One of the best we have stayed at

Arrived on 1/8/18 and after a long drive in hot weather with a dog my wife and I didn't spot the mistake made by a female warden when checking in on arrival. We were told to pitch on any available white peg pitch - standard with awning, when we had booked and paid for a red peg - serviced with awning hard standing. Fortunately I had only unhooked the caravan before a male warden found us and corrected the situation. Lessons learned.... Know your pegs ! Returning from an outing where we witnessed just how the summer drought is affecting local water supplies, we found unruly children wasting water by having a water fight. When entering the caravan the low water warning was on, after investigating I found my feed had been disconnected and the tap turned off. (Was this just a coincidence ???) with no proof we decided not to make a fuss. Apart from that the site is fantastic but does suffer from road noise. The dog walk is great with a stream to paddle in and a dog friendly pub at the end. Would also recommend the drive to the coast around Cardigan Bay area if the weathers nice. The onsite shop has to be one of the best stocked on the network and has everything you might need. Had a fantastic stay despite the problems mentioned will definitely be back

customer service

site is beautiful, easy to find, great location, facilities are very clean, excellent location for walking the only downside was with the staff members. Booking in seemed like too much hard work for one female warden, she didn't greet us with a smile, butted in to my conversation with my daughter as she questioned the cost difference, she was not helpful whatsoever, also informed us that we didn't have time to go to the shop as she was trying to book other people in, literally myself and my daughter were the only people in the reception. We arrived at pitch 64, after setting up We then noticed that the manhole cover had come adrift from the sewer and there were large loose hanging braches from the overhead trees, so whilst the male warden was doing his daily drive around (this is more than 5 times a day) we reported how "dangerous" the open sewer was and his attitude was that if you not happy with the pitch to move, he then returned with a couple of slab stones which in my eyes did certainly not help the situation or warn others of the danger. we then reported it the next day to a more senior caravan club manager and immediately a warden returned with cones and red warning bunting. The following day a tree surgeon arrived to review the overhanging branch situation when we left 5 days later the issues still had not been resolved and no one has updated us on the issues. Im just glad the Caravan Club Manager was walking around that day as I think that the issues would still be as they were. The wardens are supposed to be there to greet you and make your stay welcoming the 2 I have just discussed definitely did not. future advice to the wardens is to meet, greet and smile and instead of driving around maybe walk check and inspect the site and pitches - still awaiting an update on what we reported.

Road noise !!

Lovely site, fantastic dog walk. We had a frosty welcome from a female warden, we put it down to the heat. But sadly will not be returning because of the dreadful road nose, night and day. Ear plugs needed!!!

Great place to get away.

We have stayed here several times in a tent and this was the first time in our trailer tent here. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful. The site is always clean and well-presented. it is a very quiet site and is very family friendly. nights are quiet and peaceful.

Very good but some road noise

Lots of good points about this site but it is alongside a road that can be busy at times. This meant that there was some road noise that did somewhat affect the peace and quiet. But, having said that, great location being close to the canal path to Brecon and a short walk away from an excellent pub, the Three Horseshoes, that serves wonderful food.

Too much traffic noise around pitch 31.

First visit to this site. Pros. High standard like all club sites. Great Wardens. Cons. Do not take a pitch near no 31 and any in that line as they run parallel to A40 and at the junction with A470. If you are a city dweller then it may not be an issue. There just seems to be more dog owners than ever before. I have been a dog owner for most of my life but sadly not ant more, so appreciate that dogs need to do their business, but not in front of my caravan on a gravel pitch... yuk. Why can't dog owners control their dogs. Small dogs yap, yap,yap early morning straining at their lead. Good clean site without the dog muck. Sorry, moaning minnie. Just unlucky this time I guess.

Lucky Break

We decided last minute to get away for a few days, not too far from home so we booked this site online 24 hours before arriving. When we arrived we were met by friendly smiling faces and were processed in no time at all. We loved the lay-out of the site, the Toilet Block was spotless every time we had cause to use it, the Shop has a wide range of products and it was great that you did not have to order and pay in advance for a newspaper, we were very lucky with the weather as we know from experience that the weather in our part of the World is very changeable, although we did not put our awning up we had shade from the trees, which there are many on this site. Everything was immaculate and a credit to the Wardens, would we stay again ? you bet we will. the only downside and a minor one is that the Exit sign could be larger and in a more prominent position, but that is very minor. It is a great pity that this site is not open all year as it is a major region for tourists due to the many outdoor activities nearby, so, our late late decision to get away for a few days was made perfect by the helpfulness of everyone at the Brecon Site

Great location, friendly staff and spotlessly clean

Stayed here a few times. Always met with warm and friendly staff. Variety of different pitches. Two toilet and shower blocks which are kept spotlessly clean. Wardens helpful and friendly, likewise shop staff. There is some traffic noise but you get used to it. Close to canal with walks in either direction and bus stop by entrance. Couldn’t sky for more.

Summer visit

We visited the site on first week in July. It helped that the weather was in 30’s all week which helped. Wardens were good and site and facilities were clean The Club shop run by Prima leisure was a bonus on site. Unfortunately an elderly gentleman fell at the toilets and split his head open quite badly. Some members took control , phoned the ambulance ,contacted the wardens and tended him.when the wardens came they took over and couldn’t have done more to help until the arrival of the ambulance, well done wardens. I had an issue with a Motorhome who’s dod was tethered and let to foul the grass between pitches and the final straw came when the dog pooed in front of my car. When we returned from walking one day we returned to find several dog bowls, bones, food all at the entrance to my drivers door. I approached the member and stated that it’s not the dogs fault as they hadn’t exercised it just tied it up.All I got was a shrug of the shoulders so I told him that I would report this to the wardens in morning which I did. The wardens must have had a word as after this the dog was taken to dog walk several times a day. Unfortunately it is the usual member or non member who thinks the rules don’t apply to his dog. It is a lovely site in a superb location and thourghly recommend, wardens were great and in general we had a good holiday.
