Recent 5 night stay

The site is so convenient for Cambridge with excellent public transport helping make our second expedition in our new motor home a very enjoyable experience. It also has encouraged us for to find other sites which have similar convenient public transport links. The site was very clean and along with the helpful, friendly wardens made our break memorable. Signage to the site was very good but perhaps the footpath alongside the road a tad narrow and we will return!

Great Weekend

Another great weekend away. We were surprised to be able to get a pitch, on what is a popular site. Rushed home and almost leap into the motorhome to ensure we arrived on time. As we were the last to arrive we had been allocated pitch 27 (my last visit I had a pitch on the bottom field). Absolutely loved being in a shady nook. We were not disturbed and had room to enjoy the site. Walked into Cambridge (cab home). Great Fish and Chip van on site. The wardens were all very attentive and the site a pleasure to visit. We will return without a doubt to Cherry Hinton.

Recent visit

We found many positives to this site. Friendly wardens, access to public transport, good signage, and excellent toilet block. We were last in on the day we arrived so had no choice in the pitch. It was pretty dingy and overhung by a mass of trees towering over us (but no fault of the staff that we had this spot). Our visit to the Robin Hood was 3 star at best. Beer was not in good condition, service was mediocre and the meals were 'swimming' in fat while a glass of water was served with 'bits' floating in it. The nearby Red Lion was much more friendly, beer was fine so it was a shame that they only offered meals at lunchtime. The site is clearly ideal for visiting Cambridge with buses so handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our day wandering around the centre, admiring the colleges and other buildings. The Fitzwilliam museum was excellent. We would be happy to return to this site in the future as it is so well placed, and our pitch area apart, a nice looking site.

vast improvement

A few years ago we used this site for the Cambridge folk festival on a regular basis. It was then run by a a man called Barry and his wife.Barry was so rude and obnoxious that I wrote a letter of complaint against him and vowed never to use this show again. This year we remembered and managed to get a pitch for the festival on the basis that'Barry' and his wife had moved on.. They had..all i can say is that the couple who run it at the moment are the nicest, most helpful and easy going people we have ever met at any club show. They are practical and always willing to help. They are a credit to the caravan club and in the interests of balance I feel this needed to be said.. Thankyou again for a wonderful stay at your site. It made the festival even more enjoyable.

Chilled site

It was our first time - literally, as we had hired a motorhome and we had never used a CC site before!  The Wardens were fantastic.  So helpful - especially when recommending which pitch to go for. We were attending the Cambridge Folk Festival and thought the distance to the Robin Hood and Cherry Hinton grounds was great. Lovely, peaceful site for grown ups to relax and reflect.

Great Convenient Site

We stayed for the Cambridge Folk Festival which takes place only 10 minutes walk away from the site. The site is quiet and fairly small. The wardens are some of the best we have come across. Very friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk into Cherry Hinton, where buses are easily available to Cambridge. Brilliant for the Folk Festival, but I would not hesitate to recommend it for visiting Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Impeccably Clean

We stayed here for two nights as we were a family of four visiting Duxford Air Museum. The site is very peaceful, clean and has beautifully kept grounds and facilities with helpful & friendly staff. Only drawback is there is no play area for the children, however it didn't stop our two from having a rummage. Definitely recommend the fish & chips from the local van!

Great site Great location

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could vist Cambridge and found it a great site. Facilities were modern and spotless, site was quiet and kept to a good standard, site wardens were friendly and helpfull. Bus stop to Cambridge was just a 5 min walk as was a good pub serving great food and drink. Would recommend this site to anyone and we will be returning ourselves for another stay.

Really helpful

We arrived after a 225 mile drive, pulled up to the barrier and our motorhome wouldn't start again. While waiting for the RAC the wardens made us tea and coffee. The RAC couldn't get us started so towed us onto our pitch, being the weekend we couldn't phone the garage and despite being only booked in for 1 night the wardens found us a pitch for 3 nights until we could be recovered to the garage even though they were officially full. The wardens went above and beyond to help us. The site is small and peaceful with good access to local shops and also to Cambridge and I would recommend it.
