Absolutely loved this site

From the moment we arrived the wardens were so helpful and friendly. Beautiful site, love the fact that you can access Chatsworth House directly from the site. Site is very well kept and looked after. We loved our late evening walks deer spotting. There is so much to do locally and so many restaurants close by you will be spoilt for choice. This has got to be one of my favourite sites and we will definitely return.

Great spot

Second stay, again in a little enclave by the ‘secret door’ to the estate grounds. Usual peace and quiet apart from the crows of course. They are loud as others say - hence the phrase ‘stone the crows’ I suppose?! A non PC solution these days needless to say. The site is clean and tidy as you would expect from a club site and access to the estate grounds is the highlight. The gardens were lovely with much to see at this time of year.

Great location for visiting Chatsworth & The Peak District

This site couldn't be better placed for visiting Chatsworth and other places in the Peak District such as Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal Trail, but not a site we will be going back to. It was very clean and the facilities were modern and spotless with very hard working, helpful and friendly wardens. Chatsworth is a must for a visit and the gardens were even more impressive than the House and that was special. The Pizza oven on a Sunday evening was fantastic, probably amongst the best pizzas I've ever had but missed the fish and chip van so can't comment on that. The downside for us was that it felt very cramped, the rooks were some of the noisiest birds I've ever heard and the debris that came off the trees made a real mess of the awning and took us two days to get rid of when we got home. Suits some people, but not us I'm afraid.

Excellent site.

This is a lovely site. The facilities are all spot on. The staff are very friendly & were exceptionally helpful when we asked to stay an extra night. We love the door in the wall giving access to Chatsworth grounds. I’ve knocked a point off due to the very noisy crows but obviously this is not the fault of the site!

Great campsite - we hope to return

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chatsworth Park club campsite arriving on a Wednesday. It's location is great, the facilities are of a good standard and well maintained, the staff are welcoming and efficient and there is a magic door in the boundary wall... This takes you into the park of Chatsworth House. We spent a happy hour wandering about on our first evening after the crowds had gone. There are several large pieces of modern art scattered through the grounds. We also discovered that the Chatsworth three day Horse Trials were due to start on the Friday, and the rings and display tents were being set up. We paid our £15 entry on the Friday morning and watched the first few hours of the event before heading south. I gather that pitches on the campsite for next year are booked up. The "Living With Art We Love" exhibition is on until October. Items from the Duke and Duchess's private collection are displayed throughout the public rooms accessible to visitors. We enjoyed the juxtaposition of modern and old. The gardens (ticket entry) behind and above the house are fabulous and extensive. Altogether highly recommended. Picking up points by other reviewrs:- We didn't find the campsite anymore doggy than other club sites. The rooks are noisy but that didn't bother us.

Individual location

What a setting . We visited the gardens if Chatsworth and brought a picnic with us . We walked to Bakewell and caught the bus back. There’s lots of pubs and restaurants nearby . The secret gate into Chatsworths ground is great for going for a walk. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the pitches are well spaced out in general.

Great site, but oh those Rooks ......

Our first visit to Chatsworth Park, and wasn't disappointed. Friendly welcome from the busy staff who kept the facilities and park area spotless and well tended to. The shop is one of the best I have seen on a CMC site, with fresh products delivered daily. Access to Chatsworth Park is pretty exclusive from the site and was our route when walking to Baslow and Bakewell, both places having lovely pubs and in Bakewell a variety of shops. Visited Chatsworth House, the grounds and gardens are wonderful, the House on the other hand was not to my liking with almost 50% of the rooms becoming a gallery for all types of Modern Art. We wanted to enjoy the historical charecter and culture, but in many rooms that was hidden away. If you do go, take a picnic, the prices for refreshments and food were pretty steep. The site was pretty full whilst we were there, but never seemed overly noisy, The only issue out of control of the Club and the Wardens were the large number of roosting rooks and crows and the noise that they make most of the day! I reckon if you stay long enough you'll get used to them. Had the pizza on Sunday evening, was very good and well worth the money

Simply a lovely quiet site.

This site is one of the most tranquil & relaxing sites. Lots of animals so animal lovers will enjoy this. When I say lots, dogs a plenty (a small off lead area only, not enough to exercise any reasonable dog), seemingly resident ducks & pheasants & who knew just how much squirrel droppings they do (avoid the overhanging trees - it sticks like glue!). On the Chatsworth estate itself, the list of animals goes on, deer especially aplenty. Beautifully kept facilities & the staff are so pleasant & helpful - you couldn't ask for more from them. Some lovely on site food is available on certain days e.g a mobile pizza company (although they bizarrely sold out by early evening which came as a surprise to many). A little pricey (on a par with some very well placed south coast sites with great views/facilities) although the ease to the Chatsworth Estate does compensate a little.

Dog behaviour.

Chatsworth is a lovely site and great location. Excellent shower facilities. Friendly staff. However, it is spoilt by the persistent sound of dogs barking throughout the day and also at night. This is not conducive to a relaxing holiday. We have seen dogs urinating around the pitches, this is not hygienic for the next occupants. We also had one actually foul on our pitch much to our disgust as we had our grandchildren with us. There are actually dog walking areas to accommodate this. This needs to be addressed.

Perfect Place to Visit

Excellent facility and friendly staff - so close to the beautiful grounds of Chatsworth and surrounding villages and countryside. An area for all people to enjoy, families as well.
