Winter Visit

We stayed at Chatsworth for two nights from New Years Eve. The wardens are friendly, great location - there is access to Chatsworth direct from the site and the house is within 10 mins walk! The facilities are clean and the site well kept. The only draw back is that there is limited space on site and the caravans are packed in very close together. It's not a site where I'd go in summer as there is no space to sit outside and enjoy a BBQ or glass of wine. The children's play area is tiny - but with Chatsworth grounds (and adventure playground!) on the door step this isn't too much of a problem.

First time at Chatsworth

Good reviews about this site and it didn't disappoint . Plenty of walks in the grounds for the dog with the dog friendly Devonshire Arms a 20 minute walk away , you will probably have to book as it gets very busy in the bar . Next door is the Café on the green which again is dog friendly and is ideal for lunch or just coffee . The only shop for provisions is a small Spar a further 5 minute walk up the hill . Facilities on the site are well maintained although only 5 gents toilets for 100 plus pitches can cause congestion . Overall a good site and would certainly visit again .

First timers

This was our first visit to Chatsworth Caravan Park, in fact it was our first Caravan Club visit, and my word we were very impressed. My husband, dog and myself enjoyed a fantastic pre Christmas 2015 break. All the staff were friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble and made us first timers feel at ease. In fact everyone staying on the site was helpful. Even when I needed a corkscrew for the last bottle of wine! The facilities were spotless, even my mum was impressed when they visited for the day. There are some lovely, albeit muddy, walks just through the gate into Chatsworth and the deer didn't disappoint. We have booked another visit to Chatsworth.

Great Pre Christmas Break

Finally managed to book the site, from my phone on Easy Book when back in the UK in July... It did not disappoint, as the location etc. are all it is made out to be. My wife and I took the 4 yr old granddaughter and we were not sure about doing so due to long nights and short days but our fears were unfounded. The house and gardens are fabulous and the Toad of Toad Hall was a winner for the wee one. She enjoyed the sheep and wildlife and joined in with the caravan chores. Not far to Bakewell for provisions and we used the stay to pop across the Peaks to Manchester to visit a friend, but even if you have an event in the city it's a nice place to base yourself and use the P&R Tram. Overall a brilliant site, weather was the usual hit n miss for this time of year, Wardens were superb and the wife an I will pop up in the campervan for a weekend .....if we can get in.... during the late spring/early summer...

Return Visitor

We regularly stay at the Chatsworth site. The site and facilities are excellently maintained, in an area where there is a lot to do, even for us as regular visitors. Whilst there seem to be no big adventure playgrounds for younger children actually on site, there is still a lot on offer in the area to keep youngsters occupied. There is nothing quite like walking the dogs through the Chatsworth park early in the morning - through the sheep and the deer, and returning (hopefully) to bacon butties!!

Perfect pre-Christmas break

This is one of our favourite sites. It was our second pre-Christmas break here visiting family in the area and enjoying the scenery that we miss so much now we live 'down South'. In fact we have already booked for next year as it is so popular. Chatsworth House is always worth a visit and the Wind in the Willows theme this year is one of the best they have ever done. If you are visiting the excellent farm shop don't forget your site receipt for a 10 per cent discount between 4pm and 6pm. Yum

Our favourite site

We love this site - we visit twice a year to visit family in High Peak and always try to get a pitch here because of its location (it's always busy). When not visiting family we love to walk in the grounds. Cycling is now permitted only on tarmac roads in the park. Facilities always warm and clean, wardens friendly and helpful.

Perfect for Christmas at Chatsworth

We stayed with our friends for two nights for what is becoming a yearly tradition to visit the house for Christmas. The superpitch was excellent, everything within easy reach, and the facilities were really outstanding. My one objection was being told on the second day that my motorhome was parked wrongly on the pitch. It is a constant whinge that I find irritating. I was in the centre of the hardened area! If I had had a caravan, the car would have been closer to the next pitch than I was, so although I corrected the position to that specified, I might think twice about another visit
