Good Location

Our first visit, nice site in a good location in relation to Leek, where one has most facilities. Generally it is quiet and peaceful, but we found the noise from passing traffic could be intrusive, there is a school within earshot. I think this is the first site I've been on where I required the full length of the power cable to get plugged into the bollard, there being hardly any slack! Similarly with the T V cable. Obviously this doesn't apply on all pitches, but perhaps there should be a warning given when booking in, or even the provision of some shorter extension leads held by the wardens. All other facilities were as one expects on club sites. Wardens a great bunch of Guys and Gals --- we have no hesitation in returning when next in the area.

Peak District without the crowds

There is so much to see and do within 30 minutes drive of this very well maintained site and the local walking routes are superb. Along the "Roaches" rocky outcrops provides splendid views and a recently completed footpath around Tittisworth Reservoir is well worth the time, finishing off with refreshments at the "Lazy Trout" Pub who serve excellent meals and beers, all within walking distance of the site. There is even a dog wash by the entrance to the "Dog Walk". We pitched at the top end to hopefully get a decent Mobile signal, which was just better than marginal. Also the CC WiFi was sluggish according to frustrated iPad users. Overall a very good site which we will return to.

Another relaxing stay

This is our third visit, the wardens are brilliant, nothing to much trouble and always have time for you, Friendly and very helpful. Good size pitches and very spotless toilet blocks. The site is exceptionally well kept with lovely welcoming flowers as you enter the site and at reception. Great fish and chip van on Saturday evening.

Quieter part of the peak district!!!!

Lovely well kept site but if you stay by the entrance be prepared for the constant traffic noise. I'm writing this review at midnight and their is no let up in the vehicles going past. Wardens are excellent, toilets and showers are of usual high CC standards but because we like peaceful sites we won't be returning.

Heaven

After 10 nights at this lovely site we were sorry to leave. Antony and Sheila Keith and Tracey make this site the most welcoming and well run site you will come across on the CC circuit, from the spotlessly clean facilities blocks to the hanging baskets and well tended grass and plant areas these guys just never stop and it's obvious from the moment you go through the gates. Anyone wanting a get away from it all stay but with lots of things to do close by will love it here. Only a couple of weeks until our next stay .

Lovely site

Just got back from a very enjoyable bank holiday weekend. Was welcomed by very friendly staff who made you feel welcome from the start. Site just as you expect a cc site to be. Had a day in Leek, Buxton and Bakewell so we had plenty to do while we were there. Fish and chip van came into site on Saturday and they were very nice and would recommend. Would definitely go back again in the future.

Our stay at Blackshaw moor in August 2016

Site was well kept. We were parked at the bottom so there was a lot of traffic noise during the night. This was the first time we have been shown a model of a caravan and car and how we were to park up. A little over the top.

What a venue!

We needed a sight that would allow us to explore the peaks, have a break, and generally be hosted by great wardens in a site with the usual excellent facilities. We got it all, plus some good humour from the Wardens, great fish 'n chips on the Saturday, and a site with some unique and quaint features that gave it a personal touch. Well worth the visit, despite the low traffic noise from the nearby road.

Lovely spot

We have just returned from 6 days on Blackshaw Moor. Great location , lovely clean and well maintained site.Wardens were friendly and helpful.Serviced pitches in the middle, the drains are higher than the pitch so you need to wedge up the waste pipe to ensure it drains, we used our bottles toilet stuff and some wood as did some other people, not a problem once we had it set up.Close to Buxton, approx 9 miles, quite hilly up to the small market on a Tuesday and we parked near a lovely garden next to the tourist information with a pavilion and a marquee with dancing. Leek is even closer but in the opposite direction, market on a Wednesday if you like that kind of thing, plenty of supermarkets and nice little shopping area. Potteries are in abundance it is just a matter of deciding which one to do, again not too far approx 20 miles to Stoke. 3 horseshoe pub over the road has stunning views in the beer garden at the back, we went for 1 drink but enjoyed the scenery that much we stayed a lot longer than we expected too. Lots more to do nearby so we will be back.

Good all round site

Had a good time at this site, nice and peaceful even in school holidays, a bit of traffic noise if you pitch adjacent to the road but we were at the top end so it was great. Toilets were modern and clean and the wardens were very friendly. Good location if you want to visit Trentham Gardens and Biddulph Grange and also the Lovell Telescope. The pub just down the road, was within easy walking distance, we found it nice but a bit pricey. All in all a good stay, the weather was perfect so we sat outside enjoying the sun.
