Superb Site

On our first visit to this site, what a brilliant place. I'm a newbie to caravanning, but the wardens were more than helpful, the place was spotless, toilets/showers were clean, brilliant dog walk in the Chatsworth grounds, and a good day out at Bakewell as well. Had a really good time, in fact we've booked to go back for the Christmas market. Well recomended

One of Our Favourite Sites

We recently enjoyed a two night stay and are looking forward to returning. Lovely helpful staff. A lovely tranquil site set in a walled garden within the Chatsworth Estate. A key to the garden gains access to the Chatsworth House grounds, circa 10 minute walk to the house if turning right, circa 10 minute walk to the lovely village of Baslow in the opposite direction. Lots of lovely walks in the area, we chose to walk to Edensor estate village (which has a Lovely rea rooms), followed the road straight through the village and up the hill to a green lane - eventually you come to a quiet lane, turn left and continue up the hill and then down into Bakewell (circa 1.5 - 2 hour walk in each direction).

Lovely site, great location

We only stayed at Chatsworth for 2 nights during the school October holiday. It is a good site for exploring surrounding area including the beautiful towns Buxton and Bakewell. We particularly wanted to visit Matlock Bath which is an easy drive from Chatsworth. It is an ideal site for dog owners and a small gate at the back of the site gives access to the park land of Chatsworth House. There is a children's play area as well as table tennis tables which are undercover and lit during the hours of darkness. The facilities were up to the usual standards we have come to expect from the club and the wardens were very helpful and friendly.

One of our favourites

This was our fourth visit. It was as good as ever. The location is truly excellent being within the grounds of one of the UKs greatest stately homes and also a short drive from the Peak District. It is also close to other great attractions including Hadden Hall, Matlock, Blackwell and Buxton to name a few. The site is run as well as every other CMCC site so I won't dwell on this aspect. The staff are lovely although we had little contact because everything ran smoothly. Highly recommended.

Tremendous all rounder

What a fantastic October half term visit to Chatsworth Park. The site is well ordered, clean and perfectly placed for many of the Peak District amenities, not to mention Chatsworth House. The wardens are outstanding! Helpful and generous with their time plus an invaluable source of local knowledge. Don’t forget to visit the Chatsworth Farm shop.

Small & Perfectly Formed!

This is a great, small friendly site with great amenities. Ideal for visiting Chatsworth ( pity there's no longer a member discount). Great walks both long & short around the estate and Barlow & beyond. Great for families & young children, being very secure and away from public roads.

Another lovely visit

Visited the site for about the 12th time and as usual was not disappointed. We had a 5 night stay last week taking in some lovely long walks & the mild weather was a bonus. It’s great having the gate directly out onto the estate. Walking on the estate was great listening to the deer during the rutting season, they were very vocal, even at night. The facilities are always very clean, with lovely warm showers. The wardens were very nice. We will be returning at some point.

Lovely site

This was our second visit and we found the site to be very clean and in a good area for touring around. It was well laid out, and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. Just two reservations though. The lighting around the site is very poor and my wife almost had a nasty fall over the "speed bump" in the road in front of the shower block, as it was not lit and she didn't see it. Also, we were disappointed that being a member of the Club does not now entitle you to a discount at Chatsworth House, as it did last year, although the Caravaning and Camping Club provide these. As it's an expensive place to visit, this discount had been very welcome previously.

Just back from a 5 night stay at Chatsworth , we are never disappointed , great wardens spotlessly clean showers /toilets & the site looks good too , a credit to all that work there. The lane down to site is under repair filing in the odd pot hole ....excellent. Loads to do & lots to see we absolutely love our visits there , bonus was a super pitch became available so we were able to change .

Another Great Stay

Just returned home from another great stay at this gem of a site. The very pleasant and friendly wardens work extremely hard to keep this busy site clean and tidy. The weather during our stay was excellent for the time of year and we made use of the access gate to the park for some lovely walks. We caught the bus from the stop at Chatsworth house to Bakewell on Monday and enjoyed the market there followed by the fish and chips!! It is the Rutting season for the deer and it was a little noisy but its all part of staying on a site in the middle of a country estate. We loved it and shall be back. Would like to remind members that arrivals to the site is after 1 pm and you should abide by this rule. We spoke to many members who were annoyed by this and the fact that a chain was now put across the road to stop vehicles blocking the very narrow entrance road to the site. This rule is there for a reason and it is important that you schedule your journey to arrive after 1 pm.
