Excellent Site
I always think that the wardens make the site and the wardens here are tops.
Very very friendly and very very helpful. Of course the location helps too, and what better location could you have?
A 20 minute bus ride from the centre of Canbridge with the bus stop a 10 minute walk away.
The site itself is very good with the different levels making it appear unregimented. The toilet block is so good and well maintained that it appears brand new.
The football pitch just outside the site was no problem to us as at least when kids are playing footie they are not stealing cars or being vandals.
The nature reserve across the road was also very interesting.
All in all a very good site
Very nice stay.
We have just stayed at this site for five nights from 13th March, and found the site very well kept and maintained to a high standard. The toilets and showers were excellent nice and clean and warm also a nice touch with radio 2 to listen to whilst showering. The site is a good location with buses into Cambridge every 10 mins. A good pub The Robin Hood which serves good food only a few minutes walk from the site. This is our third visit to this site and we will definitely return. Thank you for a very nice stay.
Enjoyable Weekend in Cambridge
Would recommend this site for its location closeness to Cambridge. The facilities were spotless, clean & heated & the warden was helpful when we were pitching for the first-time with our small caravan.
Will definitely stay again.
CHERRY HINTON CAMBRIDGE
Site access is a little tight for larger units and no circular return route on site. Excellent site for visiting city centre on frequent buses 5 minutes walk away.. Do not know why this site does not open for new visitors until 1pm so have to queue while waiting on arrival.

Overnighter
Based on one night stop over, this was perfect for us. Lovely friendly (I believe relief warden) concur with all previous, Cherry Hinton is no picturesque village (unless we missed that bit) but Tesco express, pub and loads of takeaways minutes away. We found the directions fairly awful, maybe that was us, the relief warden told us how to get back to M11 to go south, so next time I'd come off at J11 and follow the route via trumpington park and ride, dead easy. Also there was some sort of football pitch above us and they were playing til about 10pm and booting the ball into the chainlink fence constantly. Sorry I sound a bit moany, but other than that was fine. Can't comment re family friendly or Cambridge related issues, but perfect for an overnighter.
Ideal for Cambridge
A lovely, tranquil site which is ideal for visiting Cambridge and nice to be close to the amenities that Cherry Hinton has to offer. No point me harping on about inconsiderate dog owners who feel that the 'dogs on lead' rule does not apply to them, because nobody seems to care.

No Heating
We arrived early afternoon last Tuesday. The shower block heating was not on. The following morning it was still not on and the outside temperature was only 2 degrees. When I mentioned this to the warden, he was less than helpful, saying that "he only knew this if he was told". Surely, it is his job to check!!!. He then became even more difficult. At that point, I decided to phone CMC to complain. Later that day, I spoke to another member, who had had the same "discussion" with the warden, the day before!!! It appears that the warden does not check the facilities and that the heating had not been on for at least 3 days.
The site is a good location, but, both wardens have some issues regarding how they respond to members!!!
A good city break with handy dog walking.
This site is very handy for visiting the city of Cambridge as there are regular bus services into the city centre and dogs are allowed on the buses. The nature reserve opposite the site is very interesting and provides plenty of space for dogs to let off steam. We found a couple of pubs in the village that serve food and allow dogs in some areas. Do beware if in a motorhome - don't choose the first block of pitches on the left after reception! I had to do 3 x 3 point turns to get off the site via the motorhome service area! Luckily my campervan wasn't a problem doing this but a larger motorhome could have had difficulties.
Handy for city break
The site is immaculately kept with good facilities. Very frequent buses are only five minutes walk away. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Pitches are well laid out in attractive surroundings.
