Perfect site

We had a great stay at Chatsworth Park Caravan Club Site. Staff where friendly and helpful, wash rooms kept to a very high standard. Plenty to do in the area set in a beautiful part of the country. A must for any caravanner. Discount for entry into Chatsworth House. We have booked to visit again in December Can't wait

Recent Stay

A beautiful site set in a lovely location. The back gate which leads into the grounds of Chatsworth House is brilliant as it gives you immediate access to fantastic parkland and a traffic free way to get to the village. Good discount given off the Chatsworth House entry price and well worth a visit. The staff and the cleanliness of the site are first class. Due to the entry system that is in operation a lot of people tend to leave at the same time and a second motorhome emptying point would be a useful addition. A Great Site!

Great - even during a foggy November

Our first visit. Bit of a queue on weekend of Chatsworth Fireworks.  Not a problem.  Excellent welcome from staff.  We booked a super pitch but unfortunately we couldn't choose as only 1 left.  Next to showers/toilet block which were fantastic.  Alarm going off early morning bit annoying. Lovely busy atmosphere on site. Nice to see ducks pheasants and squirrels.  Bit scary walking through Chatsworth grounds to fireworks.  Some lights in the wall would be helpful.  Fortunately cars leaving in our direction to walk back.  Noisy leaf clearing - bit much really.  Staff in office/shop were lovely.  We visit Chatsworth very often but this was our first stay here. Would not hesitate in returning. Lots of places to visit from here.  It is all very familiar to us but we never get bored coming to Derbyshire.   Will be back

Great location

We booked this site for it's proximity to Chatsworth House and we we not disappointed. Having a motorhome it is always nice to be able to park up and walk to nearby attractions which we could easily do from here. Plus the bonus of being able to walk into the village of Baslow with its range of pubs, a coffee shop and small store. The site is located in the Chatsworth Park which is open to the public for very pleasant walks with the bonus of a variety of wild life on view. We found the site to be maintained to a very high standard and very clean at all times. We were visiting in November so no children were on site but occupancy was still high. Throughout our 2 day stay plenty of site cleaning and maintenance was going on to ensure the high standard was maintained, this was unobtrusive at all times. One observation to be aware of, if you use a satellite dome, there are a lot of tall trees all around the site so careful selection of your pitch is required to get a reception. We noticed that most caravans were connected to the site tv aerial system so presumably Dtv reception is difficult with van roof ariels. We really enjoyed the site and will be returning next year to enjoy the Chatsworth House and garden again in a different season of the year.

Our favourite retreat!

Absolutely love this site! Perfectly clean and well kept! Fantastic wardens, friendly and always on hand to help! Walk straight into Chatsworth Estate or Baslow! Meet the ducks pheasants and squirrels on site or the deer, cows and sheep on the estate! Lots to do and see, no two days the same on this site! :)

Great location

We stayed for a couple of days in October, and the site was lovely. A warm welcome was received. The 'secret door' leading to the grounds of Chatsworth was a great bonus, meaning that we could walk  to Chatsworth, where the children enjoyed the adventure playground and farmyard. Great, clean facilities. Faultless!

Visiting this weekend with the dog

We shall be staying at Chatsworth from this Sunday, having visited many times over the last few years with our dog Bentley. As with the comments below, we agree that it's a lovely site, great walks etc. But some of the comments regarding the dog walk area are a little strange - if your dog has a tendency to 'run off' & posilbly go back into the site !! - then there is only one answer... Keep it on a lead.

Only the weather marred this trip

Lovely site within an old walled garden, very secure for children with first class facilities as is usual for the Caravan Club. Helpful approachable wardens on site, small shop for essentials for personal, food, caravan needs. The dog walking area is not as secure as it could be near the gate, as they could easily get through the fence and back into the main site if they were spooked/distracted or indeed into the main estate if anyone was coming back into the park through the estate gate. Overall this was a lovely half term break and will definitely be back soon.

Atmospheric Halloween stopover

We managed to get a last-minute booking at Chatsworth last Friday when Poolsbrook was full. What an unexpected treat! The walled tree-filled site is charming, and the vans decorated for Halloween added to the atmosphere. We were delighted to find that the Chatsworth gardens are dog-friendly so we and the pooch had a lovely couple of hours exploring. At night the rutting stags bellowing just added to the sense of being an extra on Autumnwatch. Only one minor gripe - the dog-walk is fenced but only with post and rail not with wire netting, so an excitable dog could run back into the site. Since dogs must be on lead in the country park a securely-fenced run would allow our dog to have a ball-chase after hours cooped up in the motorhome. But we'll be back next year to use the discount on the full day tickets to Chatsworth.
