I simply can't fault this site. The wardens, Julia and Alan, are fantastic, they're so helpful and always smiling, and despite their busy jobs, are always available to offer advice and to answer questions.
The site is spotless and is in a great location for Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
I'm back again next week for the Cambridge folk festival, can't wait!
2nd visit in 5 weeks
Another family meal at the local pub, means another night at the site.
Local to the area, born here, means many visits.
20 miles is also a nice journey to the site.
Great hosts, lovely clean site and block.
A revisit will be on the table.
Well recommended to all.
A night in the trees
A lovely spot surrounded by trees, could feel a bit claustrophobic. Fairly quiet, slight road noise from above as you are in an old quarry, methinks. Showers in good order although a little dated but just the job. Very handy for Cambridge jaunts. Check out Anglesey Abbey if you get the chance and take a walk across the road to view the very unusual chalk pits, one of which is now a tranquil nature reserve.
Lovely site, great wardens
We spent two nights at this site and were very impressed. It offered us everything we were looking for, peace and quiet, good location for visiting Cambridge by bus, shady pitch to keep dog cool in warm weather, good dog walking nearby, clean and tidy, good Indian restaurant in village, and above all - some of the most friendly and cheerful wardens we have come across.
We'll definitely visit again

Another great stay
We enjoyed our stay at this site, it was clean and tidy and very peaceful. There are areas of the campsite that are slightly darker due to the trees and we felt some of the pitches including the one we had, were smaller than other caravan sites - however this was not an issue more an observation. It is easy to go into Cambridge by or walking and the bus stop is just around the corner if this suits. We would certainly stay at this site again

Ideal for Cambridge and local area
Site is ideally placed within easy reach of local bus to the city and few good pubs. Site was almost full when we arrived, but warden had held a good pitch for us as we were booked for 4 nights rather than just a stopover. which was very much appreciated. We cycled into town via one of the many cycle friendly routes thanks to the help from the warden lending us a local route map. Site is quite compact. Toilet block maybe a bit "tired" but spotlessly clean as usual and the piped music is a nice touch.

Excellent location
Located within 10 minutes walk of frequent bus service to Cambridge. All-day bus pass under £5.00. Opposite bus stop is The Robin Hood pub - good value meals and with a side room where dogs are allowed. Facilities typical of CC and personally I was delighted that Radio 2 is played in the toilet block. Would happily return.
Good location but needs some investment
Stayed here for 3 nights in June. Only one pitch available when we arrived which was in a very secluded part of the site. worked OK for us but probably wouldn't suit families with young children. Showers need some updating but as usual with CC sites kept very clean. Short walk to bus for Cambridge and also close to a couple of decent pubs. Probably could do with some extra wardens given the complex layout of the site with multiple levels and nooks and crannies.

Second visit....won't be the last
We stayed for a long weekend end of June. Pitched down in the trees and found it peaceful and sheltered.....and bright. Site is well cared for by cheerful and hardworking wardens. Early arrivals make their job even harder....please note folks, don't arrive before 1.00pm it ain't fair. Excellent location close to bus route or park and ride. Dog walks over the road if the site one isn't big enough. Already looking forward to out next visit..... Cambridge is lovely.
