Tranquility to recharge the spirit

Pure delight, able to get out and walk the extensive Chatsworth Park and visit the local area so much to see and do. Facilities excellent, thought not much guidance on recycling. The peace and quiet is a tonic though the stags had other ideas, which proves how tranquil the site is. Ducks, pheasants, wildlife everywhere. Will be back

Pitch transfer

Managed to get a last minute online booking for last Saturday night, on a different pitch type, to my Friday night booking.  The wardens appeared to go out of their way to try to retain the same pitch for the 2 consecutive nights.  While in the end they were unsuccessful, but moving pitches in our Motorhome was no problem at all, and I just wanted to acknowledge, and thank them for, their efforts.  Otherwise nothing really to add on the positive front regarding the site, that hasn't already been said.  Richard

A Gem

This is a very popular site and its easy to see why. Good location for visiting the Peak District and especially good for visiting Chatsworth House which is walking distance away. Good pitches. Immaculate shower blocks. Friendly staff. What's not to like? We have two small daughters and the only criticism that I could make would be that the children's play area could do with revamping and a few swings adding. Other than that - spot on.

Beautiful Site

We spent 2 nights at this site last week, which wasn't long enough!  The wardens work very hard keeping this site spotless, and very well maintained.  Access to the estate is excellent, we walked for miles, and really enjoyed our stay.  We will no doubt return.

First Time but not the Last

Absolutely loved our 5 night stay here.   Loved being able to wander through the locked gate directly onto the Chatsworth Estate.   Visited the Chatsworth Farm Shop, some lovely produce but very expensive even with the 10% discount. We had a serviced pitch, may not bother as some of the normal pitches had nicer locations.  Looking forward to visiting again next year, especially as we live less than an hour and a half away.

Autumn at it's best.

We stayed here last week, for a week. Our second visit this year. Chatsworth is one of our favourites. The wardens work hard to keep the place in good order and it's appreciated. The wonderful estate is so scenic and to hear the rutting deers, in many locations, in the park was like something out of Countryfile. The well stocked shop has some great local bread cakes etc. The 10% discount in the farm shop for club members staying on site was welcome too. See you next season......

Another lovely stay at Chatsworth Park

This is our 4th visit to Chatsworth Park. We went Sunday to Sunday, from past experience you cant get on the park till 1pm, as one way in/out. Leave at 12 noon. Warm welcome from Wardens, we were behind a fair few other caravans which must have turned up before 1pm, but they still wont let you on site till 1pm, and rightly so. After booking in it's a matter of finding a pitch which is free. We managed to find a nice spot, big end pitch, plenty of room for car, caravan awning and grass to the side & back of van on the toilet block row. Please remember, this site has a lot of trees, not many pitches are tree free, but as it was October, you don't expect hot sunny weather where you can catch the rays. Shower block the usual std for caravan club. You choose your pitch then tell wardens who will give you gate key for access to Chatsworth Estate where you have lots of walking paths. You can now also ride your pedal bike on the estates paths, not the grass areas. We love this site. While we were there, there was actual tree felling one day which was noisy for a couple of hours, in fact I wish there was more, some of the trees are huge, so a few feet chopped off the top would not harm, but this would not deter us from visiting again. We will be back in 2016, trying a different month, been in May, Oct, twice in November, it's good to see the estate at different times of year. You also get discount to the house & garden if you show your receipt at the ticket office, it was £14 this year (£20) normal adult price without receipt, which enables you to visit the house & gardens, and is well worth the visit if you have never been, especially in the summer months as the gardens are lovely. There is lots of walks around the estate too.

Great for walking, if you are planning to tour the house then the discount is a real bonus. Only up the road from us but well worth a visit, we will return.

We had a great holiday at Chatsworth

Excellent site. Very well run. The autumn colours in the park and watching and hearing the deer in rut, fabulous. So much to do in the rest of the Peak District. Cycling, walking, exploring. We come back every year.
