Good Location

Great for visiting Cambridge, very frequent buses to the city.  Lots to do in town - we visited the American Cemetry, colleges and the Polar museum. Great pub within walking distance, selection of food at reasonable prices at the Robin Hood. Site very quiet with walks nearby.  Very good helpful wardens and info point.  Good facilities.

A great site - entirely positive!

I approached our week at Cherry Hinton with some trepidation after reading some rather negative comments about the male warden posted by a minority of members. We found both wardens to be helpful and friendly - the negative reviews just feel like the caravanners in question are overly sensitive and not used to dealing with people. Everyone is different - don't stress out and leave negative comments for such a lovely site. Wardens are individuals and do a great job. This site is relatively small and compact and needs a firm hand at the tiller to keep it on track - there are not big open spaces where you can drive round with your van looking for a pitch, so the wardens invite you to walk the short distance and choose your pitch before you leave the entrance area. Felt a bit weird at first, but fully understand the case why this is in place. The amenities block is the cleanest and tidiest I think we have ever visited - well done. Cambridge itself is really accessible, although very busy with bikes. The Fitzwilliam museum is a must visit attraction. Punting on the Cam is also fun, but on the pricey side (the museum is free and you can easily spend all day there) There are 3 good National Trust properties within easy driving distance - Wimpole, Anglesey Abbey and Ickworth - all are superb So we had a fantastic week and I for one would like to put on record my personal thanks to the wardens.

Home from home

Working in Cambridge away from home for the first time, this site was the tonic I needed to avoid being homesick. The wardens Are amazing and could not be more welcoming. 10/10. Thank you

An October delight

An excellent site in a most interesting location. Everything about the site was of the highest standard thanks to the amazing wardens who were incredibly helpful at all times. Their friendliness and good humour and their constant hard work made our stay one of the most enjoyable we have experienced. Very many thanks.

Jobsworth

This is a beautiful site, the location, facilities and cleanliness were all first class. The bus into Cambridge was every 10min and an est walk from the site, however this was all spoilt by the jobs worth attitude of the male warden, the lady was lovely very nice and helpful but he was rude to say the least, I asked politely if it was ok to use the toilet block and he rudely said " no I haven't finished " no sorry I haven't finished .I have never complained about a warden before but this one was rude and needs replacing , l have seen other complaints about him so it's not just me, as good as the site is l will never go again whilst he is there.

One of these days we'll stop for longer

We've used this site twice now but only for very short stays. This time it was for a concert at Cambridge Junction. How very civilised to be able to catch the bus to the venue. We went shopping in Cambridge, returned to the site and then took the bus again to the event, catching the last bus home. Information given is very informative, facilities very good and the Wardens very friendly. We had the last but one pitch on arrival but we couldn't have asked for better. The only nightmare was trying to cross the road before being mown down by fast cars. Planning to come back so that we can explore more in the area. Lovely weather this time, bit wet last time but both times extremely enjoyable.

Well Kept and Well Run

We enjoyed 4 nights at Cherry Hinton. The site is well kept and well run, with excellent facilities. The location enjoys easy links into Cambridge with a good bus service. Although the site is next to a school, the noise isn't too intrusive and didn't spoil our time there. If there is one comment I would make it would be for dog owners there to be reminded that dogs should be kept on leads. A few times we saw dogs running around and even had one leave us a little present by our privacy room door.

Great Few Days!

My wife and I have recently returned from a four night stay.  We really enjoyed this site and wish we had booked for at least another couple of days.  The site is extremely well kept, the Warden is superb in that there is a great welcome and generally very helpful too.  Indeed I was helped out of the site and, only because of help from the Warden, I avoided towing the caravan into a low wall...! The Bus Service into Cambridge is regular, cheap and convenient.  Cambridge is buzzing and packed full of great restaurants! We will return. Barry & Jan Worth

Lovely clean and quiet site near the centre of Cambridge

I stayed here for 6 nights at the beginning of September. My other half was at Cambridge Uni at this time so it was a nice break to stay in the caravan rather than the college digs. First thing that is different is that you cannot arrive before 1pm (well you can but you won't be able to get into the site as the office is closed till then). This wasn't a problem at all as I knew about it before I arrived. I arrived at about 1255 and had to wait behind 3 other units. Once you are booked in the warden shows you the available pitches on the map and advises you to have a walk around to chose which one you want, brilliant idea as the site isn't a circular site that you can drive around. It is a very popular site and for the whole time I was there it was full. Although it was full it was still very quiet and you never had to queue to use any of the service points or facilities. All facilities were immaculately clean as was the whole site. The wardens were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. There is a short dog walk although there are paths running behind the site, they are clearly marked as not Caravan Club site maintained, but still easy to walk. Across the road from the site are a disused quarry and a wildlife trail which are handy for dog walking. Just down the road (towards Cambridge city centre) is Cherry Hinton park, this is a lovely park and great for the dog to play ball. There is a bus stop near the site somewhere but I didn't use it. I can't really comment on the suitability for families, there isn't anything for the kids to do on site but then again its not the kind of place you would take kids to spend time on site. Overall I had a great stay and will be back next year.

Week end break in Cambridge

We spent a very enjoyable weekend with friends at Cherry Hinton Club site 9th - 12th September 2016. The welcome from the warden Alan was very friendly despite being quite late arriving. We were directed to the motorhome service point and our pitch (19) in a lower part of the site. It's an unusual site on numerous levels, ours being almost like a secluded woodland dell. Very peaceful and quiet! Facilities are spotless as expected of a club site. Cambridge with its beautiful colleges and gardens is a short bus ride away (number 3 from the crossroads) We enjoyed our stay and recommend the site for exploring Cambridge itself. Ely is also an easy drive (3/4 hour) with its impressive cathedral.
