Fantastic Five

I/we (1 Caravan, 1 Campervan, 1 Motorhome) stayed at Bunree during July this year, great site with views to die for. Some great lowland walks within striking distance of the site. Its a short ride up to Fort Bill to restock supplies and access to the site is very easy. The wardens as always where fantastic, very friendly and always helpful. I imagine this may have been my first visit but probably not my last.

Two great nights

My wife and I stayed at this site on our way to Skye. The location of this site gives an opening to the spectacular scenery on the West Coast of Scotland. We just relaxed and soaked in the view. The site is kept in a lovely condition. Thank you wardens for making our all to brief a stay very enjoyable. I think we will be returning.

Bunree to the rescue

We had booked a site further up the coast  ( no CC site in this region ) but having looked it over we beat a hasty retreat and called Bunree who managed to squeeze us in and drove the 80 miles to arrive before the site closed for the night.   We had stayed here a couple of years ago so knew that it is probably the best located CC site in the UK and were really pleased to get in. We got an "upgrade " next day to shoreside as we wouldn't use our awning.  We stayed 4 days in largely pleasant weather and explored by road and walking/cycling every day.  Plenty places to visit. The site has daily comings and goings of members and was full every day.....no surprise there! The views from here are magnificent.  The wardens are top notch, very friendly and accommodating. The facilities are CC standard but now probably in need of a refurb over the winter.... Hint hint...... We left as the rain started and drove the 340 miles home - it is still raining there ( after 3 days ) !!!! Up there with the overall best 5 CC sites ..

Great views

Our second time at Bunree and sadly both times we had a deluge of rain so not able to enjoy it at its best. However during the very brief spell when the rain stopped we were able to walk along the edge of the Loch to get some photos. If we were there longer and during better weather it would mean driving out as not actually in Fort William. The wardens were friendly and all as you would expect from a CC site. The shower block was clean but looked a little tired.

Beautiful location

Location of this site is simply stunningly beautiful (although I think the description of Bunree as IN Fort William is stretching it a little as it's 10 miles away!) Wardens superbly friendly and helpful; facilities immaculately clean and tidy. If you're a hill-walker you'll be in heaven; if you like the Highlands you'll love this place, although shops and other facilities are all a good step away by car. If the weather's kind I could sit for days just looking at it, and even when it's raining it just changes from one beauty to another. (aside observation - Absolutely NOT the site's fault, but we weren't at all impressed with any part of Fort William itself except for its excellent Morrisons! - this was in June, and maybe it's better when it's covered in snow and the skiing/climbing season is underway, he said optimistically....)

Holiday Haven

A beautiful location to stay at, wonderful scenery and lots of wildlife to see. The site is very well cared for by friendly helpful wardens, we stayed back from the loch side as we used an awning, but still had a clear view of the ever changing scenery. A good central spot to visit lots of beautiful areas and interesting places.

Just when you did not think things good get better.

An unscheduled stop as we had a problem with motorhome and needed to find a garage. We had been enjoying the scenery of Loch Ness and the breathtaking mountains. The wardens were very helpful and put us in touch with a local garage Chisholms, who were also really helpful and sorted our problem. We got a lochside pitch and even with the weather not being at its best the landscape was stunning. You can walk the dogs on the beach. Next time we come to Scotland this will be high on the list to visit. A great end to our Scottish trip.
