have to wait until 1pm before you are allowed to check in. I have no problem with this, but there should be some consistency. As for some reviewers complaining of children making a lot of noise, we hardly noticed them on our stay, I think kids playing outdoors is to be encouraged. We will be definetley returning to this gem of a site.

Good site

Good site and nice to just be able to walk into Chatsworth and wander round the estate (plenty of people on the estate due to the nice summer evenings but not busy- grounds open to all). Good site facilities. Our dog didn't enjoy the ducks invading his privacy so we didn't encourage them! Go to the Cafe on the Green in Baslow (15 min walk) for breakfast from 9.30 - very good and dog friendly. Edensor tea rooms (10 mins walk) very nice and you can book in advance (dog friendly) but pricier than in Baslow.

Usual high standard

But with a bit of additional noise this time as the site was very busy.  The site is so perfect in all respects that I had to balance the comment with a negative... This one is for the CC in general; can you move to no petrol powered vehicles to collect rubbish, it would be good for the environment and better for my ears :-)

Fantastic

Had an amazing time here, absolutely beautiful site, usual top facilities from the caravan club, best yet! Amazing setting with direct access to the grounds of Chatsworth, and a 15min walk to the beautiful village of Baslow. Would definately recommend.  They have a small childrens park, very small but fine for younger children.

Fantastic site

We have stayed at Chatsworth site several times now and have always been very impressed. The facilities are spotless and the site managers are always very accommodating and helpful. Location wise, the site is brilliant for access to the grounds at Chatsworth. Our dog is in her element there! Thoroughly recommend this site and will be frequent in there again in the not too distant future hopefully.

Just lovely

What can I say, you can see why this is such a popular site. With the back gate opening on to the Chatsworth Estate and just a short walk to the house it's ideal. The site it's self is lovely but very busy so if you arrive late on you only have a small choice of pitches. There was no waiting for the showers even though there is only one shower block for the whole site.  Also the local pubs do great food if you fancy a night off from cooking! Lovely site can't wait to go back.

Lovely site

Lovely well kept site & nice friendly staff too. Lovely clean toilet/shower block Walking around Chatsworth grounds and surrounding area is wonderful. The only problem is if you cant get to the site early all the best pitches are gone, dueto this we were two pitches up from the children s play area, the screaming and shouting was deafening, why parents allow their children to make so much noise baffles me, I've had two and I just wouldn't let mine get away with it, this plus late night revelers somewhat spoilt it for us. Most of the pitches have overhanging trees so everything gets covered in sticky tree sap, so it does pay to get there early and get the better pitch - Rant over. All in All a great site
