Buckleys break

on three occasions in a week i had to queue for gents toilet. 4 toilets is not enough when site is full. Why not make 5 of the privacy cubicles into toilets?I have no complaints otherwise everywhere immaculate staff great etc.

First time stay

Our first stay on those site. Friendly helpful staff, well maintained. A pub on the doorstep. What more could you want. Would be nice to be able to book a weekend without having to book years in advance. Would love to go back.

Good stopover, immaculate site, but no play area

We stayed at Burrs for 1 night on our way from Scotland to Devon.  The directions in the CC book are wrong, so we got horribly lost on the way, but once there it was lovely. The wardens were helpful, facilities clean, site immaculate. Well done. We will use this site again. It would be even better if there was a play area for energetic children to let off steam in! Speaking of steam, the steam train went past a few times quite late at night, didn't bother us as we were only there for 1 night, and it had to compete with thunder and lightening!

Burr's Aug 2015

A pleasent return to this little gem of a site. Having first visited just after opening way back when it was good to return. Nothing negative to report, All facilities spotless & staff friendly & helpful. Many peoples reviews point out people cutting through pitches ! We observed this throughout the weekend. Very annoying but i think some blame should be taken by designers of these sites. ( Although manners should prevail ! ) It's almost human nature to take a direct route and they should really design a straight through pathway to the site's facilities. Anyway great site fab weekend loved the market & East Lanc's Railway.

Spotless facilities and site

This was our first time using a Caravan Club site and the first time we have ever been out with a caravan! It feels like we may have spoilt ourselves too soon in the new chapter in our lives of caravanning! The facilities and site were spotless throughout, Reception was very helpful. Off the site was the pub for the thirsty and hungry amongst us and for the dog, Burrs Country Park was literally minutes away for them to stretch their legs and have a paddle. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our first experience and hope it is the first of many.

Peaceful site, great for dog owners

I can highly recommend this site. Just returned from our second visit of the year. We were visiting relatives in the area. Peaceful site, immaculate facilities. Site was quite full but never felt busy or rushed, plenty of room in showers and toilets whenever we required them. Handy location for buses and walks. Brilliant for dog walking in the Country Park next door (lots of different walks to find). River for the dog to swim, pottery remnants for kids (and adults!) to find in there too. Nice walks around the former industrial mill area, surprisingly picturesque for Bury (where I grew up). Handy to be able to visit Manchester easily on the Metrolink (no dogs allowed though). Good walk from Ramsbottom (a stop on the East Lancs Railway) up to the top of Holcombe Hill. The first time we visited we ate at the Brown Cow. Never again! Terrible vegetarian offerings and under-cooked frozen chips. Can highly recommend the Victoria Hotel in nearby Walshaw (10 minute drive up Tottinton Rd/ Walshaw Road). Very friendly and accommodating, dog friendly, great food at very reasonable prices. Visited both times we were at Burrs and they were consistently good. We'll be back to the site and the Victoria Hotel!

Up there with the average Club site

All you would expect from a club site ie clean, all facilities work, quiet etc. The staff were very friendly and perhaps above average. The only negative observation that I would make was that the male toilet cubicles got busy in the morning and probably could have done with an additional one. That said, they were kept in an immaculate condition. The Brown Cow pub is very convenient as it is situated adjacent to the site gates. The prices are reasonable. Although we have been to this site previously we hadn't previously noticed that the off road cycle path located down Woodhill road goes 2 ways. One way goes to Bury town centre whilst the other goes to the Toby Inn at Greenmount. From here (Toby Inn) you can cycle to Ramsbottom although this stretch is mixed on / off road. Thanks for a nice break

Very Impressed

This was our first visit to a Club site since becoming members and we were very impressed by what we experienced at the Burrs. The welcome was friendly, the facilities were spotlessly clean, and the site was very well maintained. The location is excellent and was very central for us visiting friends in Bury and attending a wedding in Rochdale. I would happily recommend the Burrs to anyone and would also highly recommend a visit to the Brown Cow Pub next to the entrance. The food and drinks were great and they have a huge childrens' play area outside.
