Lovely

A lovely site, very impressed. Id been trying to get in for over a year, and had actually booked for my birthday last December but this was cancelled at the last minute (thanks Boris)! I really loved the entrance greeting as you were shown a pic of the site whilst still in van, and directed first to pitch up and then to come back and book in. I was warned about the nesting rooks, so picked a spot, but it wasnt far enough away from the noisy screetchy birds!!! who didnt stop all night. Id have scored a five for peace and quiet if it wasnt for them. I also missed out on the cream teas - i wasnt quick enough to order on arrival, but managed to pick one up at the farm shop on my way home. it was delish. if you are visiting the site, its a must have. Get your order in quick. The key and door into the chatsworth estate is a lovely touch, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. They are still only doing house and garden visit prebookings, so make sure you book ahead - and take advantage of the CAMC discount. Overall a lovely visit, and I will be back again - if i can ever get back in.

Another great stay at this great site

We were delighted to be there again on opening day (12th April). The site looked even better than it usually does and was right up-to-date with the regulations. All the wardens were helpful and pleasant, and cheerfully coped with the arrival of 100 or so vans on one day! Nearby Chatsworth and Baslow shops and restaurants are open, with buses to Bakewell & beyond. Lots of short and more challenging walks from the site. The site shop is particularly valuable if you haven't time for a 40 minute walk and/or don't want to take your vehicle off site. It's well-stocked with campsite essentials, fresh milk, local bakery products, and other treats - the cream teas are a must!

August staycation

We had a warm welcome onto the site by the wardens. Very friendly and all smiles. The grounds were well kept and the toilet and shower blocks were very clean. The baby and toddler room was a surprise, which we didn’t use but good to know that they had one onsite. As this was our first COVID-19 stay away. So we bought additional equipment for our campervan. Like a outside pop up shower tent. Knowing that toilets and shower block would be closed on some sites. We didn’t need to use it. As the toilets and shower block were open and had a limit on how many people went in. Social distancing markers were marked outside with a one way system. We only stayed the one night but wish I had booked for the whole weekend. As you would need it to have a good walk around Chatsworth Estate. I would definitely be going back again, as our stay made us join the Caravan and motorhome club. I recommend anyone visiting Derbyshire to stay at the site as it allows you to walk onto the Chatsworth Estate through a secret door, which a key is given to you on arrival.

Amazing Chatsworth

This site one first class from start to finish. So well organised and friendly. The staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay brilliant. Thank you to the lady warden...sorry didn’t get her name. For lending us a cork screw in our hour of need.

Wonderful stay!

What a lovely site with fantastic, friendly and super helpful staff. Check in was super smooth with great Covid measures in place and really clean facilities. The couple who run this place are so friendly and helpful. They made our 7 year old feel so welcome. The secret key giving you 24/7 access to the Chatsworth Estate is awesome with lovely walks to some great pubs and cafes. Thank you!

Best check in procedure yet

Definite contender for a flagship site; however, the check in procedure is the best I have experienced to date. The staff meet you on the driveway, tick you off on a list and tell you to go straight in, find a pitch and then go to reception to pay etc. This is far, far better than other sites where you queue for ages to go into reception and pay prior to going in and finding a pitch. All sites should do this, not just during the covid crisis but forever afterwards.

A beautiful site in a unique location

We have been trying to book a pitch on this popular site for a long time and finally succeeded! The site surpassed our expectations. Its situation within Chatsworth Park and the ability to explore it from the site was fantastic. It was amazing to see two species of deer, fallow and red, as well as the friendly ducks which roam the site. It is a very pretty site, with lots of trees and has a lovely ambiance. There were so many beautiful walks without using the car. Apart from the Park, the ‘model village’ of Edenzer and the lovely walks along the river, we enjoyed a splendid walk up on to Baslow and Curbar Edges, with their stunning views and fascinating rock formations. There are plenty of pretty towns and villages within easy reach and a walk into Bakewell from the site can be recommended. We look forward to our next visit, provided we can find availability!

Our first Club Site

As we are new to Motorhoming this was our first venture to a Club Site. What a welcome !!! Friendly and efficient staff. Everything so clean and well run. Considering it was almost full it was so peaceful. Love the access to Chatsworth park - felt a bit like Narnia !! Pubs in Baslow did excellent meals and within walking distance. Will visit again

A lovely site with great access to Chatsworth.

If you have not stayed at Chatsworth Park before, you will enjoy a lovely site with great access to Chatsworth. Try booking a few days before you go when all the block bookings have been cancelled. Great walking and local scenery. Only issue which is becoming more common at most sites is the queuing for Motorhome service point. At Chatsworth there are 2 parallel drain covers. 1 is inaccessible because to use, you would need to park on the adjacent occupied pitch. Many of us leave at the same time and so 1 drain cover for 2 tanks from dozens of motorhomes is going to result in long queues. A long term issue which is only going to get worse.

Totally met expectations

Having read many of the reviews we were expecting to be impressed, and we were. This was our 1st visit and it certainly won't be our last. The site is well organised, with plenty of choice of pitch positions. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. The facilities were really clean, and the new measures in place were easy to follow (for most) some people just don't pay attention, but they were in a tiny minority. We loved the gate access straight onto the Chatsworth estate, perfect for long walks with our dog. We also walked into Baslow several times and enjoyed the local hospitality. It is possible to walk to so may places easily from the site, you can park your car and not use it unless you want to travel further afield.
