Good location on outskirts of Brighton and within walking distance to the Marina and superstore Asda and other shops/cinema. On arrival pleasant staff to check in with but no information other provision of the site map provided, would have expected more as it was our 1st visit to the popular site.
The pitches are of a good size and flat, its very difficult to peg into the hard standing ground as has been previously mentioned in other reviews. General good facilities on site, dog area is central but small but theres a large nearby park for the dogs and kids . The information room was good with information on local walks, take away delivery etc.
There are some harsh comments in the visitors book about the site which were unfair, the wardens keep the place tidy so Id question guests more as every time we used the dish washing area we had to clean out the sinks and the ladies toilets... wow there are some nasty women out there who need to flush - look and flush again!
Overall a good roadtrip over the festive period and a site we would go back to should we go to Brighton again.
Pleasantly Surprised
I have been to Brighton Club Site before but many years ago,and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised.Yes i was out of season and can imagine this site could get very busy at peak times. However even in October it was very busy.It is possible to walk into Brighton Marina for restaurants and pubs and an ASDA. Brighton in itself has a busy vibrant town centre with the Lanes to while away the shopping hours.
The first week of my stay encountered very good weather meaning a stroll along the seafront was possible from the site.Parking is awful around Brighton so you could use the Volkes electric railway for a change to transport you into the town.
My pitch did back onto Whitehawk football club so not sure what the noise evel would be when they play at home.
All in all a very good site, with approachable warden team and handliy placed for Brighton and surrounds.
Great Stay
Location of site good for visiting Brighton & surrounding area. Site as expected well tended & shower blocks to the usual high standard. All wardens we met were very pleasant & helpful.
The only downside was the noise from neighbours leaving at 06:00 leaving engine running & slamming doors & another who had obviously mislaid something & was slamming all lockers & door at 22:00, but you can get that anywhere.
Recommended site & we will be returning

Excellent site.
An excellent site close to Brighton. Staff were very cheerful and they all seemed to be enjoying there work. The site is extremely clean. Will be staying there again. The only bad point was we had to leave.
Surprisingly peaceful
Spent the weekend on this site which was well maintained and considering how close to a city it is it’s peaceful. Large flat pitches spread over a number of different areas.
Can we have some money spent on the needs of traditional members please?
We use this site often because of family commitments in the area, and we have seen some changes over the years. The site is always busy and is definitely not what I would regard as a peaceful site, but we didn't experience any really rowdy behaviour or other disturbances during our stay. We enjoyed a first class reception from Debbie and Nick in the office, all smiles, helpful advice and a really warm welcome. Where things went wrong was the condition of the pitch. I am not exaggerating when I say it was impossible to get steel rock pegs into the ground using a 4lb club hammer, so I went to B&Q and bought a SDS drill in order to penetrate the concrete that lies a couple of inches under the stones. What irritates me is that the club has known about this problem for some time and the only response has been to change some awning pitches to non-awning because it's impossible to get pegs into the ground. Meanwhile, money has been found to convert two grass pitches to hard-standings in order to accommodate two over-priced Airstreams, lay new roadways at the top of the site to service the ten or so new glamping pods that have been built, etc etc, but there's no cash to dig up and re-surface the hard-standings for the benefit of us long-standing traditional caravanners. I've been paying my membership fees and site fees for over 30 years and I feel that the club now regards me as a dinosaur while spending money on "Experience Freedom" projects. Come on Caravan Club, let's try looking after those of us that still want to experience our freedom in the traditional way.
Not the best
Been to this site a few times but our recent visit was disappointing. Pitches had weeds and grass growing on them, toilet block (upper) was in need of a good clean or refurbishment. The soap dispenser never had any soap in it during our stay even tho people had complained.
Dish washing area did not have any sink plugs, gravel off the pitches all over the road ways, people speeding around site and general noise from camping field until late every night.
One warden was only interested in spraying white lines by outfit marker pegs, he even sprayed over our mains cable as he was to idle to move it.
The only part of the site kept tidy was around reception.
General feeling with fellow caravaners was very similar during our stay with some saying they wouldnt return - not good ☹
Warm weekend
We have just spent a very warm weekend at this site, which on the whole was fine. However as mentioned by someone else the wardens do not seem to uphold the rules of the site. Why do people feel it necessary to rush about in cars and outfits? The speed limit on all club sites is 5mph, but this was disregarded by many. This rule is there for the safety of all, please stick to it. Some groups were also really noisy late evening and before 8 am. The facilities were ok, but had to ask for soap to be filled on 2 occasions in loos half hour after cleaning.
Great Location but could do better
We have tired to get on this site for years and booked a year ahead for a 2 night weekend stay, family of 4 with a dog. The positivee reviews are all accurate, the location of the site is brilliant as you can get into Brighton on a bus or taxi and the south downs is close. This is why the site is always busy or fully booked. The pitches vary and our pitch (standard with awning) was a large pitch and was fine, but far from facilities. There are some improvements the site could make- the kids playground is small and only has younger children's equipment, my 9 year olds were not impressed and only played for 10 minutes before saying it was too young for them and despite encouragement would not go back during our stay. Other CMHC sites we have been to have a mix of equipment that cater for 5-12 years rather than 5-7 years and our children have played for ages. The dog walk is tiny, the smallest I have ever seen on a club site. whilst I appreciate its for dog to do its business and not for a walk (as you take them to the countryside) when the site is full and there are many does this is not fit for purpose and there is only one, so for some pitches its a long walk. The facilities are also really in need of an update, they were clean but back mould and cracking paint and grouting, exposed pipework all show its in need of a refresh. There were also signs stating there had been thefts on the site and we saw the police car doing a circuit of the site once when we were there. I would assume the play ground and dog walk would not change, the clubs attitude would be the site is full it can't be that bad. however, if you want to keep the site full and charge max fees improvements could be made. Will we be back? yes to visit Brighton for short visits but not for many nights due to the playground, dog walk and facilities.
Great site
I can only speak as I found. The wardens were friendly, very helpful. The site is kept immaculate by the numerous wardens. This is a peaceful site , close proximity to the marina with numerous restaurants and bars. Brighton is a 50 min walk away or a taxi can be called from reception which costs between £8- £10. We used this site as a stop over for a theatre trip in Brighton. We will be returning in Oct.
