Cambridge is the obvious attraction here with regular buses in the city. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk, just aim for the Robin Hood pub and its just past it.
Site is heavily wooded and pitches allocated.I was pitched in one of the cul de sacs which made it very quiet but probably would not have recieved much sun though. The Robin Hood pub is handy for a drink and meal, but if you walk remember to take a torch if like us walking back,as the path in Lime Kiln Road fairly narrow.
Visited Duxford and this made for an interesting if not tiring day out.
Attractions are plenty in Cambridge along with the atmospheric real ale pubs (The Eagle,Free Press to name two) whilst the wife can shop.
Meet up with mates
Although only living an hour away this was the half way point for our meet up with our friends. The warden and his wife Julie were very helpful in getting us paired up alongside each other. Site was very busy, in fact capacity as it has been for weeks, a great testament to the effort both wardens expend to maintain the facilities and grounds. Although 6+ years old the toilet shower facilities are excellent, good size cubicles and plenty of hot water. The bus stop into town is a short walk away with loads to do and see in town. A great site highly recommended.
Busy Cambridge
The site is well located for visiting Cambridge but as a partly disabled person I found Cambridge too busy and more road direction signs needed (I use a mobility scooter so needed to park in Cambridge). The surrounding area is lovely and we enjoyed our short stay. The Wardens were friendly, helpful and kept the site in very good order.

Cambridge visit
Ideal site for visiting Cambridge. Very good bus connections to City centre. Bus stop is 5 minutes walk from site bus fare 4:20 for all day anywhere ticket. Pub with decent food opposite bus stop. Enjoyed walking through University Backs etc and seeing the bridge of sighs.
Cherry on the Top
Lovely site. Great welcome from excelent wardens. Facilities well up to standard, shower block heated with piped music. Park and ride +/- 3 miles into Cambridge city centre. Two pubs within walking distance serving meals. Would definately use again and recomend.
Great location shame about the football.
We stayed here for two nights. Really interesting site in a disused quarry. Very attractive. Great facilities and ideal for the bus into Cambridge. Our only complaint was the sports field directly behind our pitch. The sports started about 9am and upon our return from Cambridge continued until 10pm. A football kept hitting the fence which drove us to distraction.

Great location
Stayed here for 3 nights in the third week of October . Have two dogs so was pleased that although the walking area within the site was small if you crossed the road at the entrance to the site and walked 100 yards to the left there was an entrance into the chalk pits which allowed safe off lead exercise for my two animals. Also the bus service into Cambridge was excellent. A five minute walk past the entrance to the chalk pits ( left at the Entrance to site ) take a right at the end of the road then a right at the traffic lights. 50 years ahead opposite the Robin Hood pub is the bus stop which runs into Cambridge every 10 to 15 mins. £4.20 1 adult return to the city Center. Every 20 mins on a Sunday. Exploring Cambridge is a must, would recommend the hop on hop off bus which takes you to all the main areas of interest with a running commentary . Would also recommend the punt trip on the river cam as this takes you to areas in accessible by foot. The site itself has helpful friendly wardens and the toilet blocks are kept extremely clean. If you have young children there is no play area. The Robin Hood pub is dog friendly and offers good food at a reasonable price. If you carry on walking past the pub you will reach the village of cherry Hinton where there are plenty of take out options including a Chinese and Indian. We tried the Chinese which was very nice. All in all a great 3 night stay and we would definetley return even though the trip was 245 miles ( south Wales )

Our stay
Having stayed on this site on numerous times we have always found the warden's very helpful and the site is always well kept. The 1pm rule dose apply on this site so dont arrive to earlyThere is a good bus service into Cambridge, buses during the day every 10 minutes and local NT properties nearby Anglesey Abbey,Wimpole Hall and Wicken fen is not far away. Cambridge airport is only just down the road and you will experience some air craft noise but nothing really to bother about to the right of the site you back on to the sports centre so there is some noise till late. The site can't be that bad as we would not keep going back.
Last break before winter
Stayed recently for 4 nights. School next door played football every night until 22.00 hrs. Woke up one morning to find a football next to my van. Dividing fence is very high, what damage if the ball had hit my van.
Water could have been hotter.
On the plus side, staff are excellent and the site is close to city centre.
I would stay again but away from the school side.
