Alice in Wonderland

We love this site, being fortunate to have been there quite a few times. It's just wonderful going through (The Gate) and it's another world. Just so many places to explore. Something for everyone no matter what age. The site wardens are pleasant and very helpful. The site is lovely, although we agree with another review that there are some dark spots, which perhaps some tree trimming would improve the pitch.  We spent a wonderful 10 days from the 3rd - 16th September and didn't do half of what we initially planned. Hope to do that another time.

Never Disappoints

We have just had our second stay at Chatsworth this year (6th to 16th September.) We have been coming to this site for more years than I care to remember and we are never disappointed. The close proximity to the grounds of Chatsworth (just through the gate) mean that you have access to numerous walks and scenery. The Wardens were helpful and friendly and the site and facilities were all kept clean and tidy. We will be returning next year (assuming I will be able to book - you  have to get in when bookings open in December otherwise complete weeks are not possible.) A beautiful site.

Still the best

Stayed here many times always 1st class in every department just think the site could do with a good haircut the pitches at the cricket club end always seem to be in darkness  always try to avoid those pitches ,so when the sun decides to show its face we don't have to constantly  be moving our chairs to enjoy a few rays.

Lovely Site

On the whole we found this site to be all that you expect except for a couple of minor issues, all regarding the shower/facilities block. Two issues here 1) the showers are closed far too early to allow everyone to use them before then ... it is quite a big site after all, and 2) there are not enough cubicles in the men's toilets meaning that embarrassing queue forms in the morning. The ideal remedy would be to build and additional block which would prevent both of these things happening. Otherwise, perfect.

Repeat Visitor

We have stayed at this site more than once for quick break/weekends away. Its easy to get to for us and has excellent clean facilities. The staff are great and always ready with information and cheery comments. Being able to walk the dogs early in the morning or at dusk, in the grounds of Chatsworth House, within site of the deer is a bonus. We didn't have any children with us so can not comment on the facilities for children. This is a site we look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic location

We love this site with it's access to the Chatsworth grounds and only 5 minutes to the great house. The Rutland Arms is only a 20 minute walk and is a must for a drink or a lovely meal. You can even take your well behaved dog into the pub and be welcomed by the staff. It can be difficult to get a pitch on this site unless you book early but it is well worth it. Will definitely be back.

Ideal setting

Ideal setting. Great welcome from friendly warden and can't fault any of the wardens. Access to Chatsworth park any time made for a treat of coming very close to a small herd of deer who were quite accepting of our company. Discount for admission to Chatsworth. Site laid out to give maximum privacy. Just can't find any faults.

Good setting

Chatsworth is in a very good setting, although it is a fair walk to the pub, it has the usual bad dog owners, not picking up the poo, also letting the things bark at everything that passes.
