Pleasant stay but not a pleasant welcome

We arrived at the campsite entrance with signs 'strictly' this and 'strictly that' so we were worried arriving 15 minutes before 1pm ... Oh dear. The warden greeted us devoid of warmth or friendliness or understanding of having towed 1.5 tonne caravan 200 miles up and down Derbyshire gradients .. we weren't expecting a brass band but a hello or welcome would have been better than 'you are 15 minutes early' .. then we were made to wait that 15 minutes to be booked in. A warden stood and watched us pitch our caravan and when we finished agitatedly told us we had to line up with a white peg. So .... We did move in line with a peg and a helicopter flew over and we wondered if that was another warden with a high velocity rifle in case there were any more infringements. Luckily the facilities are immaculate better than a hotel, warm shower block, I mean hot and showers you dream about compared to some sites. Owners are obviously very proud of their site, rightly so, this is a truly fantastic site, but maybe lost sight of customer facing skills for anyone who inadvertently steps out of line. Return? Yes definitely.

Wonderful site

We arrived on a Sunday (one of busiest days to arrive). But the system the wardens have place make the process of checking in easy and painless due to the great communication between the wardens and two way radio. The site as always is kept immaculate. The are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We wanted to stay a few more days but the site was fully booked . The wardens said they would let us know. The following day one of them came to the caravan to let us know they had had a cancellation. All in all a lovely and friendly wardens.

Autumnal Magnificence

This was our second stay at Chatsworth and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived at 1:45, no queuing at all and we were pitched by 2:15, great! The wardens were very friendly and helpful and obviously work very hard to maintain the facilities and appearance of the site. Well done! Our stay this time was made all the more special by the fantastic weather and the autumnal display of colour inside the Chatsworth House Estate. The farm shop is really worth a visit, so too is Bakewell (try the Bakewell pudding - yummy). All in all, a great site and fantastic location

Great Location rename it Jobsworth Park though!

DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY!!! We did 12:30 and was told to go away by an inflexible (female) warden Now I understand rules are there for a reason but some sites are 12:00 and being Caravan Club Sites I would think it 'logical' to have these times standardised so as to avoid this confusion Now that said we were told to go and park up at the Chatsworth House Car Park approx 2 miles away. To exit the site meant driving around the site's one way system imagine my surprise/annoyance to see empty pitches that we could have set up in especially as they weren't being serviced at this time by staff The reason we were given was "people would complain" now I don't think I would mind new arrivals coming in at 12:30 any more than I do at 6:30pm but hey who am I ?? On exiting the site as instructed I was flagged down by the lady wardens Husband (the significance of introducing himself as that escapes me) to be told that I was speeding...#@#£ speeding ?! the lawn mowers go faster However we returned at 1pm as instructed after some ranting on my part  only to find ourselves at the back of a 7-10 vehicle queue which we could have been at the front of if we'd stayed at the barrier Not a great start to an extended weekend but a great location with the right staff (Jobsworths needn't apply) it would be a great site On the morning we were leaving at about 10:30 whilst having a coffee before setting off we were asked if we could move our chairs so the tractor driver could cut our section of grass Again another example of the inflexible attitude that we experienced at Jobsworth Caravan Site We might go back or apply to be Wardens so as to do it properly Now who's a happy camper then? Rant Over

Great site shame about the noisy tractors

We have stayed at Chatsworth Park many times and will continue to do so. Lovely site in a great location. Normally a relaxing holiday but this visit, last weekend was marred by the noise from the very loud leaf collecting tractors. I appreciate the wardens work hard to keep the site immaculate but 3 mornings on the run! (all morning) our peace was shattered by the very noisy machines out collecting leaves. So noisy, we couldn't hold a conversation in the awning. Could the maintenance be staggered to different times of the day or alternate days. Could the CC consider quieter tractors?

Great sight

This is a great site, fabulous location and we will certainly be back as there is so much to do. I totally agree with the previous review in the fact you cannot stop dogs urinating on the site.

Excellent location

The site is located next to Chatsworth House Estate and has it's own access to the grounds, a short walk from the House. The House and grounds are well worth a visit and members of the club receive a £6 discount on the cost of entry. The site is also located close to numerous places of interest such as Eyam, Bakewell, Castleton, Chesterfield etc. The wardens were as friendly and helpful as any we have met in over 20 years in the club.

Super Site

Lovely site, peaceful, great location, friendly Wardens. This was our first visit here but certainly will be back. Love the ducks! The Chatsworth Farm Shop is fantastic as is Chatsworth House all set in stunning countryside. Dog friendly but the request for dogs not to urineate in the camp grounds, as any dog owner will know, is impossible to comply with, they just do it, a lot, so maybe that rule could be amended. No fouling of course, although the ducks pay little respect to this rule.????

Super Site

This is a brilliant location for a gentle stroll around Chatsworth, or more challenging walks around the Peak District. The site is spotless and all the wardens are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for either a short stay or a longer get away - there's plenty to do.

** Spectacular **

Hi all, I stayed here last weekend and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend! The wardens were really friendly, the site was immaculately kept, even the ducks kept me and the dog company! A quick walk through the site gate and we were on the Chatsworth Estate. We had loads of nice friendly caravanners to chat to which I think is nice that we are all sociable to each other! Keep up the good work everyone.... We are back to Chatsworth very soon :)
