Great site, shame about traffic noise.

Stayed here over the Easter weekend and were really blessed with the excellent weather, the site is maintained to a very high standard and all staff were very freindly. There are two toilet blocks which were kept spotlessly clean which would explain why they are closed for two hours each day for cleaning, one closes in the morning and the other in the afternoon so there is always one open. There is a lovely walk into Brecon along the canal but you first have to cross two dual carraigeways so beware the traffic. The pitches on the edges of the site backing onto the main roads did suffer from the traffic noise from the very busy roads juist outside the site. We have already booked for a return trip in August and really looking forward to it.

Fantastic bank holiday weekend

We stayed at the Breacon Beacon site with our 3 children(14,12& 5 yrs old) and dog. The site was to the club's expected high standards and the staff were all fantastic. The kids spent most of their time on the playground and on a particularly hot day, we went to the play barn next to the site which was extremely clean and the kitchen catered for the many food allergies we have. There are fantastic dog walks around the site with woods and stream. There was wooden obstacle course for the older kids here. We did not notice much road noise as some other reviews had mentioned. If you venture out into the beacons, there are some lovely little villages and inns. We tried the bell inn in llangenny where the food was 10/10. We will definately visit this site again and the location is is such a beautiful part of the country.

Another Lovely Stay

We had another great stay here last weekend. Admittedly, the weather was great, which does help. Had a great pitch with a feeling of openness and views up to the mountains. Quickly we felt ourselves relaxing and settling in. Again the two toilet blocks were spotless. Yes, there is some road noise but you quickly adjust to it and it's not a problem. Having a proper site shop is so handy too. Great dog walk into the woodland for the dog to have a runaround. Walk into Brecon along canal takes about 30 minutes. A very pretty and well laid out site that we will return to again.

Brilliant site, friendly staff, good location.

First time visitors to this site; will definitely return. Staff friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about local area. Facilities on site clinically clean although do closed for almost two hours daily to achieve. Site well laid out with small camping area; convenient if "camping friends" wished to join you. Very easy access to canal towpath into Brecon or Talybont, muddy when wet but fine with correct footwear. Lovely walk to 3 UUU pub alongside small brook but tarmac lane gives easy access (take a torch at night) Wonderful dining experience at dog friendly pub, locals always interested to chat. Pitches spacious so don't feel cramped and clear markings, some sloping ground to require blocks but in the main level. Great shame not all year site, plenty to attract you to Brecon & beyond. 3 night stay opening w/e, TV reception adequate albeit not all Freeview channels. Some road noise but not intrusive and this is rural Wales so not through the night.

Great Site

We stayed for 2 nights in late October. Arrived after 5pm so rang bell for assistance as reception was closed. Very quickly we were met by one of the staff who was most helpful. Told us what pitches were free, loaned us a pass to open the exit barrier so that we could fill with water, exit and re-enter to park up. The facilities on this site are 5 star with everything you could wish for, great toilets and showers which were impeccably clean, washing up facility, laundry and drying area all of which were warm and cosy. The shop has to be one of the best on any site, very well stocked. Great pub, the 3 Horshoes only a short walk from the site. We cycled along the canal into Talybont which is an easy 6 mile ride each way. As others have said, shame it is not open all year but one of the wardens mentioned that it has something to do with the National Park Authority rules. We will definitely be back

Ten Out Of Ten

Fabulous site with fantastic facilities. If you enjoy the outdoors, then you can't do much better than this. Site is very popular and about a third of the available pitches are serviced - there must be a demand for them. So it only begs the question - why isn't it open all year?? Thanks for a great stay.

Great site, please open all year

Spent one night here so that we could visit Brecon Food Festival. Fantastic facilities, best shower I have had for a long time. Would be great if all the club sites matched this one for quality of facilities. Easy to walk into Brecon, will bring bikes next time so that we can cycle along canal to Abergavenny. Would really like to visit all year round, as it was nearly full in October I wonder if there is any chance of it opening all year.

Nice Site

We had a pleasant stay for a few days. The toilet blocks are very clean and showers plentiful. The radio is constantly on, which didn’t bother us, but never come across it before. The worst thing is the noise from the road when sitting outside the van. The general traffic noise is tolerable, but found the motor bikes very annoying! However, as we were off site most of the day, it didn’t spoil the holiday too much. A good site for access to Brecon Beacons National Park, and we enjoyed walking to the top of Pen y Fan, and also the four waterfall walk at Ystradfellte. Had an excellent meal at the Three Horseshoes nearby.
