Delightful site

This is a delightful little site with some lovely places nearby. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Only downside is no shower and toilet block. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent Site

We had 5 days at this excellent site. The facilities and site were well maintained and spotless. The resident wardens were very friendly and helped us greatly when we had a problem requiring medical attention. We shall return. Watch your speed on site ! Jeff and Pam

Peace, perfect peace

On arrival Myra and Nigel, the duty wardens greeted us, advised which pitchs would be good (we are a bit long) and we settled in. The entrance to the site is not marked well enough. The book gives a small warning but the approach road is a very fast road and the entrance is only marked by two small Club signs. Might be an idea to get the council/highways authority to put up a couple of 'Caravans Turning/Entering'signs on the approach. The area is a visitor magnet, Bourton was rammed with people on every day we went there. Local attractions are good unless you have a dog. Places you cant go to are Chedworth Roman Villa and the Mechanical Music museum. Places you can include the Cotswold Wildlife park and the Motor Museum in Bourton. Warens knew which pubs took dogs, Black Horse in Naunton is excellent, good craft beer and very dog friendly. Booking is a must for most days for food. The wardens are quite strict on the speed of vehicles round the site which was good to see. Cant have the little darlings squished by 4x4's. Not many in evidence anyway. Plenty of safe dog walking from the site through the surrounding fields, masses of wildlife and the BBC were filming a few miles away for Countrywatch. The areas round the servicies look a bit tired. the wood is showing its age but overall the site is perfectly maintained by the team. Everything here excellent. We will be back Anyone else spotted that the new Club logo ( Caravan and Motorhome Club, since 1907, Really? Shouldn't that read since 2017.) looks like a Walls IceCream sign?

Lovely site

Just spent the bank holiday weekend at Bourton-on-the-Water site, what a gem! So peaceful, lovely views, and lots of wildlife of the animal and bird varieties to watch! We are in the second full year of owning a caravan and up until this weekend have only used sites with toilet/shower blocks and were a bit dubious but the bonus is, sorry families with children, its mostly adults. There were probably 4 or 5 children on the site but there was non of the ball kicking or rampaging around until all hours on bikes and scooters so we could sit in peace and watch the birds or walk the dogs or just sit and snooze! When we arrived we were advised by the warden which pitches would be okay for our caravan as its about 27ft long. Non of the pitches were very far from chemical waste point, fresh water point, grey water point, along with recycling bins and each of these areas were immaculate. We did have plans to go into Bourton but we had such a laid back three days we never left the site except to walk the dogs! And on Monday morning after a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich we packed up to go and on exiting the car park were told by the warden we didn't have to go SO early, my husband and I consulted our watches for the first time and found it was only 10.30 am, that was a surprise, we both thought it was much later. So, to sum up, totally relaxing weekend, can't wait to go again, loved it!!!

A one night stay

Site was good although quite slopping tv reception poor as stated but I feel the booster cable should be available for hire at a reasonable price instead of having to purchase one at £15

Fabulous site and super wardens

Stayed here over Easter. Easy to find and a great location for visiting many parts of the Cotswolds. We were allocated a pitch to suit the size of our van which was good (saves driving around to find 'the perfect pitch'). No toilet block which we knew on booking. Although it was about full we found the site peaceful and very clean. Very good sized pitch and water and waste facilities handy. TV reception with a booster ariel was excellent. The wardens do a great job at keeping the grounds in tip top order. They were also very helpful in suggesting places to eat and also in giving directions. Nearby Bourton was lovely but there are other places well worth visiting - the Slaughters for example, and Stow on the Wold, Bibury and the Arlington Row and Stanton. Delightful Cotswolds villages. Broadway is a larger village/small market town that has a good range of small shops, and of course Moreton on the Marsh. We found super walks and cycle routes near by. We also visited Highclere Castle (Downton) which was about a 50 min drive away and would highly recommend here.

Last Minute Two Night Stay

Just returned from a very last minute two night stay at Bourton-on-the-Water CC. Firstly what a very warm welcome we received from the wardens who could not do enough for us throughout our stay. The site is beautifully kept and pitches appear to be larger than other sites. Very peaceful and tranquil even though it was a Bank Holiday weekend. A lovely site we certainly will return to again for a longer stay.

Lovely spot - away from it all

Lovely spot up in the Cotswolds and with really great countryside and small villages and hamlets to walk to. The Wardens were just wonderful - very helpful and informative.
