We only stayed here for 24 hours but it felt much longer. Arrived Saturday lunchtime, set up, went exploring. Couldn't believe we were just outside Bury. Some lovely walks right from the site with interesting history.
The only downside is the railway track next to the site. Old diesel engines run past at regular intervals during the day. Not a problem if you're out exploring during the day though.
Much needed weekend break.
short stayjust needed to get away for a couple of nights
we just wanted to get away for a couple of nights, we only live about 30 mins away, not 4 or 5 hrs away like devon which where we stopped a mth or so ago, but once you closed the door and closed your eyes, with your thoughts drifting away you can be any were you want, I cant fault this place, J . Burrs Break
Often thought about going to Burrs but never quite made it. Finally went in September and really enjoyed it. Lots of interest round a bout and a nice walk up the Irwell trail to Ramsbottom. The East Lancs railway is not to be missed.
Worth going over the cobbles!
This is an excellent site for relaxing and enjoying the scenery either from the site or from walking / driving the area. The Country Park is great and the pub right by the park entrance is welcoming and grand for a meal after arriving on site. Facilities are A1.
Extra signs as you go over the bridge and / or just before the pub car park might save a few grey hairs. We'll definitely return.
Burrs country Park site
An excellent, very well maintained and accessible site. The staff are very welcoming and the site has all one would need for a comfortable stay. The toilet block was immaculate and other facilities were kept clean and accessible. The only slight down side for our stay was the number of people visiting with numerous pet dogs. I should say that I am not a dog fan so the fairly regular barking of these canine 'friends' was a slight irritation. That said the site is well positioned for trips to the world famous Bury market as well as being pretty handy for Manchester. All in all a highly recommended site.

Burrs country park
Beautiful clean well kept site, great pitches. toilet and shower blocks perfectly clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Site well situated for Bury and Manchester . Pub just off site good beer good food dog friendly.
Better than expected!
We booked this site for a weekend away not too far from us. My husbands reaction was "a getaway to Bury? Oh Great!" After driving through the estate to get there we were pleasantly surprised. The site is absolutely spotless, with large spacious pitches, an activity centre nearby, a pub just off site that does fabulous meals and a good choice of ales. The pub has a large beer garden too. Dogs are welcome in and out and although we don't have a dog this didn't bother us at all.
This is less than a 5 minute drive to the centre of Bury so we visited the market whilst the men went for a bike ride. There is a nature trail nearby and we saw children learning to ride bikes, playing ball games, walking dogs or just being outdoors.
The site is very peaceful but the train track for the East Lancashire railway has tourist trains passing throughout the day. We saw a lot of train spotting caravanners in their glory.
Overall we had a lovely chilling weekend and will definitely go back.
Just Brilliant Top of the Range.
Nothing to dislike.Ticked all the required fields.
Will definitely visit again.
Plenty of space, immaculately presented. Well done to the Wardens.
Plus so convenient for Manchester Liverpool and other surrounding areas.
