Lovely week

As always the Wardens are so helpful, amusing and they do a magnificent job. We had a great week at Burrs Country Park, the passing steam trains are a bonus, likewise the close proximity to the fantastic park. It is a lovely site. Facilities are good and scrupulously clean. Only draw backs.....the one washing machine was out of order (but being mended on the morning we left) and wifi reception was a pain as it kept failing meaning you are continually looking for a good spot to log on. I think the trees obscure the wifi aerial. Suggestion: could the mast be raised to it's full height which would alleviate the problem I think??? But altogether a brilliant week was spent here and we would most definitely return if up this way again.

Great for train enthusiasts

This was my first time at this site although I'm familiar with the area. Lots of interesting places to visit with good public transport nearby. The steam trains were an added interest and lovely to see. Folks wave at you from the trains and, Saturday evening, one actually stopped on the line adjacent to the site whilst serving the diners. Unfortunately, at the moment, the top end of the site can be a tad noisy whilst construction work is taking place on the track side but worth it I hope once the new station is built. Good size pitches, clean facilities block, park adjacent for exercising dogs, as well as a pub with play area and, on the whole, a good site. Pity that there's always the few who feel that the 5 mph and 12 noon arrival time is for everybody else and not them. There are two barriers and any more than one early arrival can cause problems at the first barrier for those already 'in residence' needing to get back on site. The access road is very poor as, apart from the cobbles which can't be helped, the area immediately in front of the first barrier and pub car park is in a dreadful state with mega potholes so care is needed. Will definitely use this site again.

Great site

We stayed here for the August bank holiday weekend and as usual had a good break. The site is ideally situated for getting into the hustle and bustle of Manchester should you want it, however Bury is more than adequate for a bit of retail therapy if that's what you fancy. If I were to be picky, our only gripe was that the grass was a bit long, could've done with a cut but like I said that's being really picky. All but one of the wardens were jolly and helpful, but hey ho, we all have an off day I suppose but I was only trying to be helpful by telling him in passing that the floors in the ladies facilities were still really wet after being cleaned, I didn't want anyone to slip and then have a go.....

nice site

just had a weekend at this site it was brilliant on arrival and during our stay the Wardens were very pleasant the site is very well kept the showers exceptional as one would expect on a caravan site the wardens work very hard to maintain the facilities if i had a gripe and i am not nit picking the water pressure is poor which i am not sure why and the entrance into the site the roadway is a little poor it requires a little attention as i am sure when we get bad weather it will get really bad also not a lover of cobbled roads i would have thought though the caravan may not be responsable but other than that it was good

Amazing Time

Amazing describes this lovely site. The staff are all welcoming and friendly.  Toilets and showers to a high standard.  Lovely sized pitches.  There is a pub which allows dogs in.  Food is fab in there.  Country park for walking dogs.   All in all absolutely amazing. Been now a few times and already booked again.   Relaxing chilled out holiday watching the steam trains go by.  Definitely recommend this site if you have not been before.  Not far from the famous Bury Market.   Grounds are clean and tidy.....

Great Site

This was our first visit to Burrs and hopefully wont be our last. A lovely site, well maintained and beautifully kept, in a great location next to a lovely park with nice riverside walks. On arrival the wardens we met were very pleasant and helpful and explained about the site and the pitching arrangements. The pitches are vary spacious and fairly level with plenty of service points. The amenity building is exceptional, always clean and although the site was about 75% full were never busy. At the entrance to the site is a nice pub with a beer garden and another bonus are the steam trains running along side the site, a chap told me that they are hoping to create a stop on the line just by the site which will make going into Bury even easier as it is well worth a visit. There is a bus stop a good 10 mins walk from site but a taxi might be better, around £5 e/w, there is a well stocked info room with lots of numbers etc. All in all a great site, great location and nice people.

Fabulous relaxing holiday

Second visit this year and it was a fabulous as last time. Arrived on 19th August and had a serviced pitch for the first time ever so was unsure what to do (hubby has a broken leg so hence the serviced pitch as it was easier all round). The wardens couldn't have been more helpful getting us set up with water and wast. The site is exceptionally well kept and the location is fabulous. Bury is just a five - ten minutes drive away, however you feel like your miles from anywhere when onsite. We will definitely be back again soon.

Great site for peace and quiet

We stayed here 2 weeks ago for 4 nights. Made very welcome on arrival by female warden, had nice pitch next to the bunnies and showers and toilet facilities were very clean. Add to that the fact that a bus stop to Bury is 10 minutes walk away, pub next to site, although we didn't go in, and lots of walkways nearby, this all adds up for a good location. Do visit Bury market if you stay here...It has everything. We will definitely go back. Thank you for 4 restful days.

Beautiful Burrs

Brillant site for a quiet break.  Friendly staff, clean and tidy site. East Lancashire railway runs past site, but trains run 9.30 til 5pm so noise not a problem. Plenty of country walks .Easy cycling into Bury centre where you can ride the steam trains or catch metro link into Manchester. Don't  miss the fantastic Bury market on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We had a wonderful week there and will certainly be visiting again.
