Peaceful

Just back from a week here, our second stay on this site. Well kept and clean. The WiFi isn’t up to much although it was slightly better during our first stay so would advise you to check the WiFi heat maps to help you choose a suitable pitch. Access is easy. It’s a very quiet site with absolutely nothing on so don’t think it would be suitable with children. We found its location just a 5 minute drive into Bourton-On-The-Water great. We also visited stow on the wold, Cirencester, Cheltenham,Bibury and chipping Norton while we were there so found it an excellent base. We don’t mind using our own toilet/shower facilities so having no facilities there wasn’t a problem for us. Some pitches seemed a bit under trees but we loved the automated entry and being able to drive around and choose our pitch out of what was vacant.

Bourton-on-the-water Campsite

We had a really lovely holiday at this club site. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. The wardens are very friendly and the site is very well kept. Recommend a visit to Batsford Arboretum and garden centre very beautiful and dog friendly. We also enjoyed a trip to Stow on the Wold and the surrounding villages.

Not suitable for biking

Stayed at this campsite for three nights, it’s lovely and clean but with very limited facilities. The Caravanclub state this site is good for biking, can I say it certainly isn’t unless you want to dice with death. The roads, in the local area are very narrow with lots of bends and speeding dangerous drivers. There is a bus stop outside the campsite which goes to Cheltenham or Bourton on the water.

Well Kept Site

It's been many years since we visited this site and on this occasion we were only booked in for one night. There is no denying that the site is beautifully kept but it was running at full capacity during our stay and for us, it felt very hemmed in. There are a variety of pitches - hard-standing, grass, non awning but many vary in size and have length limits on them e.g. 7m, 7.2m. When the site is busy, smaller outfits are put on the smaller pitches leaving the larger pitches for longer outfits. I understand why they do this but I expect it creates some 'interesting' discussions with the site managers. There is very limited walking from the site - a permissive path gives access to a bridleway but after that, you need to take your chances along the main road (not recommended). There are no facilities and no play area so it may not be attractive to families - that would be their decision. I would visit again but when it the site is quieter - just my opinion.

Peaceful easy to access site

This site is easy to access off main roads rather than down lanes. The automatic check in system makes it quick and easy to get on site and pitch up. The wardens are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, even for people who struggle reversing their caravan, helping guide me onto the pitch between the marker posts. Site doesn’t have toilet block but with a needy dog that wasn’t an issue for me. Pitches are a good size and some are in full sun and others have shade. I found everyone very friendly but campsite was very quiet, no late noise of an evening and quiet to sleep in in the morning. Dog walk is on site but only small, but provides access to bridle path with long walks. Dog bins are situated at each end of the walk, shame some people didn’t use them. Info shed on site has selection of books and guides to local area including the hail to stop bus route opposite the campsite entrance. We had a fabulous weekend at the end of June 2024 and will be back later in the year.

Great Site

Visited this site for 7 nights from 17/6/24. Very easy to find and very handy for the M5. We had booked a hardstanding pitch with awning. The pitch was a good size. The site is very well kept and the managers very friendly. The is a good dog walk on site but you can walk through a field to a bridleway and walk for quite a while.

This site is well kept but disappointed with pitch

This site is very well kept and the staff running it are fine. It is just their policy of where you have to pitch your van; you are not allowed to select your pitch. If you have a small van 6.5 meters or less you are allocated a pitch and we were under trees, and there was a bank at the back. I couldn't get round my van at the back otherwise the tow ball would be in the road. They save the larger sunnier pitches for the larger vans and that area has the most sun but where we were pitched after 3.30pm in the afternoon there was no sun at all. It is a small site but members shouldn't be penalised just because they consider you have a small van. All the grass pitches with hook-up are the same price.

Comment from the Club:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We want to assure you that we do not have a policy of reserving the more desirable pitches for longer units. Our aim is to provide all members with a pleasant and enjoyable experience at our campsites. Most of the time, members are free to choose their pitch regardless of the size of their unit. However, during extremely busy periods on this Club Campsite, such as Bank Holiday weekends, the site staff sometimes need to allocate pitches more precisely to ensure they can accommodate everyone. Given that there are 10 grass pitches that are 7 meters or under, they do need to place smaller vans on these pitches when operating at full capacity.

We hope this clarifies our process and we look forward to welcoming you back for another enjoyable stay soon.

Very nice camping

First time when we are trying a camping with no showers, toilets etc. I have to admit that I booked this camping without checking very well the facilities :). But I'm not sorry for that,. because the camping is very clean, quite and in a good location. You need the care to visit Bourton on the Water, there is a bus I think but we didn't want to check the times so we used the car. Also to walk is like 5 miles and there is no walking path, and the road is quite busy, so not very safe. Definitely is a location to go there again for a weekend, if you want to relax and be in a quite place. Also to walk the dog, a lot of walking path after you are out from the camping, around the fields. Initially I thought that it's only a small path, but following the maps from camping, you have plenty of path to walk the dog.
