I would like to say a big thank you to all the team at Broadway, particularly Deb and Steve, who helped me sort out the hash I’d made of my bookings. They were patient and kind even though I was having a meltdown .
The site is everything you would expect of a good CAMC site, spacious pitches and great facilities. The location is perfect for touring the Cotswolds and also some great walking straight from site.
Stayed 2 nights on our way back home from Cornwall. We were lucky because we had the perfect pitch for my husband being opposite the heritage railway. The staff were friendly and helpful and kept the site immaculate. What a busy time they have with the extra work regarding being covid safe.
The dog walks are excellent and views from by the railway line really lovely.
The only thing that bothered me was the inconsiderate people who parked below us in their caravans who ignored the signs about not walking their dogs in the area allocated for grass pitches. These sort of people give the rest of us dog owners a bad name. There are 2 lovely dog walks where dogs can be allowed loose on site and really nice public footpaths to take the dogs so there was no need for these selfish people to do this. We didnt report the people to the staff because they have enough to deal with and when I was talking to another dog owner in the dog walk area they told me that they had heard people being rude to the staff when they mentioned to people about the rules, this both for people speeding and indeed walking their dogs where they shouldnt. The last thing I wanted was for staff to be abused but the thought of that is terrible - the fact that people when asked to follow the rules are then abusive to the staff.
We thought the staff were most helpful and kind.
Just a stopover for us but we know the area and the site is in a good spot to explore the Cotswolds. We walked to the village and it was busy even on a late Sunday afternoon, a typical popular tourist venue.
The site is well kept, nice play area for children and the steam railway is adjacent to the back of the site. Handy shop over the road from the site entrance and a bus service. Some road noise but not too bad even on our pitch which was nearest to the traffic.
The site was billed as having a rural feel. We didn't find this at all with significant road noise. Walk into Broadway is along a busy road and the village has nice buildings but felt a bit over commercialiaed for our tastes However, if you want top end shopping and some good places to eat it has a good range of places. Walk to Broadway tower is good but a steep climb up. Pitches were large and level but fairly overlooked pitch to pitch.
My second trip out with the new Motor home. Broadway is a lovely clean site, well run and just a few minutes walk to a thriving village. Fellow campers are just great always willing to assist a newbie like me. I want to thank David from Glamorgan for assisting with the awning set up and solving a gas cylinder problem I had.
I will definitely return in the near future.
We only stayed 2 nights but will be back. We have 2 dogs and found the 2 dog areas very useful, 1 is an area with a few trees which is ideal for a quick walk, the other is a woodland track. Both are fine to let the dogs free run. The walk into Broadway is about 10 minutes and the path is nice and wide. Lots of eateries in Broadway, we walked the dogs in and found it dog friendly and also people were being sensible during this Covid pandemic. The wardens at the site were very efficient and also friendly which is a great combination. Our multi surface pitch was a good size and clean and tidy. In fact the whole site was well maintained.
From the call I received the day before, to check my booking, to the cleanliness of the site, I was not able to fault the Broadway site. The full service pitch was clean, mown and tidy and the whole site looked cared for. All of the staff made me feel welcome and answered my questions with information beyond what I expected.
The crows in the trees were a bit noisy, at dusk and dawn, but seeing such a large 'murder' of crows was worth putting up with the noise.
I will certainly be visiting again.
Been to this site numerous times since 2002 when it had only recently then been upgraded.
Covid arrangements very well organised and clear.
Had a nice break, although Broadway looked busy so we just walked in and out. Can’t judge in the current climate.
Some pitches are easily water logged when there is heavy rain and there are quite a few weeds on pitches at the moment - including serviced pitches which make them look untidy.
Facilities are clean on the whole but having the door open all day allows dirt and leaves etc to blow in.
I noticed some of the showers are looking tired now - cracked panels, black mould in places, tiles switches/ shower heads loose etc and the power of the shower isn’t what it used to be. If we are paying premium prices, then shouldn’t the facilities be of the highest standard too?!
This is no reflection on the wardens but the club itself.
Had the pleasure of staying for 7 nights great site fantastic walking straight from site nice easy walk into Broadway, although the site was full you never feel crowded in as it’s well laid out the wardens are a credit to club always very busy keeping everything very clean and tidy we will be back very soon.
During our recent stay our visit was spoilt a bit by some dogs (of which there was a lot) and their owners who allowed their Pets to bark frequently from dawn to dusk and doing nothing to stop them. A pity because it is a real nice and well run site.
