Always a lovely weekend

Having waited with anticipation for our visit to Chatsworth we were not disappointed. Working in the local area is brilliant and the through the door in the wall gives a quick entry to the grounds. This was made all the more interesting with rutting well underway. With low lying mist in the early evening meant excellent views of these magnificent animals choosing who is who in the order of dominance. The site was not as busy as we thought but all was as normal with condition and support of the staff.

Derbyshire at its best

The site is well located for visiting numerous Derbyshire towns as well as walking the Dales. Adjacent to the site are the grounds and stately mansion of Chatsworth. The site has first class facilities with helpful staff. There are many local pubs to visit and lots of top rate restaurants - what more can one ask for!

Another fantastic visit

Home after a week at Chatsworth as usual enjoyed every min, well maybe the rain was a bit much one day but did not stop us getting out into the grounds. The Deer were well worth watching, impressive. The pathways get a bit muddy but then we go prepared so no problem. Will be back again in the new year.

Return to a Favourite Site

This was our third visit to this site. It's nigh on impossible to book for a full week as weekends are booked up months in advance. Our arrival on a Sunday saw a waiting line of about 15 outfits but the organisation by the wardens got us in in about 30 mins. The super pitch even had its own toilet waste point. All pitches have fence/bushes dividing plus plenty of mature trees. You're straight into Chatsworth Park through the private access gate. Baslow village has a choice of good restaurants/pubs and the Chatsworth Farm shop is a must. If you go to Buxton, visit the Opera House and check out La Brasserie. 'Till the next time...

Peaceful weekend but quite claustrophobic site.

I looked forward to my stay at Chatsworth Park but was greeted with a very long narrow and winding lane to the site entrance and then a little humped bridge into the arrivals area. Very nerve-wracking if you're not too confident of your outfits width. In contrast, the welcome by the wardens was warm and very friendly. Arriving at 7pm on a Friday meant I only had the choice of 2 pitches, both in part of the site that I can describe as hospital wards...6 units to a bay and they felt very battery hen like. The whole site isn't the same but there are lots of hedges and trees breaking up the areas and pitches. The toilet facilities are spotless and well maintained. There is direct access to the chatsworth estate and house. When staying on site you get discounted tickets to the house and gardens. Bakewell village is also worth a visit too.

Ideal location

The location is perfect for accessing the Chatsworth House, Estate & grounds. The site itself has helpful welcoming staff & impeccably clean facilities. Convenient for walks into the dales and convenient for Bakewell, Buxton and othe attractive towns. TV reception very good as is site wi-fi.it is just a pity that reservation of a particular pitch does not seem possible but apart from that minor niggle, it is a site will continue to visit.

Great for Chatsworth House

Great location for visiting the Chatsworth Estate. Just 15 minutes walk through the parkland to the House.  Tidy site but it is over-run with ducks. They even sell duck food in the site shop! I suggest they get rid of the ducks and put more effort into providing members with free wi-fi.

lovely trees

Great site but I think its time for those lovely trees to be cut back, most of the pitches are under a tree and when it rains over night you know about in.After that moan we will be back.
