Great site
First visit to Brighton
A little request!
Great location Superbly kept facilities ( need water tap for late arrivals)
Great Site (time for some ground works?)
As many others have said location here is the key, with easy access to the South Downs for walking, and Brighton itself a short bus ride (or for the more energetic, a walk along the sea front!). Not only for local people, there are also plenty of local shops nearby as well as a large ASDA in the Brighton Marina complex.
One innovation that should please many using this site, is that a new “dog area” has been established adjacent to the northern toilet block and fenced off from the children’s play area. Although not really a dog “walk” as such, this is an excellent idea as the distance from the furthest pitches on the site, to the entrance is considerable. Especially if you have an older animal, who may not be able to make it all the way to the fields outside the site without an “accident”. A positive development and one that should be applauded by all.
There is now the curious sight of large pitches marked as “without awning” and smaller pitches directly adjacent, being marked as “with awning”. Why is this ? Some of the pitches have become so compacted and hard, it is now very difficult and almost impossible in some cases to drive in awning pegs. So, if you’ve been used to going to a “favourite spot” at Brighton, you may find that it has been re-classified as “without awning”. By no means a major problem, but something to be aware of.
The site itself though very well maintained, is starting to show signs that after many years some ground work is now required. Don’t let that put you off though, Brighton is a great site, with brilliant, well kept and spotless facilities and very definitely well worth a visit.
