One of the best CC sites!

We stayed in our caravan for two weeks - the site comprises a number of separate areas which gives the feel of living on a small site. Good clean facilities. The wardens were always cheerful and worked hard to keep the site up to scratch. They suggested an exhibition in the city that we were not aware of. The road alongside the site is narrow and access by vehicle or on foot needs care.

Okay - but!

A pleasant site and not too crowded for a Caravan Club site. Let down by understaffing. There are only two here and although polite (not really friendly) stuck to the rules rigidly. There was a log jam of incoming caravans and motorhomes at 12.30 blocking the approach road and a notice saying they were at lunch. They did open up at 12.50 to move everyone sideways so that a European visitor could pass everyone by from the back of the queue. He had apparently arranged this. Showers were fine if a bit dated. Convenient for Cambridge but not a good site for motorhomes as the bus stop to Cambridge was some way away. Limited dog walking unless you drive.

Cherry Town night

Being born here and never been on the site, this had to change, so a one night stay was booked. So glad we did, the place was wonderful, the host was extremely helpful, the site was peaceful and friendly and fully booked. There are some lovely nooks, to tuck in to, or join the group in the middle field. Well worth the stay and we will be going again.

Lovely site

Have stayed here most years since we became members in 2008. One of our favourite sites. Bus service into Cambridge from nearby stop runs every ten minutes. Handy pub and shops within easy walking distance. Plenty to do in Cambridge which is always lively. Cheerful and friendly wardens.

Good site to access the city of Cambridge.

This is a good site to access the city of Cambridge. It's clean and has good facilities, which are well managed. On the negative side, it's probably not as friendly to children as other sites and unfortunately has a number of pitches that are in a considerable amount of shade. However, on balance this site is well worth a visit.

Cherry Hinton hideaway

Fantastic compact site. Handy for a bus into Cambridge as bus stop just down the road. Not much space for children running around but Cherry Hinton park a short walk away. Facilities well kept and spotless. Great little site

Cherry Hinton - from a newbie

Hi All, we are very new to Motor Homing and decided on Cherry Hinton as our first trial run, May 2016. Fairly easy access (with our "Hilda" as Kay has named her). Upon arrival the hosts were excellent and very friendly and gave us a map and asked us to walk the site and choose a pitch, a nice one surrounded by trees. We then filled up at the motorhome service point and settled into our pitch.Facilities are good with excellent shower block, and good waste disposal. Access to Cambridge was very easy a short walk to the bus stop opposite a pub serving reasonably good food. Cambridge its self is a lovely historic city lots to do but watch out for the cyclists. A very peaceful location, probably more suited to adults rather than kids and great for a short break.

Great site for Cambridge

Cherry Hinton is an excellent site being well up to Caravan Club standards. Some of the pitches are a little tight but this is a result of the site being in an old quarry which gives it its charm. Given that it is in a quarry we found the TV reception to be excellent. It is in a great location to explore Cambridge. Apparently the bus service into Cambridge is excellent although we drove in each time (10 minutes) and experienced no problems parking.  The local pub offers reasonable quality food at reasonable prices but overall I would recommend a visit to the White Hart in nearby Fulbourn. A fish'n'chip van visits the site on a Friday between 5.30 & 7.30 pm and it's very good. Beware of pitch 10. It's under a tree that appears to be the preferred roost of an incontinent eagle!

Cambridge cherry hinton

Wonderful site in a great location. Easy access to Cambridge on the bus and close to a pub. Well maintained by the wardens who were the most friendly and helpful we have ever met. A credit to the club. One downside Beware of the Wood Pigeons!! They make an awfull mess of your awning.
