Brilliant weekend, stags in full rut.

Great site in a superb location. We had the bonus of seeing and hearing the stags on the deer park..Autumn watch at first hand. Easy walk to the big house or the nearby villages. Devonshire Arms in Baslow was very good. Dog friendly including doggie treats. Nice pint and the food looked good. Site was always clean. Very friendly and helpful wardens. We have booked to come back next month.

Fantastic site and location

Great location and you can walk or cycle directly through the grounds, enjoy the deer rut and sheep from your van as we could from our pitch by the wall. Walk to local pubs through the park without touching the road. Staff friendly and site immaculate. Single track entrance road so head the instructions not to arrive before 1pm and you will be fine! Must visit site.

Another fantastic stay

We arrived last Sunday and joined a long queue of others waiting to check in, the wardens were fantastic at managing this and checking everyone in as quickly as possible. Such a great place, fantastic walks in the park and Stand Wood. The Monsal Trail was enjoyable and we visited Bakewell several times, with market day on the Monday. The Chatsworth Farm Shop and Cafe is well worth a visit and a 10% discount for caravan club members. Wardens were friendly and very hard working. Toilets spotless. We look forward to our next visit

Beautiful walks

Not sure how many times we have revisited this site but that in its self speaks volumes as we love this place.  One of the first things you will notice about it is that all the people are incredibly friendly always shouting a "Hi!" or offering a smile. Then you have the added advantage of having Chatsworth House at your doorstep so please what more could you ask for?  Lovely pubs within walking distance and also the local buses run close too which is perfect if you want to visit Bakewell or you could pick up the Monsal Trail if you like cycling? A must visit in December as all the Caravans and Motorhomes are bedecked with Christmas lights (as is the House itself) without looking tacky.  Can't wait for our next visit!

Fantastic site

We loved the site with our own key to the estate. The deer were in rut which made it even more exciting and brilliant for photos. We only booked for 3 nights thinking it would be enough but we will have to go back to check out so much more we could have done.

Long weekend

Just returned from another wonderful stay at this very popular site and it's easy to see why, very quiet apart from Sat morning (run or dye event). Site very clean and well kept with polite, hard working wardens. We find lots to do and never tire of this area, hope to return in November.

Wonderful site. Too many rule breakers.

We feel lucky and privileged that Chatsworth Park Caravan Site is only a few miles away from where we live and is our closest site. As a result we have just returned from our 4th stay this year. I have read though with great frustration the comments about this years wardens - they are by far the nicest, friendliest and most hard working wardens we've experienced in the last 15 years we've been caravanning at Chatsworth. Also frustrating is it only takes us minutes to get from home to the site I'm able to time our arrival to bang on 1pm. Yet again however after turning off the road at 1pm and passing the sign saying  'strictly no arrivals before 1pm' how frustrating it was to get to the end of the lane to find 7 - SEVEN - units in front of me!! We then had a wait of 25 minutes in the queue waiting to book in. I think the units in front of me either couldn't read or more likely feel that the rules apply to everyone else but them and I think it's incredibly rude to then complain that the wardens have mentioned this rule to them. To say you've travelled a long way is a ridiculous excuse - we travelled to Devon this year and realised a few miles away that we would be early so parked up and waited because we respect the rules unlike other people. On a positive note if you've never been to Chatsworth it really is worth the effort - it's a beautiful site in a stunning location.

Great Site

What a great Quiet site Very Friendly staff A Key to the secret door in the wall to the Estate which my wife loved ! We will be returning to this site again many times The entrance to the site is a little narrow however if you follow the request to only enter after 1PM there is a member of staff on the entry route with communication to another in the cobbled courtyard to assist with any bottlenecks that may accrue on entry to the site and also the offer of friendly advice on how to tackle the bridge and the courtyard walls without any mishaps excellent site lovely stay

What's not to like

We wanted to visit Chatsworth so this site is excellent. You have your own key to access the Chatsworth Estate, like The Secret Garden. As a caravan club member you get a discount into the house. The staff were efficient, helpful & pleasant. The usual CC attention to detail, good shower/loo facilities.

Pleasant stay but not a pleasant welcome

We arrived at the campsite entrance with signs 'strictly' this and 'strictly that' so we were worried arriving 15 minutes before 1pm ... Oh dear. The warden greeted us devoid of warmth or friendliness or understanding of having towed 1.5 tonne caravan 200 miles up and down Derbyshire gradients .. we weren't expecting a brass band but a hello or welcome would have been better than 'you are 15 minutes early' .. then we were made to wait that 15 minutes to be booked in. A warden stood and watched us pitch our caravan and when we finished agitatedly told us we had to line up with a white peg. So .... We did move in line with a peg and a helicopter flew over and we wondered if that was another warden with a high velocity rifle in case there were any more infringements. Luckily the facilities are immaculate better than a hotel, warm shower block, I mean hot and showers you dream about compared to some sites. Owners are obviously very proud of their site, rightly so, this is a truly fantastic site, but maybe lost sight of customer facing skills for anyone who inadvertently steps out of line. Return? Yes definitely.
