A place we had not been to

Good site good view of the railway and steam trains. clean facilities ad friendly wardens. The only down side was the very muddy hard standing pitch ours was in need of some more gravel.

disappointed !!!

by the caravan club for putting on Facebook that a railway station has been set up here ,altered my plans for last week to go there for a few nights thinking great I can get a train into Bury so was gutted to be told it's not actually in use as yet ,so misleading information by the club so all the bookings I have in Nov and Dec I have cancelled I know you can get the bus into town but last bus is at 14.00 or at least that's what the timetable on the bus stop says ,you can walk into town but as it takes 10 mins to get out of the park and onto the road then it's another 30 mins this makes it along walk not one to be done on a wet day being single means a taxi is not cheap i wanted to go there Christmas eve but can't now just in case it's a wet day thus making it difficult to walk into town ,but had a nice few days there met some lovely people in the Brown Cow !!

Good site

Not the best area but Good sites  wi-Fi drops in and out all the time seems to be a lot of rules and regulations on the site but overall the local area where the site is situated is beautiful and the site is lovely and clean and friendly

Return visit

We are originally from this area so it's lovely to have this site conveniently situated for the town and countryside. We were there in January for the flying Scotsman train journey and since then they have made an excellent route up to the side of the line with a station due to open January 2017. The site is beautifully kept and the facilities are excellent. My husband needs to use the disabled facility, lovely and warm with everything operational which is not always the case, therefore WELL DONE to all staff that make our stay perfect. We will return!!!

Flying Scotsman again

Yet another visit to enjoy the East Lancs Railway. Staff extremely friendly and updated us on proposed site extension.  Facilities immaculate as usual. We managed to arrive early enough for a pitch with a fantastic line side view of the railway. Bury market always worth a visit, just a mile away partly by riverside footpath. Several walks around including footpath to Summerseat and dog friendly garden Centre.  Good pub within metres, also dog friendly.  We shall be back next year.

Great Place

Ignoring the approach which does shake, rattle and roll everything, this is a great little site. Went to Blackpool to see the lights!!! Went to Bury Market, worth looking at, and the Flying Scotsman whistled by. Level pitches with plenty of space, good wardens and a pub that you fall into as you walk out the gate. What's not to like?

More first timers

As in the title, first timers at Burrs. Agree with other reviewers all well in the Park! Friendly wardens, clean facilities and tidy park. The entrance is ideal for cocktail drinkers, shaken not stirred!! But then it's all part of the area and it's former use. Great, will be back as only just over a hour from home.

Burrs Country Park

This was an overnight stop for us, after a long journey the busy approach roads and urban environment proved to be a bit tiring. The park was handy for dog walking and we enjoyed a meal in The Brown Cow pub, nice and friendly in there. If you like a country in the town feel and access to shops and the Manchester area this site is in a good spot. A bit noisy from development work in the park but no doubt that will finish at some point. Cheerful welcome from the wardens, always appreciated, thankyou!

Peaceful

WE had heard so many good reviews on this site so had to visit and it was as everyone said so peaceful the grounds and facilities were perfect and having the steam trains go past makes it a perfect site, we called in the pub next door and had a lovely drink. There is so many walks right outside the doorstep with being disabled I took my scooter to go with my husband on walks but right outside the camp the road is so potholed then it goes to a cobbled road which my scooter could not cope with so was very disappointed had to sit and wait for my husband to come back and show me pictures of the beautiful walks he went on. Would definitely go again and go out in the car to accessible places for my scooter.
