Hot week

My wife and I recently stayed on this site and we were met by friendly and helpfull wardens we were told to find a pitch then report to reception. The location is brilliant walking distance to chatsworth house and baslow. The trouble was the weather was ridiculously Hot infact to Hot to walk about in it .so alot of relaxing around in the shade was the order of the day . The farm shop and cafe is a must visit so is the Sunday night on site pizza takeaway. All in all this site is well worth a visit.

A Welcoming Place to Stay.

Welcoming is the word that encompasses our experience from the time we arrived and were met by a most courteous assistant warden on the approach to the site until we dropped off our gate key on departure. There is no doubt that the staff are very conscientious and take their roles very seriously and I noticed that they were going around actually cleaning the pitch pegs, yes it is a little thing but lots of little things make a big thing. The site is ideally placed for touring in the area with many fascinating villages to visit and a Mecca for especially walkers and all who enjoy the benefits of the open air. A wonderful walk from the back gate of the site leads to Chatsworth House and beyond. If one is lucky in the Summer a chance perhaps to watch a little cricket as local teams do battle on the quaint ground nearby just at the edge of the estate. The club members staying at the site can also benefit from discounts on meals at a couple of the local pubs only a pleasant one mile walk away into Baslow. The recent relaxation of Covid restrictions have eased the problems in the sanitation blocks which were unfortunately necessary on all club sites. Life is returning to normal and we are already booked into for next year. Many thanks and well done to all of the Site Staff at Chatsworth Park Caravan Club Site.

Best site best wardens on the network

This is our third time here this year. What sets this site apart from others is it's relaxed atmosphere. This is I think much about the wardens and their friendly approach to their duties. They smile a lot, they are approachable and helpful. We always remark at the difference this makes to a site and we have stopped on many in the network. Well done again Chatsworth well done the Warden team !

Lovely relaxed, friendly site

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome. The site wardens were so cheerful and happy to help. Many of the piches are under trees with birds roosting at night which was easy to ignore once they settled for the night. Left the van a bit messy but torential rain on the way home washed the van clean. The key to the "secret garden" was one of the best parts of our stay and being able to walk on the estate was amazing. Our dog loved being able to cool down in the river. The facilities were super clean. We walked to the farmshop in the heat - it's 2.5miles so be prepared! The food in the cafe at the farmshop is delicious and the staff lovely. We also walked to the village at ate in the cafe there and it was also nice. Next time we may bring our car as needed if you want to visit other towns etc. We like to park up our motorhome and walk where we can but although totally enjoyed our 3 nights we'd like to be able to see more of the area. We will be back definitely.

Unquestionably one of the top sites

Sadly we were on our way home and could only stop one night which is not enough to sample all the site can offer in terms of location and amenities. Excellent site. Good welcome. Helpful non-authoritarian staff. Pitches well spaced and mostly level. The whole site beautifully maintained. Toilet facilities etc spotless. We took advantage of 20% off at a local pub - a gentle 20 minute stroll through the beautiful Chatsworth House estate.

Beautiful Club Site

Stayed for a week in July, this was our first visit but certainly will not be our last. The site is beautiful and very handy for lots of walks throughout the peak district. The gate taking you onto the grounds of the Chatsworth estate is very handy especially for walking our 2 dogs. The only negative is we couldn't let our dogs off their leads but this was not too much of an issue. We did not use the pizza van so cannot comment on if it was any good but had a lovely meal at the Wheatsheaf pub in Baslow and got 20% off thanks to being members of the club which was excellent and would definitely go back. Everyone needs to be aware that entry onto the site is from 1pm and they should not turn up early as it is a very long one lane road onto the site and this does cause issues. Toilet blocks nice and clean and good hot showers. Wardens were great and very friendly and helpful. Baslow handy for food shop and bakewell only a few miles away with a good weekly market. All in all and excellent site and well worth staying at.

Beware of sheltered games room

Great site but a bit expensive. Beware if you pitch on non awning pitches 59 to 61 as there is a sheltered games room behind the pitches which is not marked on site map. People walk over your pitch to get to it & play table tennis which can be noisy if you want an early night!

Great site - well run

Turned up late and 'on the off chance' of staying a couple of nights. Tina & Wendy were brilliant. Lovely location - walked to Chatsworth House 15 minutes away and later had a great meal in Baslow at one of the pubs. Highly recommended

Walking

Such a beautifully kept site, flower beds, grass and just everything about this site is kept immaculate by the hard worked wardens. My only issue is with the immediate walking if you have a dog. I did realise that dogs needed to be on a lead in Chatsworth grounds and am happy enough with that, but we couldn’t actually find anywhere that we could walk with our dog running off lead which was a bit of a disappointment, but truly if that’s no problem to you, it’s a great site and area.

Cracking site

Stayed for 8 nights to attend the Fox terrier meet in Chatsworth Park. Check in was easy, the warden was waiting on the approach road which is single track. I like the new system of pitching first then going to pay, reducing the number of times going to reception. Wardens friendly if you saw them out & about on this well kept site. Well stocked shop including lovely cream teas, bread, pies to order. Can’t comment on the facilities as we always use our own. Pizza van 3 times a week, highly recommended. Lovely walks into Chatsworth park & surrounding area. Looking forward to visiting again next year..
