This is a truly special place. With each pitch comes a key to a private door through to the Chatsworth Estate! A magical experience of wandering around the estate after all the day visitors have gone home awaits you. The site itself is immaculately clean with very generous pitches. I had an issue with my electric cable not being long enough to reach the power hook up. The reception manager was so helpful and despite being very busy with bookings was eager to help and found me a different pitch with a closer power outlet. Her husband worked tirelessly to maintain the grounds (especially after a storm the night before!) but always with a smile and cheerful attitude. All in all, this site is near perfect for me and my dog. A word of warning though, ducks and pheasant wander aimlessly around the site. Fortunately, my dog wasn't bothered by them so it wasn't an issue. I will definitely be returning here.
weekend away!!
Fantastic location, very friendly staff , nice and clean site. One of the best !! The only fault is ... it's hard to find availability. Thank you again x

Good time
We had a great time as usuall ,do think some of the pitches could do with defining as some you don't know where your pitch starts and ends as others have said there are some large trees that shade some of the pitches but I suppose chatsworth will have a say to the pruning of them
Rollerteam2
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and there was only 2 pitches available, both shaded by trees. Like other reviewers there is the need to prune back overgrown trees. We love the site and appreciate the way this is cared for by the wardens
another great stay
our 4th visit and as always staff are very friendly and helpful especially when we diddn't plug our hook up in right, showerblock is superb and the site as always is clean and well maintained, we'll be back!!
many thanks roger and angela weston
Oh the trees
Have been coming to Chatsworth since year 2000 and we always find the peace and quiet rewarding. Access to the estate is also a major attraction. However on this visit we noticed that few pitches get the sun due to the dense trees. The pitch we occupied received no sun at all during the day. We may not visit again due to this which is a great shame and I note other reviewers are also reporting the same problem. Please do something about the trees.

sticky tree warning
Hi we stayed at chatsworth for 4 nights over the august bank holiday the site is lovely but beware when you pitch under trees our car and caravan had to visit the car wash on leaving which cost us the equivalent of a night's stay
First time at chatsworth
Hi, this was our first stay at Chatsworth for the game fair and loved it, I do understand some of the other reviews it can be dark and also not very satellite friendly due to the trees, fortunately we did get a good pitch,
Fay and Ray.

Disappointed with the site
We felt very "packed in" on what is a good site in a lovely place. Most of the piches are overhung with large trees making the inside of the van very dark, and a lack of grass left us deciding not to come again. The wardens are keeping the toilets and facilities very clean. It is a shame that the site is not as good as we remembered from the past.
A disappointing stay
This was our 5th visit to this site over the years, and I'm afraid we won't be hurrying to return.
It's in a beautiful part of the country, and the access to Chatsworth estate is great.
However it's dark!!!
The trees are now overpowering and most pitches spend part of their day in dense shade. After our first night we did a pitch swap to try and get some sun as we felt quite depressed in our dark cave!
We always check with the compass as we love evening sun, but there's not much point as the trees blocked out all sun after 4pm.
The playground is very shaded and now looks old and dull for children.
The dog walk is enclosed but is very short and also dark which makes it muddy.
We have travelled around quite a lot this year and this was the most expensive site and the least attractive.
Empty pitches even though it was Bank Holiday weekend and the Chatsworth Country Fair mean others must feel the same, customers will not visit unless improvements are made
