Great Location

I spent 5 nights at the site in Chatsworth in August this year and had a thoroughly nice time. The best thing about it for me was the direct access to Chatsworth Park, where it is lovely to walk the dogs and have a stroll or a picnic (if you don't mind sheep). Chatsworth house itself is a short distance through the park and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, the house was draped in plastic during my visit for quite extensive work to the roof (I think), but usually it makes for some lovely photographs if that is what you like. Other than that, the campsite is very well located. We were able to drive easily all over the Peak District from there and Bakewell is very close (although we chose to avoid it as much as possible due to the heavy traffic around the town all the time!). The wardens were friendly and helpful and the showers and loos were immaculate at all times; it is a very nice site. However - one little whinge - when I booked the site, I had to book a super pitch - nothing else was available, even some months in advance. I spent four nights on that pitch before moving to a 'normal' pitch for a fifth night. Don't bother with the super pitch if something else is available! The pitch I had (number 7) was dark, small and had no grass at all. I did not realise just how miserable it was until I moved to grassy pitch 90! The normal pitches are cheaper and far better value for money; there is more space and -generally - a much nicer feel. Nonetheless, I will return next year, because there is so much more to see and do in the region generally.

Lovely site

We really enjoyed staying at this site for 3 nights. Great access into the grounds of Chatsworth - we enjoyed evening walks, watching the deer. We had a wonderful day at Chatsworth farm, house & garden too (discount for campers). Site was clean & peaceful & good for children.

Excellent Site

We found all staff to be very friendly and polite, the site very clean and the plots very well spaced. Toilets / Shower block very clean with all the hot water you want. Site is very well located for the Peak District with plenty of walks for the dog. We will certainly be back.

Lovely stay 24th July 5 nights

This was our 3rd and most enjoyable visit to Chatsworth this year. This site is spotless We found the wardens to be helpful and polite. The white pitch we chose this visit was very spacious and convenient for the disabled facilities. The showers always clean and water as hot you can stand. Enjoyed the stunning surroundings sitting by the derwent in the Chatsworth estate.

Another excellent few days

We stayed here midweek in our motorhome. Excellent site, great wardens, Baslow and two pubs short walk away. The site is great for walking around the Chatsworth estate. Chatsworth farm shop a short drive away - does 10% discount between 9 - 11am and 16.00 - 18.00.
