A lovely site for all.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Chatsworth and it is still a little beauty in the clubs profile. We arrived on Friday evening and after a friendly greeting from the. Staff we finished pitching up and were treated to a free fireworks display compliments of the Boy Scout and girl guide movement who were enjoying their jamboree in the fields around the estate. A fine day on Saturday where we walked to the village of Edensor on the estate. A couple of showers in the afternoon kept us near home but didn't dampen our spirits.  The facilities were as usual immaculate and the surroundings were neat and peaceful none of the usual mowing of grass that can sometimes be witnessed on some sites. This is a good site for both walkers and cyclists as you can now cycle on the tarmac roads on the estate, you can cycle or walk for as long or as short as you wish and still get to see loads of attractions along the way. My only negative was the ' laughing hyena ' who was in the awning of the unit next door she could be heard incessantly laughing all evening and into the night, she could even be heard cackling on the dog walk- either she was being tickled to death or was easily amused! Please remember all you say and do in your awnings can be heard by others. I would love to return to this site but it is so hard to get weekend availability.

Great for the ducks.....

Enjoyed another very nice stay. A number of members obviously not happy about the evening music from the adjacent Scout and Guides Peak camp and had complained to the Wardens. If they had read the Important Notes which are on the CC website for Chatsworth it was clearly stated that this event was on durin this period and may produce some "noise". These are the some of the best of our young people enjoying themselves and learning to be good citizens......a shame some people can't people be more tolerant ! Anyway, it didn't concern us at all and we had a great time and particularly enjoyed the great free firework display on the last night. How lovely to have a mother duck and her 4 little chicks visiting our pitch every day.

Best site ever

If you haven't visited Chatsworth then get on down there and you'll see why it's so difficult to get in. This is the Jewel in Crown. Some pitches are a bit tight so think about going for a super pitch. Also worth checking what's on in the park when you book.

One of the best

Fantastic location a walled oasis in Chatsworth Park grounds.  Excellent facilities, thoughtful layout and well run by friendly staff.  Lovely atmosphere: tame birds come to your feet for bird feed, deers roam the beautiful landscape with picturesque views of Chatsworth House from the adjacent parkland. Going to do this one again at some point.

Wow

Loved this site. Stayed mid July and got great weather. Great for walking and delighted to be able to cycle on some of the paths in Chatsworth Park. We just loved everything about it - the whole set up. All the very tame birds were brilliant - saw blackbirds "sunning" themselves in the most amusing poses (Had to look up the RSPB website to find out what they were doing!). A pheasant, ducks, blackbirds and numerous little birds there to eat the seed, just great. Also the deer in the park and as for the gold paint on the windows of Chatsworth house shining in the evening sun, lovely. I really hope to be back again and next time to do the tour of the house and gardens. Thanks for a brilliant few days.

Good Short Break

We have wanted to visit this site for a number of years but has always been booked up. Found that we had 4 days available that matched with availability. Lovely site with clean facilities and although there was a scouting event with 8,000 scouts in attendance in the park there was very little disruption. Some walking areas were restricted. Good access to a bus in Baslow or at Chatsworth House. Both within walking distance. Club discount at Chatsworth House was appreciated and we enjoyed our day at that property. Would visit again even though only 1 hour from home.

Chatsworth

This is the second time we have stayed at this site and cannot fault it, The wardens are very friendly and the site and toilets are immaculate. Its handy for Buxton and Bakewell as well as your own key to the grounds at Chatsworth and a nice walk in to the house and gardens which you have to pay for, its always difficult to get bookings but glad we managed it again

Glad to be back

Perfect for visiting Chatsworth itself, the park and surrounding area. Numerous walks from the site. Friendly wardens on a well kept site, with clean facilities. This site is very popular so booking ahead for a specific date is probably a good idea. Usually full at weekends and very busy during school holidays when it can be somewhat noisy. Good, clean dog walk, but maybe the entrance gate could be moved further in and separate from the park access gate as the pitch next to it did suffer from a smelly area by the gate, and from the bin nearby, as well as constant coming and going. Have visited several times over the years and will always enjoy returning.
