A lovely site in a great location

A lovely site the facilities have been recently improved and are of a very high standard but the look of the site hasn't been spoilt. The staff are friendly without being intrusive, and the location is great for visiting not only Castleton which is very picturesque but also within easy reach of other Derbyshire attractions.

Lovely Club Site

Lovely week away in Castleton spotless facilities and helpful friendly staff. Short walk into the village which was great for an evening meal.Lots of great walks nearby, the campsite has a drying room which we will had found earlier, a great place to stay cant wait to go back.Be aware that the sat nav my take you to camping and caravan site which i'm afraid were not so pleasant and difficult to manoeuvre a caravan back down the lane.

TV booster

We like the location of this site for doing some lovely walks in the hills direct from the site. Also ideal for a short walk to pubs, shops & cafes, which is very handy. The facilities look very good since the refurbishment, but disappointed that TV boosters weren’t fitted, as the pitches could do with them. Nice to watch some TV on dark nights throughout the winter months. Hopefully this will be considered in the future.

Castleton highly recommended

Just back from a 3 night stay, first visit after the refurbishment, brilliant shower block, showers absolutely red hot and spectacularly clean! Lovely clean site have visited Castleton many times as it is one of my favourite club sites. 10 minute walk into Castleton with a great selection of pubs serving great food. Highly recommend site for hiking and cycling and fog walking, will be returning soon.

Great location in the High Peak

Great site, very clean throughout, usual high standard toilet block. Winnats Pass (weight restriction 7.5 Ton) is worth a drive with National Trust parking at the top for Mam Tor, if the sun is shining recommend a brisk walk to the top for great all round views. Castleton is also worth a walk, only takes about 10mins, highly recommend the bakery on the left for your fresh bread/buns etc...... enjoy!

Great site for exploring peak district

Found the site really good for exploring the Peak District both by car and foot. Castleton is only a 10 minute walk away, cafe at visitors centre is really worth a visit. My only negative points, pitches are looking rather tired and I would of liked to of been able to walk through by washing area with my dog, but these are minor points. Wardens were very friendly and facilities were very clean

Another Derbyshire highlight

Just a couple of days walking in the Peak District and this is a great place to start from. Up through Cave Dale and out onto Mam Tor along the ridge and back down into Castleton is a lovely way to spend a day and the views are wonderful. There's plenty of other walks to choose. Castleton has so many pubs and coffee shops and all are an easy walk from the site. Don't book to go this site too often - we want to get in again!

Excellent site.

We stopped here for the first time, we wish we'd found it sooner. It is a great site in an excellent location with so much to do. The recent refurbishment is first class and they were kept very clean by the wardens. The dog shower ( we don't have a dog) is a great idea. All the wardens were cheerful and very helpful. This area is great for walking and visiting the caves. It is useful for both Caravanners and Motorhomers as the shops and places to eat, both at Hope and Castleton are within walking distance. We didn't use public transport but trains can be accessed from Hope and buses outside the site. We will definitely visit this site again.
