Second visit and third is booked

This is not the friendliest site, nor the most beautiful, but it is in a great location and has ducks!! Love the ducks...  1pm arrivals makes sense - narrow approach. Wardens can be a bit officious. I arrived to dry my hair just as the lady was closing the block to clean it and it was a bit of a 'tough luck' attitude. So, on a freezing day, I went out with thick wet hair. My own fault for not clock watching and for prioritising the kids I guess. However, would not have been a problem for me to dry my hair really, would it? Still, back for more in a few months as it is a great location for days out.

Chatsworth the Great.

The main problem with Chatsworth club site is it's weekend popularity. Even though we booked a pitch in early December 2015 we still could not get a pitch earlier than mid September. Fortunately the weather was quite good for most of the three weeks so we really enjoyed our stay. This is the best site we have visited this year.

First Visit, to this site on our doorstep!

Lovely site , spotlessly clean. Good mix of pitches, all hard standing. The downside is the number of trees, making many of the pitches dark , with little sun getting to some of them. Good location close to many attractions and interesting towns. Ideal for walkers.

Very good site

Been to this site twice and found it to be very well maintaind the wardens are all very freindly. If you are lucky you will get a pitch in the sunshine if not you will be in a pitch with overhanging trees which when raining drives you mad at night .Not only is it dark all day you get all the dirt off the trees on the van and awning,it must be time to get the trees cut back , as much as I like this site l will not be coming back until the trees have been cut back

Chatsworth newbies

As our first visit to the Chatsworth site, we were pleasanty surprised by the location, approach, scenery, design of the site itself and convenience to Chatsworth Estate.  All of the facilities and staff met the high standard one expects from CC sites these days, plus the pitch layout, mature trees and walled garden made for unique atmosphere.  Beware those pitches located under Oak trees in the autumn, or be prepared for the rain of acorns on the roof particularly when the wind blows!!  Great access to the lovely Chatsworth House and gardens, and if feeling energetic to the Peak District cycle routes.  Local hostelries can be reached by a gentle 20min walk via the park, or a 5min drive.  Overall, a site which we would be very happy to at again, if demand for pitches allows.

Autumn break

We arrived at two and although requesting a disabled pitch with awning was told there was none available with space for an awning the pitch was not very good a fair way from the disabled toilet and no sitting out space, however, the wardens were marvellous, they went out of their way to ensure as soon as a suitable pitch became available they would let us know so we could move. Two nights later we were set up on a lovely pitch close to facilities. The site is lovely walking distance to Chatsworth house and the scenery breathtaking especially the large herds of deer. We thoroughly e joyed out stay and would like to take this opportunity of thanking the wardens for their understanding and help. Pat and Frank little

Fabulous Site

Favourite site, walking distance to the lovely Chatsworth House.  Not many available pitches had to set up under trees, very shady.  The wardens not very friendly, we are novices and we were made to feel uncomfortable. Will definitely go back with grandchildren.

Great site

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Chatsworth House and Bakewell. Spotless facilities, pitch slightly overshadowed but very peaceful can even feed the ducks and pheasants from your door. Exit the site through the secret gate ! and 15min walk to Chatsworth House in one direction and 15min walk in the other to 2 good pubs and tea room in the other. We will be returning soon.
