Welcome

Friendly and a welcome feeling when we arrived on the site. We stayed for two nights. Very clean facilities en campsite. A visit at Cambridge City was from here very easy. We will be back in our next visit to England. Fam. Veldkamp, Holland

Welcome break

We arrived after a somewhat challenging drive around M25 and M11 and somewhat tense to be greeted by the extremely friendly and helpful wardens. The facilities especially the shower block were spotless throughout our stay and the layout of the site made it special and not like pitching in the middle of a featureless field. The wardens were helpful in passing on local knowledge of places to visit and where the buses ran from and importantly route numbers. The only down side to our stay was that we had only booked in for three nights and we found that there was so much to see and do that we did not have time to fit it in. We will definately be back to this site and for longer next time.

Great base for Cambridge. Caution re arrival times

We really liked the sites, lots of cul de sacs for privacy. Great bus (number 3) to the city centre. They do say no arrivals before 1pm on the web sites but when you book you are still able to put an arrival time of 12 MN. There was a crowd of us waiting to get in for a good hour as the office is shut till 1pm. Just beware as it's quite usual for a CC site

Cherry Hinton

Stayed on this site recently. The site was very well kept and toilet facilities lovey and kept clean. Great wardens, lovely and friendly and very helpful. This site is so handy for Cambridge with a great bus service. Hope to be back but it's a long way from Glasgow!!  The Robinhood pub is within walking distance and does very good food at a reasonable price.

happy.

Stayed here previously and never had any issues. Approach and access not dificult if you are competent and follow instructions. Greeted in the usual freindly and professional manor typical of a Club site. I wonder if the previous people visited the same site, their comments don't add up to me!

Very disappointed

We booked into this site for 3 nights, Very bad access approach road, But the real problem was the warden talk about a jobsworth. We set up and the next day another caravan parked nearby and mr jobsworth turned up and said to the people don't take any notice of those numptys referring to my wife and I this we took as an insult and made our minds up to cut our stay short and come home it ruined our stay, I really don't think this man should be running a caravan club sie

Close to historic Cambridge but that's about it!

Arrived after a long drive to be greeted by a rude and frosty reception. The warden could hardly be pleasant to us and we felt unwelcome as if we had interrupted her day. This was alien to us as all the Caravan Club sights we have visited, we have always been given a warm welcome. We will not be returning or recommend.

1st visit

Stayed here for 3 nights. Easy to find even though there was quite a few road works in the area and the High Street was closed to traffic. Road into site is single lane only so definitely don't arrive before due time as there's not a lot of room for waiting vehicles. We waited in a queue of 3 to check in. We were given a map showing us which pitches were available to us and advised to walk around and choose where we wanted to be. After choosing our pitch we let reception know and were then given our barrier key. We could order newspapers. It was very peaceful although busy. Toilets, showers and washing up area were immaculate. We were there for the cycling and the lady on reception kindly loaned us a cycling map which was really useful. She also explained where to get the buses from to take us into the centre of town. We loved the cycling in the area and its a great little site. We will recommend and visit again

Nice site shame about the staff !

A lovely site, but we were greeted( and I use that term very loosely ) by a very miserable, grumpy and downright rude warden, maybe she was having a bad day, but not what you need or expect after a long drive. A couple passed me as I was heading towards reception and warned me about the sergeant major in the office. I was very quickly told where my pitch was and was made to feel that I was in the way by simply being there. Very disappointing and am used to better from the caravan club. A lovely site nevertheless. Will I return? Yes I will and I hope the warden will be having a better day or has moved on to do a job that does not involve communicating with people!...

excellent site

We arrived at 1.15 and the vans were queuing just into site off the road.  The warden came and explained he had it all in hand and to just follow his directions.  Amazingly, he had about 15 vans organised in order in a very small space.  The best part was that he smiled and joked with tired and bewildered tourists to calm and organise the booking in.  His wife was equally welcoming and helpful.  The site is lovely with different parts to choose to pitch.  The toilet block is excellent even with piped music.  We travelled into Cambridge by bus, stop nearby, and went on bike rides. Recommend fish and chip van.  I can't recommend this site more highly!
