What a lovely clean site, maintained to a high specification, friendly staff, wonderful facilities, lots of canal walks and cycle routes near by - perfect location for exploring if that's what you like to do. Bus stop actually onsite which will take you to most places. Road noise is the only negative but we soon got used to it - you can't have everything in life! An array of typical garden birds in the many hedgerows on site plus an occasional bird of prey hovering above. Will definitely return.
As good as it gets
Regular users. Site has a good mixture of hard standing and grass pitches, plus luxury ones. Plenty of hedges/screening to break up regimalisation. Shop on site and 2 toilet blocks, closed at different times. Easy bus access to Brecon with interchange to many locations. Easy canal walk to town also. Excellent dog walk. Pitches at bottom end of site can have road noise as two busy roads meet at a roundabout. Newish M/H disposal point which is good. Excellent country location, pity its not open all year.
Lovely site
I cannot agree with a previous reviewer - this site is amazing the wardens and their assistants are extremely dog friendly - in fact our dog played with their dogs!! The walks on this site are wonderful and the on site dog walk is the best we have ever seen. We will definitely be returning to this site.
Excellent Site
Very clean and tidy but very busy as i would have thought this site would be due to its location
And wardens were friendly and helpful
And also a good selection in the club shop, we will definitely be back again
Early May Bank Holiday
We booked this site in order to visit the Antiques Fair at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells. We were only able to book an unserviced pitch online, but the reception staff were able to "upgrade" us to a fully serviced pitch on arrival. We've visited this site many times in the past, both as a Club site and also when it was a private site before the Club took it over. The facilities are clean and well maintained plus we had the unexpected bonus of brilliant and almost too warm weather!!! Supermarkets in Brecon are only a handy 10 minute drive away, so easy shopping to fill the fridge up. The Three Horseshoes pub in Groesffordd is only a 15 minute walk away and it serves good food and drinks at reasonable prices, (5 minute drive if you don't fancy the walk through the kids play area which is a bit steep, although I'm 68 and managed it with no problems.)
The only downside is the traffic noise as the site has the A40/A470 on two sides. Motorbikes seem to use these roads as a racetrack most weekends. I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't overly bother me, however we did meet one couple who had to move to the back of the site as the wife was unable to sleep due to the traffic noise. Good site and we will be back in the future.
May Bank Holiday - 3rd May to 8th May
WON'T BE COMING BACK HERE AGAIN!
We have visited this site many times over the years but will not becoming back following the victimisation we have had to endure from the wardens, on three separate occasions, the second and third clearly arising as a resilt of the first. For which we feel so strongly that we are writing a formal complaint to the site head quarters.
As we were pitched next to them we were clearly "easy pickings". On Saturday, one of our three dogs accidentally escaped from our awning through the apron attached to the caravan, he then went to another dog to fight, the lady who had her dogs was exceptionally good and understanding. However, one of the wardens was far less understanding, coming over to us in an aggressive manner THREATING us that if our dog was not tethered he would remove us from the site. He didn't ascertain any facts but just jumped to conclusions. If the dogs had have been outside we always tether them.
Amazing how when we walked around the site there were so many dogs outside that weren't tethered, even though the site rules clearly state they should.
On the second occasion, on the Sunday morning, we were told that the dogs could not urinate on the hedge at the rear of the caravan, only in the dog walking areas, as per the sites rules!! Think these need to be more clearly written then or the wardens taught how to interpret them properly.
The final straw came on the Monday afternoon when a third warden knocked on the window of our caravan "to make sure we were in" as someone had reported the dogs barking??!!
The site is not maintained to the very high standards of the previous wardens. We noted how on all previous occasions, especially at Bank Holiday weekends, the grass had been cut, the roads were clear of stones where the hard pitches are, and the site looked immaculate.
We accept rules, but if the wardens want to enforce them then they need to be "police patrolling" the site and applying to them to everyone.
We noted they didn't seem to enforce the 5mph speed limit!!
What we hoped would bean enjoyable weekend was totally spoilt.
AS I OPENED WE WONT BE BACK HERE AGAIN.
May bank holiday weekend
Lovely site and excellent facilities and great location. Irresponsible parents letting their child on a sit down Segway around the site every evening going faster than 5mph and the wardens did nothing, yet told my kids off for skating in the car park!
Great area and Good Site
Only a short stay for our first visit to site. Good open areas , clean facilities and the on site shop has all you might need with reasonable pricing.
Wonderful area with great circular trips, especially as for us going far on foot is unfortunately, a thing of the past
Super Site!
A truly superb site - spacious pitches, immaculate toilet blocks and a well-stocked shop. The wardens were all very friendly, helpful and efficient.
On the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons, the site is well located for many local attractions, with plenty to d - even when it is raining!
There is a pub that serves excellent food within walking distance. As it was raining, we took our 6 metre motorhome and only just managed to park - best to walk if you can!
A highly recommended site!

Spotless Site
Stayed for 4 nights on a serviced pitch. Nice gravel pitch. The people who booked us in were such friendly people. I cannot fault this site. The shower blocks had individual cubicles for washing and ones for showering aswell, hairdryers and hand dryers, even played the radio into the block. So clean and spotless and modern. If you are an active person there is plenty to do around the areas, The brecon beacons national park, the 4 waterfalls which is hard going, lots of cycle trails, and walking trails. Nearby shops. The site had an onsite shop selling essentials and gas bottles. You get given a key card for entering the site. I would return to the site.
