Hot showers- brilliant.

Lovely site, just a few too many trees for us, our van and car were covered in sticky sap. The facilities were spotless, showers lovely and hot. The system of bands for use in the facilities due to Covid didn't work, people forgot to remove them so you were waiting unnecessarily. Only 3 showers in use for over 100 caravans! The outside pizza caterers ran out of ingredients over an hour before closing time, we were really disappointed, so order early. Saying that we would stay at Chatsworth again, just hopefully find a tree free pitch, although there aren't many.

Great site

Really nice location, through the gate in the wall and Chatsworth House is 1/2 mile to the right while Baslow is 3/4 mile to the left. Handy 218 bus to Bakewell from either House or Baslow. Nice walks nearby. Clean, tidy, useful off-lead area for dogs.

Just Amazing 🤩

We were so lucky to get a last minute pitch. We have not stayed at a Club Site before preferring to stay at CL’s as we only have a tiny vintage Eriba but we are so happy we took the plunge! What an amazing site. The pitch was excellent close to a fabulous dog run and the site is spotless. The shower and toilet facilities are the best we’ve been to. But the best thing ever is the key to the magical kingdom beyond the wall to the grounds of Chatsworth House. Just beautiful! Can’t wait to come again. Thank you 😊

Great stay

Our local site Very enjoyable stay ,clean and safe Great super awning pitch that we managed to get last minute Walked from site to Bakewell via Edensor villagehilly but great views, made a pits stop at the small golf club coming back ( walk up the lane instead of bridle path , better under foot) bridle path washed away in places. Made welcome Used own facilities in van but site was immaculate. Pizza oven visited and they did look good and popular. We ate out at The Prince of wales former rowleys. Great food and service. Also took advantage of the discount with cc membership at the Devonshire arms - booth walkable from site via lane or back gate. Had cocktails in the courtyard at Chatsworth. Love it here!

Lovely site with access to the Chatsworth Estate. Good access and well presented site.

This was our first visit to Chatsworth having had our trip cancelled last June due to COVID. The site is easy to access and we were met by one of the wardens as we went up the drive. We took note of the guidance not to arrive early and you can see why as the drive is long and narrow. We found a great pitch (30) which had the sun from lunchtime onwards. The pitch was level and a great size. Chatsworth are using the new pitch between two markers system which is straightforward. We have a dog and found the dog walk to be good - plenty of room for her to have a good run about and it was nice and cool on a hot sunny day. There are plenty of dog waste bins around the site. Access to the Chatsworth Estate was great using the key and sanitiser to use as you came back into the Club site. It was lovely to be able to walk about the Estate and explore for miles including Edensor village where we tried the cafe for tea and cakes - very tasty. We also used the cafe at Chatsworth but as we had our dog with us didn’t book to go into the gardens or house. On a Friday and Sunday there are pizzas by reception that you can order and collect at a time to suit yourself or just wait for them to be made. Very tasty and well priced. We also had the cream teas from reception - the scones were very tasty but worth noting that the clotted cream is kept in the freezer and therefore needs time to thaw! We loved everything about the Chatsworth club site apart from the fact that due to the sheep/lambs and deer on the Chatsworth Estate we had to keep our dog on her lead ( perfectly understandably) but that’s not an issue with the CAMC. We found all of the wardens really friendly and helpful - they keep the site looking immaculate with short grass, neat hedges and lovely tubs/hanging baskets. My husband used the on-site faculties and commented that the band system didn’t really work - several times all the bands were hung up but there was no one using the facilities. We visited Longshaw Country Park and Holmebrook Valley Park (Chesterfield) too - the former is a National Trust site and has stunning views of the countryside with various sign posted walks and the latter was great for our dog to be off lead and had free parking. We visited the Devonshire Arms for a drink but didn’t use any of the other pubs in the village. We used the Co-op for our daily newspaper too.

Lovely site

This site is situated within the Duke of Devonshire’s walled former vegetable garden. It does not feel quite as spacious as other sites, and we felt just a little hemmed in - having an 8 metre unit, there was very little space between us and the route around the site. However, for a stay of just a couple of nights, this was a minor point. Most of the pitches seemed to be under cover of trees, with only a few ‘open’. Very little levelling was needed. The facilities were spotless and the caretakers were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. There is a lot of birdlife at the site and duck food is available at the shop for the very many ducks waddling around. We were of the mistaken understanding that the ‘special key’ gave access to the enclosed gardens of Chatsworth House - it doesn’t. However, what it does give is quick access to the greater grounds of the Chatsworth estate. We had cause to smile when overhearing our neighbours talking of their visit to the little village in the grounds, called, Eden-Saw. We didn’t like to tell them that locals pronounce Edensor very differently. We have already booked to visit again, so that says it all.

Relaxing stay

Perhaps it's because the kids are still at school but this is one of the most peaceful and relaxing we have stayed on. The noisiest thing being the crows. Good facilities, great wardens, nice flat fully serviced pitch and very lucky to get one with plenty of sunshine and not under any trees. The key to the magical Kingdom beyond the gate into the Chatsworth Estate makes it that little bit special. Lots to do in the local area including Bakewell and I can also vouch for the Peaks Ales and Chatsworth Gin.

Best Site 👍🏻.

Well, what can we say that’s not already been said. This site is 100% in every way. - Fantastic location, great walks through Chatsworth grounds & woods. Lovely little village in walking distance & without doubt the best farm shop we’ve ever visited. —— Oh yes, and we’ve booked again for next year
