Lovely Site

Lovely site, close to Brighton Marina and a nice stroll down to Brighton Pier. Small shops and Lidls close by. We stayed here recently and the staff were lovely, very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The site is lovely and clean, with the addition of piped music through the toilets and shower block which were also spotless. We have stayed here twice this year and will certainly be back again. So peaceful in the evening. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nice Stay As Always

We stayed here for 2 nights from the 2nd to the 4th November 2018 and always find this site brilliant. The facilities are great but the main draw is how close it is to everything in Brighton. The Marina is a 15 minute walk away, and has all the bars and restaurants you could ever hope for plus a cinema, then the city centre is just a short bus trip away too. We found out about an Indian food delivery service called Saffron’s who deliver to the site’s front gate, just make sure you have cash on you as that’s all they accept (there’s flyers for them in the Info room). Also check out Mac’s cafe in Arundel Road (2 minute drive from the site) who do a nice takeaway bacon sandwich. We can also highly recommend Busby and Wilds restaurant in Rock Street (15 to 20 minute walk from the site’s main gate) who do nice steaks, burgers, fish and chips etc and a superb sticky toffee pudding. As it’s a shortish walk, every one can have a drink too...happy days! There’s so much on offer just a short distance from the site which makes Brighton Caravan and Motorhome Club site pretty much our favourite winter site! If you like a nice, fairly peaceful site that’s also close to everything a major city offers, check this one out.

Brilluant

Lovely site I don’t understand people’s moans about this site, we have been to most sites in the cmc book and this is well kept, clean and friendly wardens. Easy walk into Brighton about 45 minutes 20 minutes to the marina. Love the music in the toilet blocks smooth while you having a shower ❤️ We will be back shame it’s so far away we’ll done everyone for a lovely site x

Great site to explore Brighton

Great warm welcome on arrival. Very clean showers/toilets and always a shower available when we needed one. A bit noisy with some sort of building site behind the site but only during the day and in the week. Comments about the road to the site we didn't understand as there was plenty of room. Great site situated perfectly for exploring Brighton, which is a fantastic place.

1st visit and we loved it!

My mum and I took my two girls and the dog to this site for 4 nights over half term. Was greated by one of the friendly lady wardens who told us a bit about the area and gave us lots of leaflets on buses and things to do. Our 1st time in a serviced pitch which was really nice. Although must remember to bring my own hose next time to fill up the water. Kids loved doing a trip into Brighton in the bus, it worked really well and saved slot of hassle on finding parking. Great trip and can’t wait to go back again next year!

Pleasantly surprised

I worried about whether I had taken right decision when I read some of the reviews on this and other sites but needn’t have worried. The staff were very friendly and helpful and able to answer most queries. For a large site it was very peaceful and quiet and the pitches nice and roomy. I selected a,pitch at the top of the site and the only regrets I had with this were the distance to walk. Could do with at least a basic toilet block at the top of the site. It took me most of my stay to find out there was a rubbish disposal point and water nearer to my pitch, after I had walked to the toilets. My only gripe is with the site being in the park it was quite a long walk to the nearest bus stops to be able to go into Brighton or the marina. When added to the distance from my pitch to the entrance it was somewhat a difficult walk as I have slight walking difficulties at the moment. I saw some pitches reserved for disabled but wasn’t sure if you had to have a blue badge for these and as it was already part way through my stay I didn’t wish to uproot myself.

October Visit With an RV

We attended the site with our American RV and were welcomed by the staff without any problems. The Hard Standing Pitches that the Wardens keep for RV's were great with plenty of space & no issues with access or egress. We arrived on a Friday afternoon & although there were some coaches parked on the access road we negotiated them without any issues. We are 2.9m wide & 12m long. It was good to visit a Caravan & Motorhome site without encountering any problems due to us having an RV. Great staff & very helpful.

Beware of possible access problems

In general this site is well run and being close enough to Brighton centre convenient for most holiday purposes. But you may encounter access problems on certain days of the year when organised activities are taking place in the adjoining park and sports fields. We arrived just after 12 noon on a Sunday to find absolute chaos due to a massive cycle race event. Cars, coaches and vans were illegally parked on the narrow access road to the campsite making it almost impossible to get in, with consequent huge traffic jams on surrounding roads. The wardens said they had not been told about the event beforehand. But otherwise the site is fine save for the usual complaints, registered here in other reviews, regarding dogs, Muzak in the toilet blocks and speed. One caravan outfit came by us on the crescent at the top of the site doing at least 35mph. And I did mention to a warden the crazy chemical emptying points where the tap hose was so long it was fouled by the effluent and when you tried to use it to rinse the tank the backflow device prevented it from being possible. I gather this is a problem elsewhere too. Why? How long has the Club been in existence? One final warning....we found that the pitches furthest from the entrance were bothered by flies whereas those down the site were apparently not so unfortunate. Maybe something to do with proximity to the civic dumpit site further up the hill.

Pleasant, and feels small, for a large large site

I like everything about this site, except for one thing… Please remove the piped “music” from the toilet blocks. You may like 60s and 70s pap but after each visit to the facilities I felt like smashing things.

Enjoyble Time

We stayed at this site middle of August, the Warden's were very friendly, hard working and chatty. The site is a credit to them, I think they work very hard to keep it clean and tidy. The only problems we saw were irresponsible people thinking the rules apply to others and not them, think again please!! Dog owners just letting their dogs wander round pitches without a tether and allowing their dogs to toilet on pitches because they are too bone idle to walk them off site. Then there are the clowns who ignore the 5mph speed limit...the limit is in place for a reason....saving a couple of seconds is not worth risking another childs life!! There are only a few simple, easy to follow rules, try considering other people using the sites and stop having a go at the wardens for trying to ensure you have a safe and stress free stay.
